I use Shave Secret. Can get it at amazon or your local grocery store. Very cheap and effective.

u/Kubi74 · 3 pointsr/everymanshouldknow

it's all in the prep. check out some preshave oil and dont get suckered into expensive shit, its all castor oil anyway... https://www.amazon.com/SECRET-SHAVING-18-75ML-Health-Beauty/dp/B0023XF60Q/ref=sr_1_7_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1467748732&sr=1-7&keywords=pre+shave+oil from the store will be ok

Instead of shaving cream I just use shave oil. Its awesome cause i dont need a lather and its clear so I can see where I am shaving!

This is what I use but im sure theres better ones out there

I use one of those self cleaning Braun electric razors. I apply Shave Secret and wet shave with the electric razor.

I make sure to let it do it's full clean cycle after every shave to keep it clean.

After I shave, I apply an AHA to help exfoliate the dead skin away. I wait about 20 minutes and then lightly apply CeraVe in the tub to moisturize.

This has greatly reduced any shaving induced acne.

There are better/thicker/thinner/etc brands out there, but simple Shave Secret has always worked for me. You can find it at wal-mart for a few bucks, and it lasts forever.

I thicken it up with a little bit of mineral oil as well, and use lotion post-shave.

https://www.amazon.com/SECRET-SHAVING-18-75ML-Health-Beauty/dp/B0023XF60Q?th=1 with a shick intuition moisture..... works like a charm! maybe a tube of bikini zone to soothe the skin if it gets irritated....

Congrats on getting out of that bad foster situation man. I might have a few tips and tricks I haven't seen getting put out yet for you.

  1. I second what some people are saying, take as many showers as you want. Something I did find, however, is that if I only shampooed my hair every other day, eventually my hair wouldn't get oily. I've found that something like a Head and Shoulders shampoo/conditioner all in one cleans and keeps the white flakies off.

  2. Those razor burn bumps were the bane of my existence, 'till I discovered the old-school double bladed safety razors (like this one and learned how to use one. For the shaving cream I alternate between Shave Secret (you can find it at Wal-Mart for a couple bucks) and a Gillette sensitive skin gel. No more bumps.

  3. I am one hairy dude. I even have hair on the backs of my fingers. Mostly what I do is keep my pubes trimmed up (helps keep down body odor), and every once in a while use a trimmer with a guard to trim up my eyebrows and get rid of the uni-brow. They would look like caterpillars having sex on my face otherwise. I wouldn't recommend the eyebrow trimming unless it noticeably gets out of hand, but definitely take care of the uni-brow, if you're cursed with that. Otherwise, lots and lots of chicks dig a hairy-chested (fit) dude.

  4. T-shirts get one use from me. Button downs, one to three uses, depending on if I've sweated. Jeans... if it looks or smells dirty, wash them. Otherwise, just hang them up at the end of the day and you're good to go. If it looks dirty or smells like anything other than your deodorant/cologne, wash it. I just use liquid detergent and about 2 cups of vinegar in the wash. The vinegar actually helps get rid of odors and stains. Also, use unscented fabric softener sheets. It helps keep your clothes looking nice, and there won't be any scent to clash with whatever you're wearing.

Also, I highly recommend sticking with something like an Old Spice deodorant and no cologne, unless you can ask a girl that you trust what cologne would smell good on you. And then only use a spray or two under your shirt for the day.

Biotene mouthwash (from Wal-Mart again) dissolves the gunk that is left on your teeth after eating, makes brushing your teeth much more effective. It's a bit more expensive than Listerine, but I've only had a couple cavities in my entire life.

A good, comfortable pair of shoes will make you feel and look better. If your feet hurt, then you will hurt all over. My personal favorite for everyday wear is Macbeths (you can find them at Journeys in the mall). Good foot support, they look great, and they're (relatively) inexpensive. I was without a vehicle in California for about 6 months, wore a pair out walking everywhere in them without a single problem.

I know I'm late to the party, but I hope these help!

>It's insane how much variety there is in what works and doesn't work for individuals.

