Every year, I come home and dress up for the little kids and hand out candy all night. I don't have any costumes- I usually just improvise with colorful shirts and a crown. My favorite though was last year some little girl smiled shyly at me and I heard her say to her mom as they were leaving, "Mommy! There's a pretty angel at that house!" <3

Anywho, this year I wanted to do something a little different. I have lost almost 40 pounds since June and I wanted to show off a little and go out and feel good about myself. If you were running a Turkey Trot 5K 4 days after your marathon and decided it would be fun to run it as a turkey, which costume would you choose?

Note: It's in NJ so likely cold weather and I'd not be aiming for a PR

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

It took an hour yesterday afternoon, 2 hours last night, and half an hour this morning, but I finished the data-entry thing (along with cooking, cleaning, and putting away a bunch of stuff last night; thank you, keto stamina), so I feel triumphant. Time to drink all the coffee!

Work today will involve amendment projects, tidying my desk, and making a Kroger run. Home today will involve setting up brisket in the crock pot, sorting paper, choir practice, and seeing how much of my overdue library book I can read. Tomorrow...should have a bit more breathing room.

Weight's up, but I'm blaming ovulation for that and not fretting about it. Today will be a 2-meal day; tomorrow will be OMAD of the aforementioned brisket; Friday will probably be OMAD as well.

Ever feel like your life is one big series of checking the calendar? I noted how full October was when it was still September, and I stand by that. Next week should be calmer, buuuuut who knows?!

I've been waiting for this thread! I'm going to a company holiday party where the theme is "Enchanted Forest." The lookbook included lots of fairies and Lord of the Rings inspiration. As much as I love LotR, I don't want to veer into cosplay territory. I just bought this velvet cloak in dark green for warmth and because I've always wanted to wear a cloak. But I don't know what dress to wear under it! I have a few red velvet dresses that are perfect for holiday, but I feel like that's too much velvet (and too Christmassy). Also, is it too extra to wear a circlet? I've always wanted one but this is the only time I could wear one.

Editing to add that these parties are usually pretty swanky, but a good number of people lean into the theme. I don't think I'll be weird for showing up in a cloak. I'm also not dancing, so I don't need to worry too much about restriction of movement.
