So i haven't DM'd in years, since having kids. Decided when kids were old enough i would DM Dungeon world cause of its ease and flexibility.

Oldest is only 4 but hanging out w/ other Dads i was surprised at the enthusiasm to play D&D. So i thought, why not get ready now and invite a couple over to play a oneShot while the kids played.

I pre made some characters (some like 90% e.g. leaving cleric's religion blank). But also made templates if it goes well and they want to create or modify their characters.

Plan to make a GM tin too. maybe some mini maps/tokens. or at least GM Moves, MM cards, and spare dice, & tokens.

Edit: Wow thanks everyone for the positive feedback. Sorry it took so long (3 kids and my oldest is 4!) but here is the link to everything i made so far, I wish i could give credit to the character images but i just googled them:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1hxYY_MtgvOf9xTnGawrNFhdSkTIegAra

And here are the amazon links:
The tins (make sure its the big ones)
Mini pencils
Business card sleeves

Also i've had something like this for years for cutting straight lines easy:

u/Ducttape2021 · 2 pointsr/boardgames

I have so many strong opinions about this topic!

  • 3'x5' inset table from BoardGameTables.com

  • Dice trays I made using these wooden plaques, wood stain, and some felt. I have enough of them so that they don't have to be passed around. Really keeps people from messing up board states but feels more rewarding than using a dice tower.

  • This poker chip set and these chip trays have been my main replacement for paper currency for years now. They're heavy, have decent denomination range, feel amazing to fiddle with while playing a game, and make it super simple to count things out.

  • I use these business card holders to hold multiple stacks of cards at once. Great for FFG games that go crazy with those little cards. Saves a ton of space and keeps the stacks from falling.

  • At every opportunity, I use these stackable bead containers. I buy out the inventory whenever I see them at a craft store. The threading is slightly different in thickness between the ones sold at Michael's and Hobby Lobby, which Michael's seemingly better quality overall. They are absolutely vital for Le Havre, makes setup time like 30 seconds rather than ages.
u/beSmrter · 3 pointsr/boardgames

u/slashbored covered the bulk of the options, for sure. I'll underline that each game will likely want something slightly different. At least for maximum efficiency, there isn't a one size fits all so counting 12 games and buying 12 Planos may not be the best idea.

Considering the setup, play, and clean-up processes and looking to eliminate time bottlenecks will help guide you. For example, multi-section Plano style boxes are really cool...for some things. But keeping 5 denominations of coins all in separate compartments adds a lot of clean-up time when players (or you) have to re-sort the huge pile of individual coins used throughout the game back into their individual sections. In that case, it's easier to shift all that time to the players, a few seconds here and there fishing their change out from a mixed bowl or two through out the game and reduce the clean-up to just seconds of dumping the bowl into a single ziploc.

On the other extreme, searching for one or two chits of a particular unit type in a whole pile of chits (of many unit types) is silly; multi-section boxes or GMT style counter trays are definitely the way to go.

I'd recommend must haves as:

  • set of silicon muffin cups or small condiment cups or dishes to hold bits during play

  • 6-12 single section tupperware style boxes in the 2-3" range (store all the pieces for a single player in one, pass out, play, clean-up easy-peasy)

  • 25-50 small ziplocs in two sizes, ~3x4" and ~1x2"

Other options for organization during play (links for example, rather than specific product recommendations):

  • lazy suzans or make-up caddies

  • card stands or business card holders

  • dice trays

    Inside the box:

  • alternative to Plano, off-brand bead and jewelry organizers are often thinner, lighter plastic in a greater variety of dimensions for more options and easier to fit in game boxes

  • Deck boxes, also available in several other sizes

  • Dry Vinyl Tape, only sticks to itself. Good alternative to deck boxes and really great for large tiles and map pieces, etc.

