In complete seriousness, I recommend making sure you're taking vitamin C and niacin supplements. Both help with mood.

For the niacin, as annoying as it is, get the non-flush variety. BUT! Start with a very very low dose (seriously like 25mg). If you feel a slight "rush" for about ten minutes and the skin around your face, neck, and maybe even shoulders and chest turns slight pink, but none of it is too bad, you've found your dose. The next time you take it, it'll be less pronounced, until it just stops happening. Then, up your dose. Continue to do this until you're at a few thousand mg a day, depending on your needs.

This helps me immensely. I always screw it up by forgetting to take it for a few days or a week, and then I basically have to start over again with the dosage. But that's my fault, not the supplement's. ;)

I recommend looking into these (that's not a referral link and I am not a shill of any kind). :)

Edit: This article might be helpful! :)

Again, I invite you to show evidence that there's any nutrient required by cats that can't be acquired without meat or other animal products.

However, just to make it clear that I'm not dodging the point with my previous post I will proactively address the nutrients mentioned in the source you linked:

For example, cats require vitamin A in its pre-formed state, they can't make it from beta-carotene the way humans or dogs or rabbits can.

Ami Cat plant based cat food contains pre-formed vitamin A.

They have little ability to form niacin from tryptophan.

Vegan niacin is readily available: https://smile.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Time-release-niaxtend-Non-GMO/dp/B0041SFOY4/

The food I mentioned previously also contains such B vitamins.

They have a high requirement for taurine, which is found almost exclusively in animal flesh.

Humans have been able to synthesize taurine for many years. The food I mentioned previously contains adequate taurine.

Arginine, also found in animal flesh, is so critical to the cat that a meal without it can lead to death.

Vegan arginine is readily available: https://smile.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Sustained-Immediate-L-Arginine/dp/B001UY2918/

Evolution plant based kibble has added arganine. It meets AAFCO standards which include arganine as a required nutrient.

Ami Cat (the food I mentioned previously) doesn't explicitly state added arginine in its ingredients, however it uses pea protein powder that is high in arginine. Per 100g, pea protein has more arginine than human muscle tissue. Ref: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00726-018-2640-5

Fortunately, all meat sources have plenty. Simply put, cats must eat meat to live.

Simply put, but factually wrong. Humans are capable of making any nutrient cats require without meat or other animal ingredients.

It is fair to say that there are some risks involved in feeding cats a plant based diet and it may even be correct to say that it's not optimal. However, it's just not correct to say that cats simply require meat - period, full stop. That's effectively the same thing as saying meat is magical, which isn't a position a rational person would take.

I got this one and I think it will last me forever.
The flush is REAL though. I almost had to call out of work when I popped two and ate a banana. Literally sat in the bathroom running water over my face.

> IDK it said on websites that I had been on. im so confused right now, will just taking niacin help the overmethylation? i thought you had to take a few supplements. and what is the no flush kind mean?
>

"not the no-flush kind". normal b3. you want to flush as thats the one that absorbs methyls. here is an example https://www.amazon.com/Carlson-Labs-Niacin-50mg-Tablets/dp/B003BVICHS/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492399504&sr=8-1&keywords=carlson+niacin+50+mg

It's actually somewhat difficult to find regular (flushing) niacin at your local grocery/convenience store. Most places sell the non-flushing type. This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/Solaray-Niacin-Capsules-500-Count/dp/B0011FWEMU/ref=sr_1_13_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479612494&sr=1-13&keywords=niacin&th=1

Try this

Take 3 tablets after a meal. You'll probably get some flushing, but it's a damn fine burn.

I take one of these a day https://www.amazon.com/Rugby-Niacin-500-1000-Tabs/dp/B003H5SXDQ?th=1. Some days I light up and get asked if I have a sunburn. It doesn't feel great but it's 30 min of discomfort every once in awhile to give me an edge on the battle with my brain. It's well worth it to me.

> Link? Is it mixed with other stuff or pure? I see a lot of combo products.
