For a vintage build, go with something cool like cinelli: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0084A4J9G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xmaPBbKRGNMND

Or if you want to go all out, get brooks: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000GBQTVW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_9naPBbBNA2EWN

Get yourself a Dymo handheld labeler and a cartridge of nylon/polyester label. The standard dymo tape doesn't like dirt and is better for filing but nylon is much stickier. You can then print and stick them on like this. My bike has been stripped down in bits at the moment and there's a mountain of neatly labelled sandwich bags for when I get round to reassembling it; lots of little bolts and screws all labelled so I know exactly where they came off.

You can also use it for other things too, it makes everything neater than a bit of masking tape and a sharpie. I have also used paint pens in the past but they're not as neat.

Something like this -- https://www.amazon.com/Brother-Fabric-Inch-Iron-Tape/dp/B0055FGLF8

Its iron-on adhesive tape for fabric. I used it when I was adding blackout liner to some curtains years ago and it worked great. They were hanging for years and the tape stayed. I think the downside is that it doesn't really come off easily (unlike a hem), but if what you bought is relatively inexpensive then it's not the biggest deal. I also don't know how it would look with white curtains.

If you're labeling a patch cord - so you can't use a heat shrink, this is really good.

You can easily make your own if you have a Brother P-Touch label machine, you can use this tape which has a black background with white lettering. It's also available in other sizes too.

May I suggest you use a tongue in cheek off-brand name such as POTATO. I see Potato quality photos posted on Reddit everywhere!

Looks like one part of this product.

Can vouch for the Dymo Rhino line, though I have the 4200. I can also vouch for the offbrand tape Amazon sells for it: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073PNSDXR/

Do yourself a favor and only buy the nylon tape. The vinyl tape will turn into a sticky mess and fall off your cables from the exhaust heat on the servers. I used to stock vinyl for labeling the fronts of servers, but changing the tape (and making sure everyone else did) between different labeling tasks wasn't worth the cost savings even before I found the cheaper off brand tape.

Honestly I use brightly colored label tape. It’s meant to be written on and is easy to remove albeit more expensive than I’d like.

Usually something along these lines: ChromaLabel 1 inch Color-Code Labeling Tape | 500 inch Roll (Fluorescent Green)

The only downside is that it reads easily enough that it’s harder to prep 50 of them ahead of time than strips of gaff - but half of the time the 2ND will have done that so I only need to worry about the green tags anyway.

u/radtech830 · 3 pointsr/Ebay

I've started doing something similar for the more expensive (non-electronic) items I sell. I purchased this tamper evident tape and type a unique order # on it, then affix it to the item and take a picture of it, along with the packing slip. Then I send the buyer an email with the order # on it and a copy of the picture.

I also note that this will be done in the actual listing itself.

While none of this is guaranteed to prevent a scammer from trying to pull one over, my hope is that they'll realize I'm going to fight any BS claims and look for something with less hassle.

Definitely more work for me, and not worth it for most of my items - but so far, so good.

I disassembled my TI 84+ Silver edition, and found a single PCB supported by a gratuitous amount of plastic. If you put one of these on it, I imagine it wouldn't get much better for durability.

These are sheets that go in your printer, not in a label maker. Found the link on Amazon. They've dropped in price since I last looked.

I'd guess you can probably power it via the USB port.

There are books of wire labels. This one has A-Z & 0-15 you can use the them (1 or 2) to mark the wires accordingly

Morris Products Pre-Printed Wire Marker Booklet - Tyvek Book A - Z, 0 - 15, + - / Marking - 10 Markers Per Legend - For Cable Hook Ups - Oil, Water Resistant - Self-Adhesive Cloth Material - 1 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005GDFW4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6l00DbYFYBWQE

You should look into a portable label maker for marking those cables. That way you can print from-to and any other details you may need.

this is the tape we use on outdoor industrial equipment.

u/jshatxmscl · 4 pointsr/cableporn

Dymo industrial label maker and shrink tube labels.

u/latam9891 · 3 pointsr/konmari

I got this label maker and these refills. The refill tapes seem to be lasting a long time. I’m not even through half of the first wheel.