Since most of the others have given you the right answers to your questions, I thought I would elaborate more on how you could store your game as well as bling it out. I have around 6 completed campaigns at this point (so maybe 500ish hours in…holy crap that’s a lot more than I expected)

Here’s what my setup looks like: https://imgur.com/a/VMV0NqY

Card Storage and Organization: I found the broken token card organizer (https://www.amazon.com/Broken-Token-Horizontal-Organizer-Wooden/dp/B00OKRAVX0/ref=sr_1_4?crid=IC1XTR4UEYH6&keywords=broken+token+card+organizer&qid=1570577802&sprefix=broken+token+card%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-4) in a hobby lobby art supply case (https://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Storage-Organization/Storage/All-Media-Artists-Supply-Sketch-Box/p/5227) works awesome to store the cards. Hobby lobby routinely has coupons for 50% off of one item. I think I spent $20 for my case. One case will hold all of the non-gear cards for the base game (sleeved) and all of the current expansions. I bought a second one of these cases to store all of the terran, settlement events, settlement locations, gear grids, rulebooks, etc. I no longer use the original box at all.
For the gear cards, I use a coin sleeve sheet (https://www.amazon.ca/20-Twenty-20-Pocket-Collecting-Supplies/dp/B002KDNAU2/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) in a three ring binder.

For sleeves, I primarily used FFG Grey sleeves but I did back the Mage Sleeves kickstarter so I used those for the gear cards, settlement events, and settlement locations (there are likely other places to get them)

For tokens, I used these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RBB3NM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) 28mm coin holders.
For holding them on the table, I used (https://www.etsy.com/listing/611349741/token-holder-vii-for-kingdom-death?ref=shop_home_active_49&frs=1)

Highly recommend having these survival action tokens for each player as well, because it makes it very clear if you have already used the survival actions or not – There are not tokens for this in the game, these are purely helpful addons. (https://www.etsy.com/listing/663667985/survival-action-tokens-for-kingdom-death?ref=shop_home_active_13&frs=1)
Colored rings around the bases is also really helpful for remembering which character is which. The ones I purchased are no longer for sale but something like this (https://www.etsy.com/listing/579130465/identification-rings-for-kingdom-death?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=kingdom+death&ref=sr_gallery-1-7&organic_search_click=1&frs=1)

To hold the gear grids together, these are awesome but pricey (https://www.etsy.com/listing/548000611/kd-gear-grid-for-card-management-updated?ga_search_query=kingdom%2Bdeath&ref=shop_items_search_1)

I would also use these remaster card sheets printed on thick paper (https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/124496/kingdom-death-remastered-sheets) - Your first campaign will be people of the lantern - I would recommend starting off with around 12 of the character sheets.

u/breakfastonly · 6 pointsr/konmari

I would definitely start by collecting every piece of paper in the house. Get a laundry basket or a bunch of boxes or even just a space on the floor and put every sheet of paper there.
Then, pick up each piece of paper and decide if it has a place in the ideal life you have envisioned. The goal is to keep zero papers. Now, I will interject here that there are some items that are paper that actually belong in the komono subcategory called valuables. These are things with literal or potential monetary value--deeds, titles, checks, etc. AND important "government" documents like birth and marriage certificates and social security cards. I think medical insurance cards also count as valuables. "Papers" are like bank statements and bills and announcements for upcoming school events, notes to yourself, instruction manuals, etc. While the goal is zero, Kondo admits that this rarely happens. Keep a single clear pocket to put papers "to keep," and one for "temporary" papers.
"Keep" papers you will potentially keep forever. "Temporary" papers have an "expiration date," no matter how far in the future. For example, tax documents expire in 3 years, that is temporary.
You mentioned business cards specifically. If they are just for reference, transfer the info to your phone or email and throw them out. If they are punch cards or gift cards, get a little stand for them to keep with your purse/wallet contents. Like this one.

I recommend a credit card holder like this for sock drawer cards.

As far as the CSP, wait until the annual fee posts, then call to either cancel or PC it to a no annual fee card like the Chase Freedom or Chase Freedom Unlimited (both of which have ways to earn bonus points). The annual fee will be refunded if you PC within 30-41 days.

