Ok , digging around for a while, those blank keyboards are ridiculously priced.
So I guess what I'm asking is there any android / smart TV version of autohotkey/macros ?

something that will record a remote control's input and allow me to save out the macro and assign it to a key?

And some of it they don't even make anymore. The circuit board on that keypad has been laid out by hand. You'd have to source a whole new keypad. You might be able to use this, or one like it.

They also make USB 10 keys that you could go with. Could open some more of your options.

I have this wireless one from Amazon.

So it should work, it's just how the numpad is made, and a different one might work fine? It's the first external numpad I've ever owned so an issue like this didn't even cross my mind.

I'm in the market for something like this. The DC-01 without the split would be my dream & at about half the price.

It seems like there are about a million Bluetooth ones on Amazon but any lag or battery issues will drive me crazy. I design all my data sheets specifically so I can enter them in a race against myself, lol.

I actually like it a lot! It can take a second to turn on when not used for a while though. Essential for my profession.

Get her an Acer C720 Chromebook and a wireless number pad or get a wired one.

It would suit her needs just fine.

If she really needs windows, still get the 10 key off to the side and pick up an ASUS X200LA.

Ok, so the numpad is just the cheapest mechanical numpad I could find on Amazon. I opened it up, desoldered the switches, and put in some old zelios I had laying around. The key caps are the numpad section of a set of SA caps I also had on hand.

This is the numpad. It is garbage, but after the work it is usable.

60% keyboards let you position your mouse closer to WASD, so I feel it is more ergonomic for gaming. I usually go [60% Keyboard] [Mouse] [Numpad] on my desk, because when I use a numpad I am rarely also using my mouse.

The good part about having a separate Numpad is I can put it in a drawer when I don't need it, or move it to my left and use it as a macro pad for other apps when I don't need to enter numbers.

Yep, that's a Magicforce Numpad - one of the reasons I got one is for my CSGO buy binds. I'd say don't let it stop you from adopting that TKL/60% lifestyle, you won't look back!

Answer: It does work while Num Lock is off, yes. On my keyboard the Num Lock light will flash on per keystroke of this Targus keypad when Num Lock is disabled.

I just ordered a Jelly Comb for ~17 British money and they send it to skandinavia. Maybe also to Canada? Edit2: They don't :(

Is there no service where you can order stuff in the US to, that will re-send it to canada? I know there is stuff like that for EU, not cheap though.

I was lucky enough to pick up an RGB Strafe for £60 new in what I can only guess was a pricing error at game (£140 usually).

Hmm, I thought about using one of these external number keyboards and readdress most/all of the keys to other characters or macros.

The keyboards are Qisan MagicForce 68 and Magic Force 21 with Cherry Browns and red o-rings. The keycaps are Tai Hao Miami, which I think I got from Massdrop. I have 2 kinds of artisans, Fungkeys by Keymaker, and Boba B-stock from Idea23. Both types of artisans were won/bought through vendor giveaways/sales on /r/mechmarket.

It's this one. It's just a cheap numpad I got to bind shortcut keys to. I plan on painting over the keys with black paint and then laser etching away custom symbols.

Hmm, I actually can't remember for sure. I think it's this Kinesis one. I don't use it very regularly, so I can't really comment on it much.

I still have the same engraved PBT keycaps on it that I used to have on the keyboard.

Ive been using this one for a while. its not perfect but it works and is fairly cheap.
