Phenylpiracetam is more of a nootropic/stimulant... it sounds like you are looking more for supplements to improve your general health/mood/well-being. Phenylpiracetam is great for a one-time pick me up but tolerance to the stimulant effects builds after a couple days (quicker than even caffeine), and there is even a minor crash (nothing in the realm of amphetamines but a crash nonethelesss). I would steer clear of this -racetam for daily use.

If you want supplements to improve mood and energy levels, cordyceps is great. I take 1g a day in the mornings and I can really notice a mood boost and increased wakefulness throughout the day. It can be a little pricey, but it is one of the few supplements that has a noticeable impact on my day. And unlike with phenylpiracetam, the effects appear to get better and better the more you take it - no crash, no tolerance. Make sure you pick a good, reliable brand. Nootropicsdepot is the only place I use for mushroom extracts. They also have some of their items listed on amazon if you prefer to purchase using that route, just search 'nootropicsdepot cordyceps' in the search bar. They source from RealMushrooms, so you could also go that route if you want. You really want pure, unadulterated, tested extracts, so I would highly recommend paying the extra money to get their products.

As for D3, I usually take 5000IU a day but it is generally recommended to take 2000IU (I just personally think that is too low, especially during the winter months). Check out Examine's article on it. I take this brand from amazon. Its cheap, has around 500 doses (if you want to take 2000IU, their bottle has the dosing around half that), and has Vitamin K2 MK7, which pretty much everybody is deficient in.

I don't take ZMA, don't really think anybody needs to but if you want to take it and find that it helps you, I'm not stopping you!

As for other additional supplements you might want to take - I would look into Rhodiola Rosea (great for reducing fatigue particularly related to physical activity and stress, minor stimulant effect, reduces anxiety), and of course the good ol' fish oil. Maybe look into yohimine and ALCAR as well! Creatine is great, definitely good that you take that.

I was gonna sit back and just read this stuff like a some sort of normie reddit spy-master. This one \^ does me very well because my body can tolerate MK7 very well but NOT the MK4. You want to get all three fat-soluble vitamins if you can in one pill like an ADK supplement. Here is one with all of the forms of K2, but it is expensive and has Mk4, it's from a company called Bulletproof, they sell some really high quality supplements but they are usually super expensive. - Omega 3's usually don't really go well with me, but I do like to use them sometimes just to see how I react for fun almost like doing a drug. It really surprises me to hear anyone on this site say that they, ''really didn't notice a difference'', for me it is always makes me feel like I'm melting on a snow-cone from low-blood pressure, but everyone is different. I also find that most people who can tolerate omega3's quite well already have a good amount of weight on their body, whereas I only weigh around 145lbs and I'm 19 years old with an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. You can never go wrong with Vitamin ADK, and some good old magnesium. Here what everyone should consider supplementing and they can see what works for them. Sorry to kind of leave you hanging, but I should mention the D3 cream was pretty important to my healing.
The specific cream is this one below. You can read the user reviews and see that it is pretty amazing. Pretty much everybody that bought it for a skin issue gave 5 star reviews, while people that took it foolishly to raise serum vitamin D levels generally rated it lower resulting in a net 4 star review.

Many of the reviews are for psoriasis or eczema with a few that mention seb derm. Note that these are all on the same spectrum so what works for one usually works for the other. Plain dandruff is also on the spectrum. It kind of goes in this order: dandruff<seb derm<psoriasis (eczema is the same but sort of a different animal that might only respond to hydrocortisone, etc.)
This cream doesn't smell wonderful so should be applied at night. As you rub it completely in you might notice your outer layer of skin coming off in tiny little balls, like it is some sort of gentle exfoliant.
Vitamin D promotes skin differentiation and decreases skin proliferation, is the end result triggered by the root cause which is some sort of inflammation. Here is a quote from a study I read about a year ago. I'm sorry I didn't copy/paste the source when I originally found it.

and...you can substitute the word "seb derm" when you see the word psoriasis.

There is also a progesterone cream that you might try in addition to the D cream, although i cannot vouch for it. Lauric acid is in coconut oil. Raw coconut oil is very heavy and my skin personally can't tolerate it to be left on or it breaks me out.

Quick note: I know this is long and it seems to have nothing to do with your question, but stick with me. (or read the TLDR at the end)

I agree with with both OtherMadness and Pumpinator.