Also, if you don't have any other premium Chase cards such as CSR or CIP, then make sure you transfer out any UR to any transfer partners before getting rid of the CSP.

u/whereswoodhouse · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Montblanc has the best business card holders for the money, in my opinion. I've had [this one](Montblanc Meisterstuck Business Card Holder 14108 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029IKOHA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fq9Fyb7SNQBM1) for 15 years and it's flawless, even after heavy use and daily carry in my purse.

They make one that's textured like the YSL card holder - called Sartorial

Either of those are under budget and will definitely last! And it should be easy to find a retailer in Canada.

Also, for what it's worth I've found having a foldable holder (one with a cover) is better than one without as it generally stays in my purse and can get jostled around. This type of design keeps the cards in place.

Wired 18650 battery holder

http://www.adafruit.com/products/16

Altoids gum case. Fits 18650 battery holder perfectly. Have to buy them here because the gum isn't available anymore. If you want a bottom feeder or extra room use a normal tin.

http://www.boggerboxmods.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=63_74&product_id=298

Prewired 510 connector. Works great for a bottom fed or nonbottomfed mod. Great for people that aren't familiar with soldering

You'll need an 11/32" drill bit for the atty connector.

If you want a bottom fed mod, boggers box mods sells bottles also.

Forgot to mention switches. I got mine from radioshack. Make sure it isn't a 'normally closed' switch as this is not what you want

Here's a sweet tutorial page on ECF

Reposted from yesterday because I was ashamed to show the tower, but forgot that the rules make me.

Because I got this question yesterday, I'll go ahead and address it. I moved from retail to work for a good friend of my family. He owns a local business that's been around since the late 1930s, and was started by his grandfather. He's done well, and decided he wants to break into the online sales market, so I'm working with a web developer company to put together an e-commerce site, and once it's up, I'll be running it by myself until it's too much for just me, at which time I will hire people, and train and supervise them.

I'm a big fan of using card stands/holders for tableaus so that they can be passed around easily rather than everyone having to stand up and hover over them.

Alternatively business card racks are super handy for that type of thing as well.

Also, +1 for silicone cupcake liners being awesome.

u/SillyOperator · 5 pointsr/MensLib

Here's what you do boys, get yourself a nice metal cigarettes case that you can get super cheap on Amazon with a sexy design. Put in a couple of your favorite condoms and those sample lube things. BAM! You got yourself a prepped box for hitting the box.

I have this wallet for my mass storage, it works very well and I am happy with it.

u/bubbafry · 4 pointsr/PucaTrade

My preferred methods:

  1. Put unsleeved cards in a Team Bag. Place a top loader on the front and the back (the cards are sandwiched between the 2 toploaders). I use two pieces of Painter's Tape, one wraps around vertically and one wraps around horizontally. I send cards like this to buylist and seems to work well, since most vendors do not like individually sleeved cards.

  2. Put cards in perfect fits, then put them in a Clear Hinged Box. They make different sizes depending on how many cards you need to send. I like to put them in sleeves because the cards rattle around in the boxes. Not sure if it actually causes any damage, but the sleeves make me feel better.

I am not a big fan of shoving a bunch of cards in a penny sleeve, which is another common solution. I've received cards like this, and one thing that happens is that either the front or the back card slips out a little, then the pressure from the other cards creates an indentation in the card. It's happened to me more than once.
u/spatialheather · 2 pointsr/randomactsofamazon

These have free shipping with an order of $25 or $35 depending on where on the page you look lol

But this is $0.95, has free shipping, and is actually kinda useful!

u/SiON42X · 3 pointsr/churning

Clearly you need one of these for home.

