Thank you so much for the contest!

For me gift one would have to be this vaccuum because my apt reaaaaaaally needs it :P like my current vac is older than I am.

And gift two would be awesome if it could be a GC towards the New chromebook I'm trying to buy causw my current laptop is on its last leg :P

EDIT: If I was dreaming big I'd link the laptop that's in my 'I wish I could afford' list but its over $200 so I can't justify posting it lol.

C'mon gimmie... :P you guys are awesome!

It took about 3 hours. I didn't have work today and it was a beautiful 75 degrees and sunny out... windows down and sunroof open for a fun drive. I planned on stopping at the Goodwill and Salvo (ones I had never been to before) but they were closed for the holiday, do'h!

I stopped at a Meijer and picked up one of these for $30, three of these for $30 each, and one of these for $27. Earlier today I picked up a wireless Rockband Fender Strat for the 360 for $4 from my local Goodwill, so it was a pretty successful day IMHO.

Hope you want a Miele or Sebo. That's the only thing this sub us gonna recommend you. Normally this is followed by me recommending a Kirby. But this time I have good reason. Kirby has a brushroll made specifically for pet owners. A Kirby is also super powerful, agitates almost violently, and they're built like Mack trucks (unfortunately they're heavy as one too). Definitely won't let you down, and almost all of the parts from the 1998 G5 forward are interchangeable, ie brushrolls, belts, the fan, et cetera.

This is the wood brush. Looks like the bristles are plastic, but the white bristles are firm and the black are soft and they are fine with all but very delicate items.

This is the lint brush. If you brush against the nap of the fabric it does really well. I use this one more often, but I have cats and I imagine it might be different with a dog.

I've heard from friends with dogs that the hair removal gloves have worked well for them, too.

You sound super cheap so here's a super cheap turbo head

If you need a better quality one then just splurg for the Turbocat Zoom (not the older turbocat with the geared belt)

The person who installed that central vac probably spent between 1300-2000 and you're treating it like a 100 walmart special. It has way more power and is healthier than any other vacuum you're going to buy.

I'm not sure of the exact size of my brush, but it's something like this, and the width is at most 1/4", but I think it's actually a bit smaller. It's really small and fine, and easy to maneuver around my cuticles.

Yeah I found the belt and bag pretty easily at least. I just wasnt sure if this vacuum falls under the same line as the rest of the Hoover convertible models or not. They look very similar on the under side I just didnt want to assume anything. I found this one on Amazon you think this would work? Hoover H801 Brushroll, 2 Row B Brng Convertible/Decade Wood https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DW5MZ9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-V1SCb659D539

We also have a sebo felix. They have a powered handheld attachment that works great on stairs! You can remove the powerhead or parquet brush and it becomes infinitely lighter - that's what the handle on the side is for. You can even get a shoulder strap if you have a ton of stairs.

It's the turbo brush head: https://www.amazon.com/SEBO-6179DA-Vacuum-Turbo-Brush/dp/B004MASKQU

For your budget I'll go with a Badger Patriot 105 Arrow, it's so easy to use and clean and the Arrow will give you a fine line if needed. A cheap compressor with a tank and a quick connect and you're good to go !

Badger Patriot Arrow : https://www.amazon.com/Badger-Air-Brush-Co-105-2XR-Airbrush/dp/B00471RFQA/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=badger+patriot+105&qid=1567304916&s=gateway&sprefix=badger+pa&sr=8-5

Quick connect Badger for all hose : https://www.amazon.com/Badger-Air-Brush-Co-51-038-Disconnect/dp/B000BPOJCO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=badger+quick+connect&qid=1567305182&s=gateway&sprefix=badger+qui&sr=8-3

Cheap Compressor : https://www.amazon.com/ZENY-Airbrush-Compressor-Airbrushing-Multipurpose/dp/B01M33C8MV/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=airbrush+compressor+with+tank&qid=1567305014&s=gateway&sprefix=airbrush+compressor+&sr=8-3

With airbrush cleaner and thinner, and a cleaner pot, I think I fit your budget.... You can use the standard Badger Patriot 105 but the needle is .75mm instead of .5mm so you get less fines lines

Definitely need a regulator. There's nothing on the airbrush that will control the airflow so you're blasting probably 47psi through your brush. Though you shouldn't need to spend that much on the regulator. This should work, though you may need a thread adaptor to match it up to the compressor. Badger's is only a little more expensive and should work without an adaptor.

And just for general knowledge, most airbrushing should be done in the 12-20, maybe 25, psi range. I spray Alclad and thinned lacquers as low as my regulator will allow me. If you're spraying thicker stuff, like aqueous acrylics, you'll need to be on the higher end of that range.

Dude, I went through the vacuum AMA too, and browsed /r/buyitforlife for like two hours, and read Amazon reviews and videos and oh my god. What I realized was that dammit, I want bagless and I don't want a damn canister vacuum that I have to drag around with me. Enter: Electrolux Nimble Brushroll Bagless Upright. Mmmm, so good.

u/holocause · 2 pointsr/airbrush

If you already have the hose that comes with those China airbrushes (1/8 size). You will need this adapter to be able to fit your badger appropriately to the hose you already have.

A more convenient and practical solution though is to get a Iwata QD set

and then just get a Badger QD adapter. The reason being that 1/8th fittings are more commonly used by more airbrushes (Iwata, Chinese made, GREX, Harder&SteenBeck, Mr.Hobby, Tamiya) than Badger's fittings. Sticking with 1/8th gives you more options and it is better that your Badger adapt to the 1/8th fittings rather than the other way around where you have your China and other airbrushes adapt to Badger's fittings.

Also, for these QD and coupler attachments. I advice you buy the real branded ones from Iwata and Badger. Do not settle for those unknown China branded ones as they leak air horribly.

A vacuum attachment like This is what I use. Works well for getting dust/loose dirt off of many surfaces.

u/performancereviews · 2 pointsr/VacuumCleaners

That's so cool that you have an apartment with a central vacuum. This makes so much sense. Unfortunately not something I would ever be offered in the US.
here is a central vacuum kit and brand I prefer. Not sure if the Amazon Link works in Canada if not it here's what to Google.
Wessel-Werk EBK-360 Power Nozzle

I suppose it depends on what you have

I've got this and it is heavy as fuck and powerful enough to destroy things if you aren't careful, basically the bottom half of a high quality upright connected to a hose

https://www.amazon.com/Miele-Electro-Premium-Full-Size-Electrobrush/dp/B0017PSJD2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503338008&sr=8-1&keywords=miele+236

I'm gonna wager that an 1100 dollar miele canister is better than a large portion of uprights on the market