I lost the love of my life 10 years ago by acting like your husband is currently acting and I can say that even if the job has gotten harder/busier/etc, job stress is just an excuse. I didn't know it at the time, but I was depressed.

Since she left me, I've spent the past 10 years of my life in that same funk, frequently sleeping till noon because I saw no point in getting up. (I loved her, but I certainly got over her long ago, so it wasn't depression from losing her.) I let my career and subsequent relationships (both romantic and friends) go to ruin because I just didn't care about anything other than basic survival (and even then, that seemed pointless.)

My saving grace was that I've always been an avid reader. Over the past few years, the mounting evidence that everyone is Vitamin D deficient and the list of ills that it seems to cure caught my attention. There are many articles, here are just a handful:

  • Current RDA was calculated incorrectly and is 1/10th what it should actually be (800IU vs 8000IU)

  • vitamin D could affect brain function

  • Most people in the modern world have lifestyles that prevent them from acquiring the levels of vitamin D that evolution intended us to have.

    In any case, after reading so many accounts of people reporting seeing such a variety of positive physical and mental changes in their life (search Reddit boards for anecdotal evidence) that I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. The top thing that caught my attention was with people saying that it cured their depression. (by this point, I started coming around to realize that maybe I was depressed... yes, I'm dense)

    So I started taking 6000IU per day. This was 4 weeks ago.

    I know this is going to sound bizarre - and if I wasn't living this and seeing the changes happen to me, I'd be extremely skeptical.

    In the past month, I've been a totally different person. I wake up early (4am for the gym), I stay up late (studying and reading), I've taken 12 weeks worth of online courses in just the last 4 weeks, my mood is totally changed and I've gone on a series of interviews to get my career and life back on track. For the first time in a long time, I feel like putting effort into life is worth it again.

    I can't guarantee that this is his problem, but the similarity of your husband's behavior to how I lost my girlfriend 10 years ago just compelled me to post a comment.

    The changes in me have been so profound that I can't stop telling family and friends about it. I know I sound like a nut, but I don't care - my life has drastically changed and I wish I could just shout this from the mountaintops so everyone could experience this for themselves.

    Some cautions:
    Vitamin D is fat soluble, so it is possible to overdose on it. You should aim to get your level above 50 ng/ml. (Most people are in the 15-35 range)

    Go and ask your doctor for a Vitamin D 25-oh blood test to establish your current levels, then start taking the high dose and get checked out again every month or two.

    You will need to find a doctor that keeps up to date on modern literature, because these findings are just coming out now and most doctors stop learning the moment they leave medical school.

    Short example:
    since the 50's we've been told that pork and eggs will give us high cholesterol. Studies in the 90's definitively squashed that myth, but doctors to this day still repeat that garbage, putting everyone's health at risk.

    So find yourself an open-minded doctor that is willing to monitor your husband every month or two if he starts taking these megadoses of Vitamin D. My nutritionist recomemends a level of 50+ ng/ml.

    I highly recomemend LifeExtension brand because they reinvest part of their profits into research. Whatever you do, make sure you look at the ingredients and avoid anything with vegetable oil or canola oil, which is literally toxic.   • Whether you think you're depressed or not, recent scientific studies have found that RDA has been 1/10th of what it should be and everyone can benefit from increasing their Vitamin D intake

  • There are still plenty of doctors who think that eating pork gives you high cholesterol even though the scientific literature from over 20 years ago refutes that. It will take years or decades for your family doctor to catch on to this new info about Vitamin D, so find a doctor or nutritionist who "gets it" and is willing to monitor your levels frequently.

Love this! Here's my progress album. The first two images are from January 5th, the middle two are from the end of December, and the last two are from February 10th.

I've made tons of changes over the last month or so, so it is a bit difficult to pinpoint exactly what helped my skin. It seems to have been a combination of many positive changes. Here is the list:

  • Moved from the dry mountain air to a place with better quality water and more humidity
  • Graduated college, which was a huge stressor and likely contributed to my breakouts. I've been getting much more sleep as a side effect of not having classes anymore.
  • Started using sheet masks daily! I stockpile Dermal Korea's Green Tea Collagen masks, but I also love their "White" mask as it helps lighten redness temporarily. I saw a huge improvement in pigmentation right when I started using the masks. They don't break me out or sting the way other sheet mask brands have, so I'm a customer for life. Plus, topical application of green tea is scientifically supported to be awesome for your skin.
  • Vitamin D supplements. I take 6,000 IUs daily of Vitafusion's D3 supplement. I decided to start taking these after doing some research on vitamin D and it's correlation to acne. Every time I go on vacation somewhere sunny, my skin is beautiful because of the sun exposure, so I thought supplementing with D would help!
  • Cut my sugar intake to a fraction of what it was before