I got myself a Bellroy Low Down, fits Amex Gold, CSR, Freedom, two MSR cards, debit, ID, health insurance, and 8-10 bills easily and stays super thin.

u/Airmaid · 2 pointsr/boardgames

Every time I go to a Dollar Tree, I check to see if they have a pack of these rectangular containers. Tiny, and perfect to hold just about anything, and it will fit in most board game boxes. The round ones are pretty useless, which is why I haven't just bought a case yet (you get them assorted in a case). And 10 of them for $1. You can't beat that. Food safe, so I use them for packed lunches as well (like bringing a tablespoon or two of sour cream or something).

I've also heard of someone using a business card rack like this for setting up cards in Arkham Horror. Haven't tried it myself, but I like the idea.

I've also "made" some custom boxes for Munchkin using those wooden boxes from Hobby Lobby (with that 40% off coupon, of course), a piece of balsa wood, and some coffee (for a natural stain).

u/AskSebby · 1 pointr/churning

That actually sounds like an awesome idea.

I predict a lot of people will get this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UBNWLHQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Probably one of my best cheap purchases.

u/trufflechurn · 2 pointsr/churning

I got one of these and it's been a life saver compared to just having a giant pile: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UBNWLB2/ref=twister_B00UBNWKVS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I only keep 2-5 cards in my wallet (depending on overlap): restaurant bonus, grocery bonus, Costco bonus, and 1-2 min spend cards.

u/bambinone · 10 pointsr/churning

For those looking to organize their sock drawers a bit better, I've been very happy with this holder: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UBNWLB2

The only downside is that it doesn't have any tabs or anything for quickly turning to a particular "group" of cards, so I just used some sticky notes. It has a great feel to it after it's loaded up and I'll probably need a second one real soon now.

u/newobj · 4 pointsr/boardgames
  1. https://www.amazon.com/Source-Desktop-Acrylic-Business-BC-8P/dp/B002YTO3JE/ref=sr_1_27?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1488301537&sr=1-27&keywords=business+card+holder !!!!! - this or something like it is essential. i bought mine at office max, fwiw.

  2. don't keep separate discard piles

  3. keep things like gate tokens on the board

  4. put the asset deck on top of the space that describes how to take a loan

  5. plano box for all the bits and bobs you need during gameplay

Looks like the dividers are in stock on Amazon, just on a different page for some reason: https://www.amazon.com/Broken-Token-Horizontal-Organizer-Wooden/dp/B00OKRAVX0

While I haven't tried it yet,

Sentinels Tactics: I found http://www.spiffworld.com/tactics/ while looking up some rule clarifications. There's paper craft buildings that match the tiles, so I built them. We struggle with remembering and tracking elevation, so I think this will be a great help, plus some realism

Arkham: http://imgur.com/a/BbceV This behemoth is awesome for storage and makes set-up and component control a breeze (we did add bags for monsters and trophies since i took those pictures)

Civilization http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/62473/tuckboxes-marker-tiles these tuckboxes help speed up gameplay and keep those little token bastards organized.

I use business card holders (http://www.amazon.com/Source-Tiered-Acrylic-Business-S24/dp/B00I35P2DO/ref=sr_1_18?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1421988957&sr=1-18&keywords=business+card+holder) for tons of games such as Catan, Firefly and anything that has standing decks really.

And the card pockets are a little easier to insert and remove the cards. As for closing it when it's full, the snap clasp has two positions and the cover is flexible enough for it to close well.

I carry a Radix One Slim. I currently carry 4 cards, an ID, and a little bit of cash. cheap, small, but pulling cards out gracefully takes a little getting used to. the other downside is that you need to fold your cash, but the R1 Slim is freaking small. been carrying this for a little over 6 months and I love it.

I can't remember if I bought it from Amazon or directly from their website.

I use this for long-term storage and it gets linked in this sub as a storage "binder" kind of often.

While not exactly a full women's wallet, I found lots of options that will hold several cards.

This.

This.

This.

This.

Or even this. (If she carries a big purse.)

Bonus points if you fill extra slots with cute family pics.

