5. QIDIANTRADE Evaporative Cooling Towel,40"x12" Snap Cooling Towel for Sports, Workout, Fitness, Gym, Yoga, Pilates, Travel, Camping & More (Blue)

    Features:
  • EXTRA LONG & MULTIPURPOSE SPORTS TOWEL, 40” long by 12” wide. It is easy to tie if you will be moving around a lot. Works like a charm as golf club head cover, cooling bandana or neck wrap. Longer inches make the towel perfect for athletes, runners, sports fans into workout, gym and fitness, females suffering with side effects of heat stress, hot flashes; patients who need cold therapy after operations, surgeries; gardeners doing yard work, mowing the lawn and workers working out in summer heat
  • CHILLS INSTANTLY, Hyper-evaporative breathable mesh material makes it easy to activate the chilling towel when you simply soak, wring out and snap it. Re-wet to reactivate it. Unlike PVA material that drys to cardboard, it is silky soft, pliable, easily folds up & fits into a gym bag. The towel stays chilled for up to 3 hours and it reduces body temperature up to 30 degrees. The soaked fabric is pleasant to touch, rather than annoyingly dripping wet. It also provides UPF 50 sunscreen protection
  • HOW IT WORKS? The super absorbent fiber weave technology of the mesh towel regulates the water inside and ensures water retention, so it’s treating it kind of like an air-conditioner, and within seconds you get cold. Like sweat on you skin, when water evaporates it cools. Any ole cotton or microfiber towel would work, but not as well design to maximize evaporative cooling or comfort. If you are sweating a lot, rinse the ‘salty water’ out from time to time. Salt reduces evaporation/cooling rate
  • IDEAL GIFT FOR ANY OCCASION - People Love it Because it is Innovative, Quick-Dry, Breathable & Machine Washable, Chemical Free, Eco-friendly & Reusable Towel - Perfect for Athletes, Therapies, Heat Stroke Prevention, Sunscreen Protection etc.

I have

  • Chill Pal PVA Cooling Towel (Ocean Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XKLYWFU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ytOmDbPB9SMQ9this

  • Chill Pal 12 in 1 Multi Style Cooling Band (Purple, Full Size) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D52VTW1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3tOmDbM1VCJKT

  • Chill Pal Mesh Cooling Towel (Twilight Purple, 12 x 40 inch) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06W9NBS28/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ivOmDbP4BJATD

They all work really well, but IMO the effects can be short lived and you frequently have to get up and wet them again. The PVA cooling towel seems to work REALLY well, I think it has something to do with the gel like consistency of the fabric. I think these are good things to have around. My heat intolerance is really bad, so every little bit helps.

Also, I have an Embr Wave device, which I find brings short bursts of relief, but it takes a while between sessions and needs to be charged often. They’re also a bit pricey.

Cold showers help a lot. When I’m overheating, even cold water doesn’t make me jump like it normally would, it feels very soothing. It’s just about finding the right temperature.

Keep cool objects against your carotid arteries (basically just keep cold or cool items on your neck).

Fans help. Use a plastic spray bottle filled with water and mist yourself. I’ve tried one of these and I actually find they work really well for me

Yes! and there's cheaper options at Target ... like a gaiam towel. (or on amazon)

I like YogiToes (amazon) better though because they have the little rubber dots and it doesnt move around like the Gaiam ones do if you brush your mat while moving around. (But you gotta pay like $20-$30 extra for those little dots).

You'd probably want to get something 68inches long. Bc sometimes it can be confusing what is mat length and what is just hand towel size.

I've tried "stickier" mats ... if you sweat like I do, only towels work. Jade Mat? Manduka? All nopes.

I did have luck with a lululemon towel mat which was basically a towel with rubber on the back. But once the rubber got sweaty ... I'd slip on the rubber part of the mat a little bit (where all the writing is). And mine is light orange. The one I linked to is lavender. So the mat gets dirty pretty easy. Its just easier to wash a towel than a mat. So I gave up on my lululemon deal.

edit: A regular towel would work too. It just doesnt line up with your mat as well and most move around a lot easier than the yoga towels would.

u/keely95 · 2 pointsr/yoga

I've always had a lot of luck with manduka yoga mats but I always put a towel on top of the mat to help with sweat resistance because I too slide around my mat. Yoga Paws have helped me alot! Here's a link if your interested. Also the yoga towel that I use it has corners that you can hook to your yoga mat so they don't slide or anything so hopefully those links well help :)

I think a really nice ballet bag would be cool. You could do a little research on what other dancers typically keep in their dance bags an fill it with goodies! Like a cool water bottle, a resistance band, a cute sweat towel, hair accessories, extra tights. I'll edit my comment with some ideas when I have a second.

