They're just the ball-bearings in your motorcycle's steering stem that allow you to turn the handlebars left & right. The stock bearings on the 300 usually wear out at anywhere from 8000-16000km and start causing wobble/instability.
Only costs about $40 to replace, but takes a bit of time, patience, and elbow grease. Will really help you get to know the bike though lol.
