I have one of these that I use for tying and other things. Inexpensive, rechargeable, and it does the job. Bendy wires let you position it how you like and you don't have to worry about finding batteries when you need it. Very handy little lamp.

Got 2 of these, I like them a lot.
No back light but honestly, I keep mine at zero unless it's night time, and then it's not hard to turn on a lamp. I would buy it at that price.
Buy a book light for $10 if it bothers you.
Itty Bitty Book Light has a version with a small incandescent bulb. The light is warmer and not as stark as LED light.

It works well for my Onyx Boox Note Plus (a 10.3” tablet). I clip it to the bottom chin, and rotate the UI so that’s the top. It’s also an orange-ish light, has a goose-neck bendable clip, is reasonably sturdy, charges with USB, and is $13.
Probably not exactly what you were looking for, but I use one of these usb lights. Just stick in my portable phone charger.
I use a clip on light. This lets me also use on a plane when traveling and adjust tint so sleep disturbing blue light is reduced.
