can i use one of these to use with this headset with the adapter for chat and game sound?

Here ya go. This will be the best bang for your buck. Mute your tv, blast the volume through your headset.

I've had these for a while now, and couldn't recommend them enough.

Would you recommend these? Because I've been looking for a new headset after using my current one, (Turtle Beach X12's) for about 5 or 6 years now. I was really wanting to get this Steel Series Headset. I'm almost purely a PC gamer, and only use my console for singleplayer games now. Any suggestions? I really would like one that has the same durability that this turtle beach X12 headset has that I use currently, while being a little bit more comfortable.

i think more do but not sure. You will need an adaptor (25$) for these to work, there may be newer model that doesnt require this. I have mine hooked to my XBONE and PC - So i get chat for game but can still watch tv. Downside is low to no game sounds... Thinking i can get a splitter. If your just using for XBOX/ONE - http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Gaming-Headset-Amplified-Xbox-360/dp/B00E5UHSX8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1412948552&sr=8-8&keywords=turtle+beach+xbox+one With the adaptor http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00IAVDOS6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1412948552&sr=8-3&keywords=turtle+beach+xbox+one

Just pick up one of these - http://www.amazon.com/Force-Channel-Dolby-Surround-Processor-Mac/dp/B003O0KICS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1407870430&sr=8-2&keywords=dolby+headphone+amp

And a set of these - http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Gaming-Headset-Amplified-Xbox-360/dp/B00E5UHSX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407870461&sr=8-1&keywords=earforce

I moved to just using headphones last fall and this setup is freaking AMAZING. I use it for movies and gaming. Beats the pants off of any speaker set up you could have, and doesn't bother anyone.

The Ear Force DSS 7.1 processor uses Dolby Headphone technology to map 5.1 discrete channels to headphones and it's ridiculously effective. You won't believe it.

And it doesn't feel like you have the sound right on top of you. You'll take your headphones off to make sure your speakers aren't blaring.

Just be sure you get the OLD version of the processor, the new one isn't nearly as good and dropped the Dolby Headphone tech in lieu of whatever else they replaced it with. The good news is, you can pick them up used for CHEAP.