Edit:
Nice gym bag,
Resistance band,
My favorite way to get a perfect bun,
Good sweat towel,
Spill proof water bottle(VERY IMPORTANT!),
Tights.

Most studios have mats you can borrow, but you will still want something of your own. At your level, any 1/4" thick mat will do. If you've got Prime, you can have one of these on Tuesday. Personally, I like to use a hand towel to reduce slipping and occasionally mop off my face. Sure, you can use whatever workout towel you use under your hands or even get a cotton hand towel at a discount store, but I went ahead and spent $10 on a genuine Yogarat hand towel (I'm also a cheapskate and use it to tie up my mat for travel rather than a bag or strap). If you aren't doing hot yoga (such as Bikram), there's no point in a mat-sized towel because it won't stick right without being just slightly damp.

Namaste!

u/SayWarzone · 2 pointsr/Interstitialcystitis

Hang in there! I was diagnosed a year ago, and I definitely get lower back pain. Ice and heat both seem to help, I am learning from my body when to use which. I got something similar to this from my local CVS and it's PERFECT - https://www.amazon.com/Back-Gel-Pack-Wrap-Microwaveable/dp/B016ISQ6XW.

Diet is everything - I cut out caffeine (honestly it was hard but I feel so much better overall having done it), tomatoes, juice, anything with a lot of acid and I notice it helps. Carbonation seems to bother me too, so I cut out soda. It sounds awful but I make herbal iced teas and I found some great natural flavors on Etsy to add to water and I really don't miss soda. And I was a slave to Diet Coke most of my life!

For me, Uribel works really well for flares. It doesn't work for everyone, but I notice relief really fast with it - faster and more complete than Azo/pyridium. I am working my way towards Elmiron, but trying everything else first because three times a day sounds like something I'll be really bad at remembering to do. I know it takes awhile to start working, but it seems to help many so keep us posted!

I have a blue Lulu mat but the black one also shows wear very easily (I know a few folks who have that one). The sweat-absorbtion quality of that Lulu mat sounds great but in practice it kind of weirds me out because it means that all of your old salty sweat is stored in the mat forever. Porous mats in general (lulu and jade) will deteriorate faster than the rubber manduka mat. Yes, it is slippery if you sweat on it a lot, but if you're doing lots of hot yoga anyway I would suggest a manduka mat and one of those hot yoga towels to go over it. You can wash and dry the towel 100% clean and wash and dry the mat 100% clean. http://www.amazon.com/Hugger-Mugger-Cotton-Yoga-Caribbean/dp/B000LGGXVS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449285341&sr=8-2&keywords=yoga+rug OR http://www.amazon.com/Limber-Stretch-Yoga-Beach-Towel/dp/B00N9J4DUC/ref=sr_1_3?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1449285378&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=yoga+towel&psc=1

Not actually what you're asking for specifically, but if your point is "I want a small, quick drying travel towel," I really love microfiber swim towels. I use them swimming, but yeah, they're really cool. They pack small, dry fast, and easily dry me off. Maybe that might work for you?

u/6foot8yoga · 5 pointsr/yoga

I think this is the one I use. I'm not sure but I got it on amazon.

Yoga Accessories(TM) Extra Wide and Extra Long 1/4'' Thick Deluxe Yoga Mat (Purple) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NFX96QI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_RlXAxbF41EYGW

I use it along with a

THE XL YOGA TOWEL for XL yoga mats: 100% Microfiber, super-absorbent, enhances grip and protects your mat. Many colors to choose from. 26" x 85" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009AZ5DDU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_8mXAxbXKA1165

These towels have good length and if you get them a little wet they have pretty good traction.

u/Phenoumenal · 1 pointr/yoga

I used to use some brand (can't remember which) that a teacher recommended but it curled up all the time and I slipped all over, being a sweaty dude who loves Bikram. However I forgot it when visiting my parents and picked up the Gaiam Travel Mat (http://www.amazon.com/Gaiam-05-52857-Travel-Yoga-Mat/dp/B0015RV6G4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1313595417&sr=8-9) and it's been a CHAMP! I thought it would be just sort of a band aid but the bottom sticks like GANGBUSTERS to the carpet and the surface never slips on me, ever. YMMV but I'm sold on Gaiam.

