also a lot of companies sell stickers that do a similar job. I use some I had lying around from Bontrager. I know of people who buy bulk rolls of 3M clear bra or helicopter tape and cut it to shape.
haha, yeah, I used electrical tape and packing tape before but it always rubbed off on the frame/tore. Got lazy with replacing it and spent a couple bucks on these things, they've worked quite well so far.
