These are my favorites.
If the dates of the reviews are different, it could also indicate a decline in quality.
If I have to limit myself to 24 colors, I prefer these woodless pencils.

Wow, no kidding these sets are expensive.
That was one of my fears too.
I tried to negate this risk as much as possible by making sure I was disassembling underneath and overturned "Really Useful Box" (awesome boxes BTW) so if this did happen then hopefully it would just hit the side and land within ~8" of the specimen.
The other thing I found really handy was an A4 sheet of fridge magnet material - really handy for all the screws and other metal bits which just stuck right on there and stayed. I could then write on the sheet with a white marking pencil to remind me of what the fuck things actually were. Especially important when drunk.
