We got this kind from a local hardware store for about $10 and then another $10 for the oil to go in it. It's been on the same wick since we got it, around the beginning of February. We also haven't had to put more oil in it yet either.

I think I'll go for a lantern. If fueled = no-go, my alternate pick is the neutral Ti version of this.
For car camping I don't need anything blindingly bright that's going to annoy other campers. Just a little glow that will keep everyone from tripping over things. These lanterns burn for freaking ever on one filling. The wide base makes it very stable, but I don't know if I'd use it in a tent. This fuel is odorless.
A real lantern? Just go to amazon or ebay and search "oil lantern." Hell, here's one from five seconds of searching.
If not, WWE sells cheap crappy looking merch ones, with shiny black plastic and a bright red buzzard logo that use LEDs instead of actual flame.
Or you could get something like this using LEDs, and switch it off as you blow on it, which is what Bray does in his entrances. Far safer at least.
Regarding the oil lamp bit in the way we've used it, the wicks are held in place by a glass tube and top so they don't fall in. These are similar to the ones we have.

We originally bought them to replace missing ones from the below set and I ended up with extra since i got a 12 pack. There is no "seal" on these wolfard lamps. They have a hole on the outside to fill them and the wick rests on top of the globe with the glass bit so it won't fall in.
