You're welcome! I've made a few of them and I love them. If they get a little algae issue, I just throw in some hydrogen peroxide, which kills the green then turns into water. This is the kit that I normally use.

I'm also one of those people who can't seem to manage to go on a hike in a beautiful place without ending up with 10 pounds of pretty rocks in my pocket. So I save the best rocks and sea glass from my travels and throw them into the fountain to remind me of my travels. I just love it. So do the hummingbirds and honey bees.

I really want this to make a champagne fountain but I guess everybody is too busy paying mortgages and vaccinating their children or something. PRIORITIES PEOPLE! CHAMPAGNE. FOUNTAIN.

I'm not sure if its available internationally but I've used Gallup and it does work. My next door neighbors decided to pretty up their garden and planted this shit along the fence line.

By spraying the leaves on my side I managed to kill the entire plant, I also ended up buying them new plants to apologise for my "accident" but it was well worth it.

Depends on how steep of an angle and how much length of hose you need from the pond to the garden. There's cheap solar powered fountain pumps on amazon for $20
https://www.amazon.com/Lewisia-Fountain-Waterfall-Decorative-Submersible/dp/B00VLP0670/ref=sr_1_4?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1501188269&sr=1-4&keywords=solar+water+pump

I would just have it pump into the barrell and when the barrel is topped up, have a hose run back from the top to the pond. If the barrell is full and the solar panel is getting sun and pumping, it will just flow back to the pond on a second hose. Simpler than trying to program in some logic to make it stop when full and doesn't matter since the power is free from the sun.

Thanks!

I purchased this one from Amazon:

I bought the galvanized container from a discount store, painted the inside blue, then used construction glue (the type used in a caulking gun) to glue the tiles in sections. It took several days.

The copper tubing was mix and match from the hardware store. It splits off into a Y at the base for stability, with the tube from the pump to the spigot being fed through of one of those legs. I have a drip system feed water to the fountain whenever the plants in that zone get watered.

My previous setup also used a Lewisia pump and it lasted for about 4 years. Remember to use some sort of algae control (you can buy long lasting blocks or sludge remover).

Good ol' Haws 3202G...

My assumption would be that it is part of some sort of desktop fountain like this one. This piece would likely be the middle or the base since there are no holes to get water into it otherwise. The "spigot" is probably for the power cables for the pump.

well your 1.5 horse power pool pump is going to have a wattage it runs at.

lets use this one

Wattage = Voltage Amperage - so 110V 15A = 1725 watts, or 1.725 KW

So you have 1.725KW per Hour, or 1.725KWH

Your electricity company charges you .101KWH (more likely than not they charge for KWH, not KW).

So 1.725KWH * .101KWH = 17 cents per hour.

Not sure if my math is correct, but i think this is on the point.

Lots of digging. I scraped the gravel away with a rake and scooped it up with an old snow shovel. Once the loose stones were removed I had to dig the really compact stones and dirt out using a shovel and a heavy duty metal rake. This was the labour intensive bit, it took me about 3 days to dig down 4-5 inches through the stones send dirt. As for the soil I was lucky in that there was a large estate nearby with groundskeepers I was friendly with, they supplied me with a tonne or so of fresh earth to lay on top.

If you're more interested in how to kill the weeds and keep the gravel I used this weedkiller to remove some deep weeds from places I wanted to keep gravel. I was wanting to keep the garden chemical free, though whomever put the gravel down originally didn't put any weed suppressant liner down so they just kept coming back. With that weedkiller I've not had any issues 6 months after use.

Ok don't take anything I say without multiple grains of salt, because I have no experience with deer, but I recently heard of Japanese deer scarers. I can't seem to find anything online saying if they actually scare deer or not. Does anyone here know?

Also, another sleep deprived idea: would wrapping the stalk of a plant in fishing wire or some other inedible material make a deer lose interest in eating it after the first bite?