    I also continue to use Retin-A most nights, which has been a routine staple for me for a long time, and most days I use Duac (benzoyl peroxide + clindamycin). I use Hada Labo's hyaluronic acid hydrating serum day and night, and for moisturizer I use St. Ives' collagen elastin lotion in the tub, as it doesn't have stearyl alcohol but is not based in silicones, both which are no-nos for me and make my moisturizer search a real struggle. My sunscreen is Elta MD UV Clear. I wash with Garnier Micellar water with the pink cap.

    I'm so happy with the new direction my skin is taking, because I was starting to lose hope. I hated putting on makeup because it would fucking hurt to do it, and even concealer couldn't cover up the redness of my acne. I hid out in my house as much as possible because I was so ashamed of my face. It's so nice to be out of the woods, and at this point I'm just hoping all of the scarring and PIH will continue to improve.

It sounds like you need more than just Vitamin D.

Without much context, you also sound anemic.

A full blood panel would be recommended. In the meantime I would take the following:

Take every morning/early afternoon (with a meal):

  • 5000 - 10000 IU Vitamin D3
  • 15:1 mg Zinc:Copper
  • 500 - 1000 mg EPA + DHA Omega-3 Fatty Acids (fish oil or algae oil)

    Take every evening (with a meal):

  • 200 - 400 mg Magnesium Glycinate
  • 3 -10 mg Boron
  • 1000 - 2000 mg EPA + DHA Omega-3 Fatty Acids

    Learn more about why those supplements will likely improve your health.

    Increase your calories and eat some meat, if you aren't already. Grass fed beef and organ meats are best in your case.

    If your parents don't want to buy these supplements for you, head down to a CVS and buy them yourself. Ultimately your health is your responsibility, not the responsibility of your parents or your doctor. You made a great first step by reaching out on Reddit. Build on that momentum :)

It's expensive, but it's extremely high quality. Be warned though, the pills are only 100 mg each which means that you'll need 4 of them a day. At least it's nice for splitting up doses.

Hehe yeah, sounds nice :) If you're in good physical shape and young you don't need more than the basic supplements imo.

Lots of people take double your vitamin d dose, you should probably get some stronger pills. 2000-4000 IU is the usual dose, some people take even more than that, but you can't exactly know how much you need unless you get tested. I would recommend 4000 IU for you.

The thing with supplements is that it's really worth getting some higher quality stuff, because with the cheap ones they try to cut every corner and they don't care if the product works properly or not. If you are from USA you can get some very high quality Solgar supplements from amazon for like a third of the price they cost here.

If you are in the USA it's likely the 50,000iu is ERGOCALCIFEROL and the best place for that is in the trash.Amazon have some https://www.amazon.com/Super-Strength-Spray-000-Ounces/dp/B001W3D8GW50k weekly = 7000iu daily.to average 7500iu you could alternate 1 spray one day and 2 sprays the next.one spray on odd dates and 2 sprays on even days will help you remember but spraying twice rather than once will get you up to 50ng/ml faster.
5000iu softgels work out cheaper than the sprays and are generally effective.

So I went this morning and got my blood test results. Vitamin D 25-oh test shows my level at 47.6 ng/ml.

This is the highest I've ever been - my normal, before I was purposely supplementing (getting about 2000IU per day from just my normal daily multivitamin) has never been over 35 ng/ml and at times even went as low as 16 ng/ml (rarely, but it has dipped that low.)

I specifically mention this for 2 reasons:

  • Since "adequate" or "normal range" is consdered 30-100 ng/ml, I would never have thought that going from 35 to my current level of 47 would mean much of anything or have any noticeable result. The takeaway for me is that for all the other results I'm in "normal range" for (i.e. sodium, glucose, B12, etc), it's worth playing with diet/supplements to see if raising/lowering those numbers have any practical benefits.

  • It's troubling to me the "normal range" is defined so broadly and no health practitioner (aside from my dentist/nutritionist) has ever mentioned Vitamin D to me in a serious way. If I weren't been such an avid reader and willing to experiment on myself, I may have gone my whole life thinking I was just a broken person. I feel bad for the general population that is trudging through life on a daily basis with such a simple (potential) solution within reach.