So very true. I tried SO MANY different razors, "men's", "women's", safety, and they all left my neck jacked up. The 9311 is the only one I ever found that didn't. Oh and Shave Secret is the other half of my shaving method, I can't speak highly enough about that stuff too!

Please don't let stop you from experiencing something with your education. I have been camping many times for long period of time, and shaved without a mirror, even. Just kept feeling where there was hair.

This is my travel essential for shaving my face... https://www.amazon.com/Shave-Secret-Shaving-Oil-18-75Ml/dp/B0023XF60Q/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1512055434&sr=8-5&keywords=shaving+oil
It's crazy cheap at Wal Mart, it's like 2 inches tall, can bring it on the airplane.

It's what we are dealt, at least you are able-bodied to go somewhere! And seriously, I think we see the hair more than others do. I know I was bullied for it in my younger years.

Baby oil? Try Shave Secret.

I use that with a regular gillette single blade razor for trimming around my beard, hitting the back of my neck, etc. I just throw the razor away after use and I get an excellent shave each time.

If you are going bald working out and wearing better clothes do wonders for the ol' self esteem. /r/fitness, /r/gainit, /r/loseit, /r/frugalmalefashion, and /r/malefashionadvice is a great guide for us baldies!

Also, one of these types of razors and shaving oil really help the clean bald look.

If you do intend to shave, use Shave secret, you can buy it in the shaving isle near the man stuff, it's aaammmmzzingggg. just don't get it near your clit area it irritates it slightly, due to the menthol/tea-tree in it : )

I have this and it work remarkably well - just take it off the hanger and put it under the hot water for ~5 seconds and it stays fog free for my whole shave: http://www.amazon.com/The-Shave-Well-Company-Mirror/dp/B004VFXVJW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333680962&sr=8-1

Also, if you've never tried this stuff, I highly recommend it : http://www.amazon.com/SHAVE-SECRET-SHAVING-OIL--18-75ML/dp/B0023XF60Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1333681059&sr=1-1

I don't have balls but I use oils for all my shaving need. I have sensitive skin and it's been the best option for me.

I'm as surprised as you are, but shave secret actually works wonderfully for me. I mix it with a few drops of vegetable glycerin to give a little extra slickness.

u/redrider65 · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

What others have said, but I'll throw in:

  • change blades back to Astra
  • don't face lather; use a bowl
  • try a pre-shave oil like Shave Secret; read the reviews
  • coat the area with a little Nivea Creme, like granma used; very protective and helped me a lot years ago when I was noob--got the tip from a poster on shaveden.

    Good luck; let us know.

You know what's great for shaving your swimsuit area? Shave Secret. That thing is amazing.

u/Frozenfire42 · 1 pointr/malegrooming

Shave Secret Shaving Oil.

Best thing to ever happen to me with shaving. So much less mess and it's so much easier to deal with than shaving cream every day.

http://www.amazon.com/SHAVE-SECRET-SHAVING-OIL-18-75ML/dp/B0023XF60Q

You can get it at WalMart and it's super lower cost.

u/Noyes654 · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

I got my first taste by going to the local pharmacy store, picking up the VDH Starter Kit, a Styptic pencil, some Shave Secret, and bag of two blade disposables. After about a week, I went back and got aftershave lotion and went to Bath&Body Works and got some C.O. Bigelow.

Just last week I finally decided to take the next step and I ordered a basic Lord DE, Blade sampler, and a nicer Brush. I can't wait for this all to come in. giddy

I hate shaving, but I generally look best clean-shaven. Here’s my 2 tips to make the process as easy as possible.

  1. Shave in the shower. There’s no cleanup, and it makes for less razor burn.

  2. Use this stuff. They say you can use it in place of shave cream, but don’t do that. Use it underneath shave cream. You only need 2-3 drops to cover an entire face so it lasts a while. It keeps your face lubed up during the shave making for less nicking. I go over my whole face once, and then if there are any spots that don’t look right, I can just fix them real quick without needing to reapply cream.

I use a safety razor with regular razor blades. I bought 200 years ago and I still have plenty. Sometimes when I’m feeling kingly I use the disposable BIC two blade razors (without the lube strip). Those are a much easier to use, and while cheap, are still more expensive than a safety razor.
