I think for specifically what you're looking for, a custom piece from etsy will probably be the best bet. HOWEVER...I'll share an anecdote: my FH decided he wanted a tungsten ring, so we went shopping at a jeweler. The clerk helping us kept trying to sell us gold or platinum, and when we told him we were firmly decided on Tungsten, he confided that we should buy through Amazon, since it was the exact same thing for 1/10th of the price, and that the owner of the store even sometimes ordered from Amazon when his supplier didn't come through in time, and then would just mark up the tungsten a crap ton.

So, I went on Amazon and sure enough I found the exact ring FH and I had looked at for an insanely lower price. I bought it, and then saw the exact same style in titanium. Since they were so inexpensive and Amazon is so awesome, I decided to order both and let my FH try them on and decide which he liked best, with the intent to return the other(s) (but of course, did I follow through? No. FH has six band options sitting in my house now, lol).

Anyway, FH tried the tungsten on one hand and the titanium on the other, and surprised us both after a few hours saying he liked the titanium better. SO, it might not be a bad idea to order a titanium ring on Amazon if you can find one cheap and letting your FH compare the feel/weight of the rings!

Yes, it will heal by itself, but you MUST stop picking at it. Try to find another outlet of that physical frustration. For Christmas, my girlfriend got me a ring that's spins. There are a bunch of similar rings, and at least this one is really fun to spin. I plan to get more.

She also bought me Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty. This actually helps probably more than the ring while I'm at work, where I'm a programmer, so I sit at a computer all day. I've found that I'm most likely to pick at my nails while mulling over a difficult problem, but that having a ball of this in one hand really helps ease my nerves.

HOWEVER, I do have a tip that helped me finally stop biting my fingernails(I know it's not the same, but it's a similar habit in nature) after ~8 years of it:

• Get a spinner ring. (That's four separate links; the last two would be my first choices)
  
  I can't stress enough how helpful these are. They give you something to focus on, and they're just generally fun to have. Plus, not many people have them, so they're a good conversation starter. I've been asked by 50+ people about mine in the year or two I've had it.

The description in general seems like a nice read.

The ring is likely sticking to your finger not because of the material, but because of skin oils, sweat and moisture that build up underneath the ring. That's a sign that the ring is a good fit without being overly snug.

If you're fidgety and have a common size, you can opt for a spinner ring which use a separate metal band inside of a channel which can spin freely. You can also try a silicone ring which should fit tightly, but will be stretchy so you can easily take it on or off.

Should be delivered 7/8, so I'll update with opinions, but I just ordered this silicone ring for $20. My real one is Damascus steel and I don't want to wear it to the gym in particular in case the weight grips scratch it up. The whole appeal of the Damascus was the cool patterns. This one looked like a good stand in.

Edit: just got it in. It's an 8, my regular ring is a 7.75. This one actually feels more snug. It's comfortable though and definitely won't slip off and I won't care if it gets damaged. It's basically just a grey rubber band.

I love these! I bought my fiance this steel one to wear on his right hand as an engagement ring and he says he might just keep it as the wedding band too. :)

I would say you are probably looking for something like the "think pen", but as a tutor I have had lots of success with gifting fidget rings to ones that need to constantly move. They don't get lost easy and they are always around. Kids even take them off so they can move both pieces and keep both hands busy. I notice a huge difference in the ones that I have given them to.

Take a look at tungsten, titanium and stainless steel bands on amazon. Some are as cheap as 2-10 bucks each and they come in a bunch of designs. Most can pass for silver and some can have a gold finish.
