I decided to take the plunge on a pair of Cherry Blossoms when a local skate/shoe shop was closing down. Since then I've been on a tear, buying at least one pair every week.

Fortunately, I've gotten every pair at under retail and have only spent $335 on all 7 pairs. The cheapest were the royal blues at just $25 and the most expensive were the CBs at $80.

My grails would be probably be the MF Dooms, but I'll never pay $4-500 for them.

I'm really looking forward to the Black on Black on Gum. They are available on Amazon, but not locally for some reason.

Even more cherished than my dunks would be Lucy the golden doodle that I threw in for that sweet karma.

u/blinkme123 · 2 pointsr/volleyball

my first pair was some basic black asics men's shoes (this was in 2011 and even then there was not much variety in men's vball shoes), next was black Mizuno wave lightning RX, then red/white/blue RX3, and now this pair of adidas.

I like my adidas the best overall, but i'm a stickler for having a lot of traction (sticky sole) and the asics were the best in that regard for me.

Why dont you go to a local sportswear shop and test them? They might even accept your gift card, or give you Nike's sinstead of Adidas, at least thats what they will do to me from time to time.
Between my Adidas Ace 16+ Tkrz size 44 2/3 EU = 10 1/2 US and my Nike Tiempo size 45 EU = 11 US it's about half a thumbs width what makes the difference. If you play on AG or Turf I really can recommend the tkrz.

Yeah, you can't play singles in these. If you wanna flex in a casual mixed doubles league, they are fine.

The Rafa's are the Ballistics, honestly they are basically just the KDs, or really the KDs are based off of the Rafas, tbh.

The Feds are called like Air Vapor 9.5 or something like that. They are what I was playing in for awhile until they rereleased the Sampras shoes. The Sampras shoes are still my favorite pair for singles man, and if you wanna flex in the Oscillate Safaris, you will look baller AF: https://www.amazon.com/Nike-Mens-Air-Oscillate-BLACK/dp/B014QMBXNK

By the way, not sure if you were aware but they made a Jordan Black Cement 3, Federer Air Vapor mashup shoe: https://www.amazon.com/Nike-Zoom-Vapor-AJ3-709998/dp/B002OBCQN2/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1468435324&sr=1-1-fkmr0&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=vapor+9.5+aj3

Can you tell I get pumped when I find a sneaker head that also plays tennis?

Indoor soccer shoes are great (like actual soccer shoes just minus the cleats, not "soccer style" shoes). Generally cheap online and come in any color combination you could ever want.

I have these. They work perfectly for Squat and Deadlift. (Thats an older model, so not many sizes remain for that particular one. Mostly just posting to give you an idea of the type of shoe I mean.

Since we're giving shoe advice....

feelin' like buying these what do you think??

Edit: You guys know this is a le joke, right??? I feel like everyone is losing respect for me. And... fair enough lmao, but I have slightly better taste than toeshoes

u/FloryanDC · 2 pointsr/volleyball

MB here....these bad boys are the best vball shoe I've ever had.
These shoes are MT's...meaning they are ''middle tops''. The ankle support is half way between a high top (basketball shoe) and a low ankle (mizuno vball shoes).

The middle tops gives me tons of ankle support without being too much like basketball shoes. Makes getting into position for blocking a breeze. These are also light weight so you don't sacrifice vert.

Keep painting that 10 foot line brotha!

I'm 6'0 185 pounds looking for new shoes. I mainly play off the ball, run a lot in transition, and crash the boards hard on both ends. I recently sprained my right ankle badly for the second time in the past 2 years and I'm trying to take a lot better care of it this time around, starting with a new pair of shoes. I was wearing some Zoom Ascentions (these) that are a couple years old and did not really like anything in particular about them. Cost isn't a concern right now, just really looking for a general reccomendation with good ankle support since I've never owned a decent pair of basketball shoes before. Thanks.

This is what I'm linking, sorry if it's a lot, it's the item I want most

or the blue phone case would be perfect as well. Thanks for the contest! :D

> I heard that the Asics Domain have a better covering over the toe for epee hits.

That was true of the Gel Domain 2:

but is not true of the current model 4:

It's too bad. The GD 2 was seriously the best fencing shoe I ever wore. It was awesome.

Air Jordans are a very successful brand of athletic shoes and tend to be priced at the higher end of the market. (Note, I'm not a sneakerhead so those might be out of stock elsewhere and thus selling at an extra premium).

African Americans spend more than average on footwear. As a percentage of expenditures it's double that of whites and slightly higher than Hispanics. The suggestion is that athletic shoes like Air Jordans make up a disproportionate portion of the gap.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Supposed gimmick or not, you may have paid even more than I did for your pair of Air Max

What I mean is, VFFs are within the price range for a normal running shoe. No use condemning them as a marketing gimmick; regardless of whether they help cure the common ailments that have plagued traditional shoe'd runners, they are still a valid and perfectly fine shoe for a variety of things.

u/johnomuller · 1 pointr/football

Depending on how much you want to spend, and how much you have in gift card, also your shoe size would be a factor too.

Adidas boots are pretty bulletproof and F10s are usually cheap

u/sp668 · 8 pointsr/squash

Please consider getting a pair of court shoes. You'll move much better and the chance of injury will be way lower. You can get a cheap pair of asics gel rockets for a good price for instance:

Couldnt you use those for general gym shoes as well?

u/Consciousness01 · 1 pointr/Basketball

a couple of guys i play with wear Ektio's. one of the guys was raving about the ankle support. i don't know about their weight, but he's quick if it helps any.

I would also recommend D rose boost 6. Solid shoe for basketball outside or inside with similar style

u/theGreekViking · 1 pointr/Fencing

I'm looking at these right now. I'm thinking it's a good balance of cheap and bright yellow.

I know this particular model is outdated, but you might still be able to find a pair. I really like the Puma Evospeed 5 AG cleats. They are specifically for artificial grass, with extra studs that are longer than classic turf shoes. For me, the grip has been solid and comfortable, and the added studs reduce stress on the feet. I highly recommend artificial grass cleats rather than classic turfs. I wear them on the field turf with fake blades of grass and little rubber pellets.

Amazon does have some VFF lookalikes.