u/TheWonderLemon · 1 pointr/Archery

I use something similar to these (the ones I have are branded arctic chill ones, but I got them years ago when they were only $5 a pop, they seem to have gone up in price now) when it's super warm outside (in addition to a boonie hat):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K97XFO6/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_GU90CbD9RPCQN

This is a fast drying towel you wrap around your neck-- keep a bunch in a cooler soaked in cold water, then take them out one at a time and then wrap them around your neck. The fast evaporation of the water will cool you down a bit

As far as hats go, this one's a little pricey but so far it's been my favorite: https://tripleaughtdesign.com/shop/scout-rs-boonie-hat/

u/21045Runner · 1 pointr/pelotoncycle

I’d recommend the Peloton shoes and mat. The rest of the accessories are garbage

cheap yoga mat (I've had great success with the cheapest one from Amazon as long as I keep it away from cats' claws) is totally fine as long as you pair it with a towel like yogitoes. I love my yogitoes, totally fixes any sliding around problems. Only downside is they're kinda spendy

u/Sirzig · 1 pointr/BarOwners

There are plenty of ways to take care of your staff without spending your way into their good graces. I would be honest, tell them that's too expensive, and ask them if they have any other ideas.
Devises that create turbine-like movement (ex. fans) and ones that create heat use more electricity than most other things.

Honestly....these towels.
https://www.amazon.com/Microfiber-Travel-Towel-FREE-Sports/dp/B0144C2HQO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486686343&sr=8-1&keywords=trutowl
They're the BEST for showering because they soak up anything and aren't heavy to lug around. I also like them on the fields because they're so compact and easy to bring in and also if you get them wet with water they'll cool you down so easily.

u/erisedwild · 1 pointr/Narcolepsy

Man, it’s so incredibly hot this summer here; I hope you both don’t have to suffer through it again. And yeah, my Hydroflask is worth its weight in cold. I carry a 24oz every time I leave home and probably go through it 3-4 times a day.

Have you tried a cold snap sports towel, like this? I gave them out as gifts to my German friends last year and they’ve been hugely used so far this summer. I find it really nice to carry with me if I’m outside, because a quick douse of ice water from my thermos and a snap means I get something that stays cold on my neck for a good while.

u/magnumthepi · 3 pointsr/askTO

Get yourself one of those cooling towels, I've seen them in fitness stores but also places like Winners or Marshalls. They also have those fast drying yoga towels there as well.

u/thundy84 · 3 pointsr/yoga

I use these YogaRat Hand Towels

I handwash them after each class since they dry quickly enough. Honestly though, if you just use a regular hand towel, it'll work about the same. If I forget to wash my YogaRat, I use grab a regular handtowel and never had a problem. A regular handtowel might actually be more cushion for your hands if you need/like that.

u/jsaxl31 · 4 pointsr/Coachella

Cooling towels!!! http://amzn.com/B014AMQ0XO

These are a must, especially for the campground. It's a special mesh towel that stays cold for a long time after you wet it, but doesn't drip. Toss it on your friend's back when they look exhausted and dehydrated, and they will instantly be re-energized back to life and love you forever.

u/thegreatsharkhunt · 4 pointsr/Coachella

These ear plugs, these bandannas and definitely a Camelbak (the lighter the better or all his friends will ask him to carry their shit in it and that gets old, and heavy, fast). Or, if you want to do something a little different, schedule an in-hotel massage on Sunday late morning/early afternoon before he goes into the fest for the day. Seems over the top, but leaves you feeling fresh as fuck when everyone else is hurting on Day 3. I've done it with Palm Springs Massage the past few years and they do a great job.

u/cinemakitty · 2 pointsr/ChronicPain

I feel like the salt and fluids thing is surprisingly hard. I got a water bottle last year that had times marked on it and you refilled it in the middle of the day. It helped me get to my goals of 2-3 liters a day. Here’s an example (not an endorsement): Drink Your Effing Water
I keep salt packets from fast food places in my purse and just take a lick every time I fill my water bottle. Those two actions (the water bottle and choosing when to salt) have helped me be consistent.
I know we’re supposed to use compression but it’s so hot in the summer. I have a sleeve that I can Velcro around my thigh (my injury site) so that helps but I can’t walk around with it on.
When I do overheat, I’ve found the only thing that helps when I’m out and about is a cooling towel like runners use. The one I got is similar to THIS I carry it in my purse or bag always. I have a little waterproof zippy pouch for it. That’s all the advice I have. Maybe others can chime in about what works for them.
