probably a shit suggestion because I'm not actually experienced with removing pins from door hinges.
but a roll pin punch set might help with removing pins on some types of doors. Although I'm going to guess that clearance can be a big problem in most cases.

a center punch might help with driving the pins back in too. Since it should leave a dimple and is less likely to walk off with successive hits from a hammer.
Also helps to hold both with a vise grip (maybe a needle nose for you) in tighter areas.