Also, never give a wallet without putting a little money in it first. Even a few pennies. Otherwise it's bad luck.

u/mah2cents · 1 pointr/churning

I keep them in one of these cheap business card holders. I also throw in other reward cards like the ANA reward card, car rentals, store reward cards like CVS, etc and just categorize

Though, I doubt I'd need to take em out to use, but it's just handy to look through when I do need to find something

So I have always taken great pride in not letting churning impact what I buy, but unfortunately yesterday I broke my rule and let the hobby directly impact a purchase. With 40 new credit and debit cards in the ~6 months since I have started, and 3 more in the mail and on their way to me, it has become a bit unruly to just toss them in a drawer. What time and day does churners anonymous meet again? I think I am ready to admit I have a problem...

u/PunchBeard · 1 pointr/boardgames

I just got these in the mail for my copy of Eldritch Horror and they work absolutely perfectly. I'm probably going to order more for my other games that use cards.

u/Adviceizsexy · 6 pointsr/CreditCards

I typically keep 2 credit cards on me. A card that I am working towards a SUB and a sapphire reserve. I keep everything else in one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01AUJA3NE?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I organize it by the date in which I was approved to keep things simple.

u/le_firefly · 1 pointr/churning

I got this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016060BG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For what I needed (and really cheap), it's great.

u/kodemage · 1 pointr/magicTCG

You're thinking of something like this?

http://www.amazon.com/Amigo-Spiel-Freizeit-82478-Deck-Box/dp/B00317VSPK

They have even cheaper ones like these:

http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Hinged-Plastic-Trading-Storage/dp/B00AEAGNVQ

Which end up costing $0.75 US, so that's like 50p

I've recieved cards from PUCA in both and either is fine, the cheaper one doesn't fit cards with sleeves though.

u/ceidson · 2 pointsr/boardgames

We love Eldritch Horror, but for the first few months we had it, our table space was very limited. As such we grabbed two of these to reduce the footprint of all of the decks - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002YTO3JE/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apip_kMLCI6PtTWjJT.

With two of them you can hold all of the location, expedition, other world, mythos, clue, mystery, all conditions, and artifact decks. And they take up maybe a foot of space? Best investment ever.

u/Tialyx · 3 pointsr/churning

I use this guy, works pretty well for both P2 and me.

I hold my credit and debit cards in a business card folder like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UBNWLHQ/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/jnjustice · 1 pointr/churning

I use this Rolodex one that holds 96 cards. Yea it's $18 but the quality is really nice.

u/kris7778 · 9 pointsr/churning

I like this 90 card holder - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UBNWLB2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Edit: As others have pointed out, this one is quite large when filled with cards - definitely storage sized, not pocket sized. :)

BIRTHDAY TWIN ALRIGHT!!

A survival tool from your WL that I totally need.

Totally into the Attack of the Elements shirt!

I ended up with 24 AU cards from the amex AU bonuses. figured enough was enough and bought two of these, one for credits/AU cards and the other for debits/serve/BB cards

Aaaaaand added to my shopping list. Thanks!!

EDIT: Amazon link to stand

u/MyLittleChurny · 5 pointsr/churning

I've been struggling with this, too, and have bought every recommended item on this sub so far over the past year. This one is the best for storage, though you will need a second one quicker than some of the others.

Do something like this and then print off a label of sorts for the boxes. This allows for cleaner box relabelling.

u/ThunderrBuddy · 2 pointsr/churning

amazon has a mini file cabinet for business cards with 3 drawers...saved my life lol

it is made of plastic though, wish it was metal, but it does the job.

Thanks, I ended up getting this one.

I’ve been using the [Boshiho Leather Credit Card Holder] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UBNWLB2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PpozCbHFEWBNQ) for over 2 years and only a couple slots have torn.

