I keep this stool clipped to my backpack. It's great if I need to be a little higher, or don't want to sit on the ground. Super light weight and easy to use!

See if you can get one of those fold up stools. Something like this. It works well for our tight bathroom so the little monsters can get up there and wash their hands/brush teeth.

Sounds like it. He should still meet you halfway on the conflict resolution thing tho. May not work 100% of the time (i.e. stressful times for either one of you) but it should at least be agreed upon
