(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best vacuum attachments & brushes

I use the Bissell Spotclean Pro, which is portable, and love it.

Here's a thorough comment I posted about it a few weeks ago:

I looked at both of those and decided to go with the Bissell Spot Clean Pro because it comes with a 6" cleaning head a 3" cleaning head. I also ordered the crevice tool attachment for $8.

From what I could tell, the Rug Doctor came with only one cleaning head and it's pretty large. It did not look like it would be useful for the nooks and crannies of cars.

I've had it about 6 months and used it to clean many carpeted car mats, about 6 full car interiors (carpets, mats, cloth seats, NOT headliners) and it's performed admirably.

For a sedan with cloth seats you probably can get away without refilling it. For an SUV, you will have to refill once. It only takes a few minutes.

In addition, it has many household uses. I've cleaned both of our large couches/cushions, stairs, and a couple area rugs.

I've gotten more than its price in use already.

The only minor complaint I'd have is the hose is a bit short, you're going to have to bring it in the car/SUV with you at times. But for its price point, that's to be expected.

Just be sure to clean it out thoroughly after every use. I always fill a bucket with clean warm water when done and just set the cleaning head in there and turn it on until the tank fills up. Then empty everything out to dry.

The Compact C1 series is designed to replace the Classic series (the Miele website only shows one model from the Classic series), so you will be getting effectively the same machine but newer. The Pure Suction model can't be paired with an electric head because it doesn't have the power connectors in the hose. You would have to at least buy a new hose if the machine supports it at all, and even the cheapest electrobrush head (the 217) is going to cost $150 USD, pushing your total to $450. At that price point, there are two models that are better than the C1 Pure Suction. On the lower side, you could go with the Compact C1 HomeCare that is only sold by dealers. This one has a turbobrush (not an electrobrush), but that should work so long as the short-yarn pile is fairly loose. I'm not sure about the exact price, but the one at my dealer is around $300. If you can afford to go up slightly in price, then I would recommend the C1 Delphi. It has the basic 217 electric brush and is upgradable to the 228 or 236 brush if you ever get hi-pile carpets. It also comes with the Parquet Twister (a $66 value) which is essential for hardwood floors and is orders of magnitude better than the multihead that comes with the Pure Suction (I have both).

I'm not sure of the exact size of my brush, but it's something like this, and the width is at most 1/4", but I think it's actually a bit smaller. It's really small and fine, and easy to maneuver around my cuticles.

I use a Hoover WindTunnel Air which does a really good job of sucking up all the dog fur from my carpets. Only complaint is that I typically have to empty the canister multiple times as it fills up quickly (my husky/shar-pei/mutt sheds a lot of fur). Hoover also makes pet attachments that fit that vacuum, but they don't come with it. I find that the [Cyclonic Pet Upholstery Tool](http://www.amazon.com /Hoover-UH70085-Windtunnel-Cyclonic-Upholstery/dp/B00F9GPQ2M/ref=sr_1_1?s=vacuums&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=Hoover+windtunnel+pet+attachments) does a great job of removing fur from upholstered furniture, if you use it properly (run it side to side, so the rubber blades are making a squeegee kind of motion).

I use a attachment on my vacuum that spins and works fantastic for German Shepherd hair. Dyson attachment.

I actually like this attachment. There’s tons of brands. This has adapters KKPOT Universal Vacuum Dusty Brush,Duster Cleaning Attachment Tools with Soft Tube, Vac Hose Accessories Dirt Remove Parts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HNWFY77/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_RJBUBbH127A1Z they all work the same. A piece of plastic with tubes to suck up dust. Having holes the tubes go in increases the suction power. Why not 5 stars on all of them? You need to find one that fits your vacuum, that one has adapters. Secondly the tubes after a while will Fall out. Usually only one and you can stick it back in. Great for dusting and getting up little things without worrying it’ll suck up everything else. I like it for getting in cracks. That’s just one brand. In case you need another option.

We also have a sebo felix. They have a powered handheld attachment that works great on stairs! You can remove the powerhead or parquet brush and it becomes infinitely lighter - that's what the handle on the side is for. You can even get a shoulder strap if you have a ton of stairs.

Looks interesting, I'm tempted to buy one and try it out. Trouble is, with a small house like mine, having one floor tool that ONLY works on hard wood is kinda impractical. I like using this because it works really well on hard floor and pretty damn well on carpet.

Thanks for the suggestion. For clarification on the brush, are you talking about a brush like the Miele Parquet brush that I could get a cheaper option of? Specifically, a brush made for hardwood floors?

Be sure to check your vacuum attachment size!! This is not a "universal" fit, every vacuum hose size is different.

Definitely need a regulator. There's nothing on the airbrush that will control the airflow so you're blasting probably 47psi through your brush. Though you shouldn't need to spend that much on the regulator. This should work, though you may need a thread adaptor to match it up to the compressor. Badger's is only a little more expensive and should work without an adaptor.

And just for general knowledge, most airbrushing should be done in the 12-20, maybe 25, psi range. I spray Alclad and thinned lacquers as low as my regulator will allow me. If you're spraying thicker stuff, like aqueous acrylics, you'll need to be on the higher end of that range.

But I just moved into a place thats 100% hardwood and the standard head wasn’t doing the trick. Then of course I found out they sell a specialty head for $180+...

Also the circle thingy is called the "massage cup" and can be used to unclog drains in blower mode and change lightbulbs.

Just bought a V8 for $350 and it doesn't even come with a simple plastic hardwood floor tool. WTF is that about. I'm looking at these two things...
