I'm an old suzuki guy. 9 times out of 10, your rectifier/regulator is fried. Don't buy an OEM replacement either, they were like this from the get-go. What you'll want is a "series" rectifier/regulator (I'll refer to it as an R/R). If you want to check your stator as well, you'll need a multimeter.
What's happening is you're draining your battery and it's not getting charged well, soon it won't even start. When you get up in the RPM's your ignition system pulls some serious electricity, and your battery alone isn't up to the task.
If you want to charge in blindly, here's the likely culprit (I want to say it's located under the battery tray on your specific model) Buy this unit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZYNGIAO/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You will also need the connectors here http://www.2wheelpros.com/oem-parts/triumph-link-lead-regulator-t2500676-part.html
If you want to go the pro route, grab a decent multimeter and follow this flowchart http://www.thegsresources.com/statorpapers4.php
Any questions feel free to ask, this is all fresh in my mind because I literally just fixed this issue on mine 3 days ago.
Edit: I jumped the gun a bit as I was writing this right before bed. Definitely buy the multimeter first, set the dial to VDC and record the voltage at the battery terminals with everything off, and again with the bike running at idle. should be around 12.8 and 13.5 respectively.
Good luck! I purchased this one and it was a direct fit for my 2002. Seems well made so far with voltage output stable around 14v. Will be going mosfet route next time if this doesn’t last.

Lighting system consists of a 60 watt L45 Stator
Trail Tech 7004-RR150 Reg/Rec for AC->DC conversion
and a 12V Tenergy 2000mAh NiMH battery. The battery isn't needed at all, as the stator works well enough even at idle to power the bar, but it's great to have for bike off lighting.
I've seen those on amazon as well. The R/R's on gsxr's are right behind the radiator's. This cooks them pretty fast. I have thought about relocating the R/R but i don't have the power tools to make a bracket. The location of these R/R's are so shitty in the first place I'm tempted to not risk it and just get a MOSFET designed one from Rick's motorsport electrics. Having a battery almost explode under me is just a little unsettling where it might be worth the money.
If you go with a honda unit you'll need to rewire. Again, super common swap, but still takes some time.
If you don't want to, just get this it should be a straight swap
I don't mind putting money down for the part if it'll fix it. This isn't too bad a price. I think I'll replace the battery first, then if that doesn't fix it, it'll be the rectifier.
