The Acer monitor is on Amazon.ca. That's about 2000 US dollars.

2000....for a badass monitor

u/markilleruk · 4 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

> $600

OK, lets review.

A baseline 32" 1440p 144Hz VA monitor is currently ~$350

A second baseline 34" 1440p 60Hz IPS monitor is currenty ~$500

Best guess a 29" 1440p 144hz IPS is gonna be at least $600

Gsync adds at least $300

HDR10 will likly add at least $300-$500 at 1440p ultrawide, and the only released HDR10 monitors are $2000 4K@144Hz g-sync displays.

HDR certification can be checked for here.

Best case scenario we are looking at $1200, 2x what you are hoping, and its much more lily that the first screens to match your specs will be $1500-$2000.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

u/Vallitium · 3 pointsr/LivestreamFail

If you read the specs on those monitors, only one is 4k 144hz and it costs $1,973.23 USD. The rest are 1440p 144hz or 4k 60hz.

u/Lee_Ars · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

> Now imagine how expensive a 4K monitor with 144Hz would be.

You don't have to imagine: it's about two thousand goddamn dollars.

(And it looks like it'll only do 144Hz at 4K with 4:2:2 10-bit.)

A good HDR monitor will cost you more than a good HDR TV (this is the best HDR monitor right now), they're just very expensive right now. If you've got the room for a TV go for that. Check out https://www.rtings.com/tv and look at the Best by Price section to find something in your budget that is good for gaming.

Oo one more Acer Predator X27 bmiphzx 27" 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultimate | Quantum Dot | Up to 144Hz Refresh | Adobe RGB | (Display Port & HDMI Port) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CWDBL39/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Pez2DbM6SKH7F

If you can live without curved or ultrawide, that monitor “has it all” other than those two features. It’s 4k 144hz, with quantum dots and g-sync with 384 FALD zones and 600 nit HDR and IPS panel. That’s insane.

u/larisagnia · 1 pointr/buildapc

This is actually false. There are already a good selection of 4k moniters at 165hz with HDR10.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-X27-bmiphzx-Monitor/dp/B07CWDBL39

This monitor is top of the line, but there are many other ones from other companies/models that run 4k well above 60hz. The problem right now, is that displayport 1.4 only allows 4k at 120hz with compression. Displayport 2.0 will allow THREE 4k moniters at 165hz easily.

u/Drazardd · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Right now I have the Samsung 4k 28in monitor I've been using since I've built my computer back in Oct of 2015. I never had any problem reach the 60FPS.

I've been known of these monitors along with ACERs new version, Acer Predator XB273K, but with HDR400 instead of 1000. Along with the price drop of about $600.

I've always been thinking of buying it but halting myself because of the issues from all the forums and posts everyone that had one with it. I have no problem it seems from the subsampling if needed for the higher frames for the degrade in pixel color. Yessir. Obviously graphics cards aren't doing both for triple a games but you can always drop the pixels from 4k to hit the frame rate. I laugh when people say they are buying a future proof graphics card and it seems like everyone laughs when you mention a future proof panel.

But it's weird. What's less than a months rent for me and my nerds seems to be unattainable for the majority of people in this sub. Budgets are funny.

u/Fart__Hoofer · 1 pointr/bapccanada

If you want true 4K/120Hz you are going to be looking at paying around $2800+tax (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07CWDBL39/?coliid=IOHT1F8VZ1BEA&colid=24QG8LF8BTEGJ&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it - its actually on sale right now haha).

What Alienware is that? I'm only aware of two legitimate 4K/120Hz monitors and they are both the same price.

You can get a good 4k/60Hz monitor with G-Sync/IPS/etc. for around $700-$800 iirc.

u/rarrieg11 · 1 pointr/PCBuilds

Keep in mind these are just my amazon searches, so there definitely could be better actual monitors on different websites or better prices elsewhere.

This is the one I have. It’s the cheapest high refresh rate g-sync monitor that I know of. It’s good but the colors aren’t the greatest. It’s still an insane improvement over my $120 Costco 1080p 60hz monitor.

This is basically the best 1440p monitor currently available. It’s got g-sync, an IPS panel, and i think an audio pass through. But, it’s expensive and kind of flashy which may mess up your setup if you care about that.

This is a nice 4K IPS monitor. It’s only 60hz but even with a 1080ti you won’t get above 60fps in many games at 4K with higher settings. Again, it’s expensive.

This is a 4K 144hz monitor with g-sync. You could probably find a way to get a 1080ti, a better monitor, and better cpu for about half the price so...

u/nodecentric · 1 pointr/buildapc

Your graphics card shouldn't have a problem with both, and the refresh rate dilemma you have is something that you should check out in person. Some people say its the worlds difference while others claim its doesn't make a huge difference. I would recommend going in person to a store or see if anyone you know has something of similar specs to compare. I honestly cant tell the difference but thats up to you.

But I dont know where you read the 100hz thing because they exist, just they are very expensive

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-X27-bmiphzx-Monitor/dp/B07CWDBL39?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2&th=1

Anyways, if you really want a fast refresh rate, you might as get a slightly lower resolution monitor if you want to save money

u/ziggyziggler · 1 pointr/buildapc

I think it's underkill because 2080 TI can push 100+fps is 4k sometimes, if you have 2g laying around, get this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CWDBL39/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KwMYBbSAFHV7B

u/baconator81 · 1 pointr/Games

The problem is if you look at the current top of the line 4k monitor like
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-X27-bmiphzx-Monitor/dp/B07CWDBL39

At 4k mode it only offers 4ms response time.. that's too slow for competitive gaming any good gaming monitor can do 1ms at 1080p.

In my opinion 1440p 144hz is the sweet spot , It's easy to hit 144 fps while still being noticeably sharper than 1080p , the difference between 1440p and 4k isn't that big (I have a 1440p 144hz as my main monitor and a 4k LG panel to the side)

That being said, if you really like open world games, what WILL make a HUGE difference, even more so than a resolution bump is an ultrawide monitor, you can get ultrawide 1440p 120-144hz monitors , Asus has a 200hz one but its super expensive, EVEN shooters look stunning with an ultra wide

It looks like you're building a PC at around ampere's launch, I'm guessing you could pick up a 4k 144hz monitor for the best of both worlds, be prepared to spend a shit ton though
