Have you tried a left hand only keyboard yet? They're a cheap way to get your feet wet and see if ergonomic designs feel right.

Something like this would be a good thing to try and it'll give you an idea of whether you want to keep going down the rabbit hole, it's pretty cheap too:

Update: I found one with the layout I wanted and the perfect amount of keys. The only issue is that it has blue switches. Now I’m trying to find out if the switches can be swapped out for red switches unless blue switches are down for gaming

I'd recommend this, OPs is overpriced and it visually looks like shit imo.

It’s this keypad here ^ , it’s a great keypad if you don’t have a lot of space!

Redragon K585 DITI best buy for single handed in my opinion as the key layout is conventional.

My peripherals:

Mouse - this or the wired version which is just as good.

Mouse mat - I travel with one because you never know what's going to be available. Take your pick - cloth or hard.

Headset - I think this is a must, one with a decent mic if you respect the people you game with. I have the Plantronics Rig 800LX because it works with my Xbox with the dongle too.

Gaming keypad - I can't imagine gaming on any laptop keyboard regardless of how good it is and this is the perfect size to travel with. I'd get a normal keyboard for home if I didn't have a desktop.

Bag - are you travelling with it?

USB thumb drive - if you don't have one, good to have on hand for transfers and they're dirt cheap.

I think the mouse is more important. For what it’s worth I use the Redragon K585 and it is amazing. I prefer it over the couple of cheap mechanical keyboards I have. Switches are hotswappable so I ended up putting Outemu Browns in my and it is perfect for me.
