These are about as cheap as you should go and not be in the crap range.
uh. I think I got mine at this price on amazon. It comes and goes sometimes it's $180-190 then dips to $150-160. Here's the link -> https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-P-223-3-9x40-Mate-BDC/dp/B006YVT0R8/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1479332787&sr=1-4&keywords=nikon+3-9 DOES NOT COME WITH MOUNTS, so cabelas is the better deal.

For my carbine build I have the Vortex Optics SPR-1303, a 3x sight that's awesome. Runs about $300. https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-SPR-1303-Spitfire-EBR-556B/dp/B00HYRGNLM/ref=cm_rdp_product
For my rifle build I have the Nikon P-223 for $165. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006YVT0R8/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

A Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 would be a good option for shooting 100yrds.
I mainly want a durable, budget optic that holds zero to plink with. Trying to stay under 150, 175 max. These are the two I've been looking at. Very torn on which one to get. both highly regarded, relatively same price. Got paid in today.