    It's important to note that I my blood was drawn on Feb 28th, so it had only been at most 3.5 weeks since I started my 6000IU/day regimen.

    As a side note, I was doing some reading and it's recommended that high doses of Vitamin D go hand in hand with Vitamin K, ( source 1 ), ( source 2 ) so as soon as I run out of my current supply of plain Vitamin D3, I think I'll be switching to Life Extension's Vitamin D and K.

Excellent! Make sure when she takes the vitamin D3 it’s with a meal containing at least 10g of fat or more as it’s fat soluble and absorption is severely hindered without it. Something as simple as a couple eggs or some avocado or cheese or even a handful of almonds, etc. also she should be taking vitaminK2 (menaquinone-7 ) as it goes hand in hand with Vitamin D. In fact a good multi for teenager girls isn’t a bad idea.

If she is D deficient the amount in there probably isn’t enough so she can add her prescription as you have to go pretty high on D to get side effects. Don’t pay attention to the daily % on labels it’s an FDA precaution for liability only. But still double check with the doctor if it’s OK for her to take that multivitamin and with that vitamin the same thing applies taking it during a meal containing fat. Glad all is ok!

I've done natural T boosters and can share some thoughts. I don't feel that they raised my T, but I didn't get labs to compare. However, I do think they gave me energy when taken before training. I've tried Test Booster 1.0 and Nugenix. The Test Booster was the more affordable and has 1,500 mg per serving and the premium priced Nugenix has 3,000 mg per serving. Both kind of felt the same in the end: more energy throughout the day.

Eventually I made vitamins and minerals my main concern and I feel I've been having ore success with that. Now, I take 1x DHEA on an empty stomach before breakfast. Definitely. 6-9 000 IU for sure if what you have is in 3000 IU a dose. It's pretty common for people to do 15-20 000 IU for several days to a week starting out when they are address low vitamin D also. It's better to take vitamin D earlier in the day too if you can, some people it affects their sleep taken right before bed.

Sports drinks are super expensive for what they are and usually loaded with unnecessary amounts of sugar.

Alternate options:

  • Coconut water (you can add in some honey or sugar too)

  • Lemon/lime + water + honey/sugar + black pepper(optional)

  • Whey protein + milk/water + sugar

    It all depends on what you're doing for your workout (resistance/endurance); if you're trying to go low calorie or if you wanna have a decent amount of calories; etc.

    A great multi is the Life Force Multi. Available on amazon for a decent price (keeping in mind that the GNC multi is a 30 day supply, and the life force is a 90 day supply).

    I would also highly recommend the addition of Vitamin D drops. Also available on Amazon for cheap. That's a full year's supply if you take 2000IU/d during the summer and 4000IU/d during the winter, for only $10. Highly recommend.

I did buy some Solar liquid Vitamin D3 a few years ago and looking back, that was 5000 IU - although it looks like they only sell 2500 IU now.

Does it have to be in a dropper for it to have an effect?

Individually, I don't think it would but My dude who gets pretty bad SAD said it helped in combination with a few things. I see. No, I would just apply the oil straight onto the skin after my morning shower and it helps with the itch for the rest of the day. When I get back from work in the evening, it starts to get itchy again and I should be applying the oil again but I get lazy and end up scratching unfortunately. :(
If youre really interested, I could get you the brand and where to get it from (Mom bought it for me, so I will have to ask her).
I dont know how much do vitamin D creams help, but i wanted to give it a shot so I bought one online with 10,000IU here. It should arrive this week hopefully.

I mean, I've used dovobet gel during my first year I was diagnosed with psoriasis and it was a miracle drug as it worked very well overnight. From what i understand, it is a steroid vitamin D analogue. So MAAYBEEEEE the non-steroid vitamin D cream i ordered might help me. No harm trying, right?

Per 1000 UI D3, it only has 25mcg of K2 (MK-7)... With these dosages my serum vitamin D levels are right around 40ng/ml which is in the ideal range for longevity (40-50).

I linked both probiotics and vitamin D which I use. For vitamin D, just place 2-4 drops per day under tongue. For probiotics, take one per day 30 minutes before meal. For me, I still think the probiotics was the one that made a difference. Also, I'm trying this new thing with oil pulling with coconut oil. Some people say it has antibacterial properties which can kill bacteria in the mouth and prevents the GI from further infection. I doubt it will make a huge difference, but it's just something else to try.