Also, P2 uses the smaller [Business Card Holder Book PU Leather] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZR6OG4I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_jBXLzrjMeCJAY) and it works great.

u/jvolzer · 1 pointr/churning

What do you guys do to keep your cards organized? I was looking at something like this Business ID holder

u/kelly636363 · 2 pointsr/churning

You need something like this business card organizer.

u/Goliath89 · 2 pointsr/DnD

Here's an alternative that should more than meet your needs so long as you don't mind your cards being horizontal and having slightly more modern look about it with the push clasp. It has enough to cover all the spells a wizard would learn natural just going from 1 to 20 (5 cantrips, 44 spells), and still leave you with 41 slots that can be used for extra spells you add to your spellbook along the way. If you have them, you could even use those slots for the GF9 magic item or creature cards (for summoned creatures/familiars).

u/Chief5000 · 2 pointsr/EldritchHorror

i just take out what i need and throw them around the board but they sell magic the gathering sorting trays i was looking at.

This is one of them. but i dont like paying 20 dollars for something that i dont "need" but if the measurements are right it would fit in the box with some extra room.

https://www.amazon.com/Slant-Holder-Compatible-Euro-style-Board/dp/B06XX9QLS1/ref=pd_sbs_21_8?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06XX9QLS1&pd_rd_r=N17KSHQ3Y6KX3CNXP9V9&pd_rd_w=iaJUW&pd_rd_wg=iJTK9&psc=1&refRID=N17KSHQ3Y6KX3CNXP9V9

The other option would be one of these card holders. i love it because its cheap, nice, and holds all the cards if you see in the reviews someone actually uses EH cards for it. But the downside is that it wont fit in the box and that makes me sad :(

u/johnmikepauljr · 1 pointr/ImperialAssaultTMG

I use the 6 x Business Card Holder for Imperial Assault.

I use this Curved Wood Playing Card Holder for games like Arcadia Quest where all players need to see certain cards, rather than taking up a lot of table space.

u/agroom · 1 pointr/electronics

They make holders for the 18650 cells. I'm sure there's several companies that sell them, but here's some I was looking at. Some of them even have built-in PCBs for various voltage configurations. Although Amazon does sell a single holder for much less that I think I'll be using instead. Just glue them together and wire accordingly.

u/bohica937 · 1 pointr/perktv

I got tired of having the phones spread out on my desk taking up a bunch of desk space, so I bought an 8 pocket business card holder. I figured someone else might be interested in this idea.

We bought a couple of those business card holders that have tiered multiple slots for cards for use in saving table space with games that have lots of decks, like Arkham Horror and Firefly.

I use and have seen a number of folks mention the Boshiho holder for cards.

u/cbechard58 · 2 pointsr/dominion

Here's for the wood dividers. I have the cards horizontal, but you can also get vertical.
https://www.amazon.com/Broken-Token-Horizontal-Organizer-Wooden/dp/B00OKRAVX0/

Here's for the box. Don't buy it at $40. You can find at least a 40% or 50% off coupon. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Storage-Organization/Storage/All-Media-Artists-Supply-Sketch-Box/p/5227

Here's for the tabs between cards. You should laminate them if you have the patience.

u/ddevil63 · 1 pointr/boardgames

Have you thought of using business card holders for the cards? Someone mentioned it here at some point.

u/fritter_rabbit · 4 pointsr/ArkhamHorror

A couple of these really help with the cards. However, they are a pain in the neck to store.

u/cornerbash · 2 pointsr/magicTCG

I use these with my Arkham Horror game. That game uses a ton of different decks and these holders make it easy to stack a bunch of them in a small amount of space. I could see arranging a number of different token piles with a similar setup.

u/bluetshirt · 12 pointsr/boardgames

For Arkham, we use these. I'm not sure if we could even properly play the bloody game without them, short of putting cards on the floor.

u/dozure · 3 pointsr/boardgames

We use business card holders like this for Arkham horror cards

u/CreditPikachu · 1 pointr/churning

Most churners should have thin card holder type wallets because we only carry our min spend cards on us. What everyone needs is one of those card holder books to store all the other crap at home once we're done with min spends.
