I've traveled to quite a few places with my kit lens. It's pretty damn good.

You still have time to fill out the rest of your stuff, if needed:

Filters:

Singh-Ray Filters makes a "ColorCombo LB" filter. Works like wearing a pair of polarized GOOD quality sunglasses outdoors. I never took it off. Excellent quality and helped when the sky was overexposed and when I generally wanted to get a more intense color.

Lens:

Your kit lens will be more than fine for anything during the day. But at night is different. The kit is meh at night. You definitely want something to capture night time. Maybe some star time lapses? Those are always cool.

Leica 15mm F1.7 My wallet hurt when I bought this, but to be honest, it's on my camera more than it's not. It makes the night look amazing. The quality is awesome too.

Panasonic 25mm f1.7 - compared to the "nifty fifty" on a full frame (25mm*2=50mm). This is our "go-to" as a second lens (for day and/or night), but to get an idea of how 'zoomed in' it is, take your kit lens and rotate it to "25mm". That's how this lens is. Too much for me, but it's still worth mentioning.

Panasonic 45-150mm f4.0-5.6 - I just bought this lens from Amazon Warehouse for $100. It's very well built and serves it's purpose (when I want to zoom in on something far away).

Microphones:

If you want a better microphone get the Videomic Pro+. The difference between this and the others are that the mic turns on/off automatically when the camera turns on/off and it has a USB rechargeable battery.

Batteries:

Speaking of extra batteries, you're going to want more. There are three types: cheap non-decoded, cheap decoded, and OEM (which are decoded).

Non-decoded means you won't know how much battery you have left in the camera. Obviously that's dumb. Spend a little more and get decoded. I really like these OAproda 2 pack + charger. No battery lasts as long as the OEM, but it's close enough. Plus, the OAproda charger is much thinner than the others and charges via USB.

SD Cards:

I love these SanDisk Extreme Pro. I purchased the 128gb because I NEVER want to be in a position that I can ever possibly run out of space.

You'll want a way to copy the files to your pc. This Transcend USB 3.0 works amazingly, and it's $9 for a two pack.

External Drive:

You WILL run out of space on your laptop. You can either purchase 3-4 SD cards, or you can get an external HDD. Each has it's pros and cons.

Battery Pack / cables:

Whether it's your phone / headphones / batteries / tablet / whatever, I suggest the Anker PowerCore. These things are beasts. One of these made sure I was able to fly from here to Australia without worrying about battery levels.

You'll also want to carry extra wires. Whether MicroUSB, USB-C, or Lightening, I would never use anything else but Anker PowerLine

International Charger:
I used the BESTEK Travel Adapter and loved it. Plenty of ports to charge stuff on. It has a small fan (to keep it cool) that some people say bothers them, but I'm the lightest sleeper and it didn't bother me. Barely heard it.

> I have just two batteries which just won't do the amount of work i plan to do. I won't have any power source other then the sun. Looking to buy a charger that can charge my nikon battery.

/u/eatit007 - your best option for power might be a [$57.99 AA battery grip] (http://www.amazon.com/CameraPlus-Professional-MB-D16-Battery-Multi-Power/dp/B00TDSR1Y8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) with a [$21.99 12 pack of 2800mAh AA batteries] (http://www.amazon.com/EBL-Capacity-Pre-charged-Rechargeable-Batterie/dp/B00IGPGLKY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) and 2 [$15.90 AA solar chargers] (http://www.amazon.com/Samyo-Solar-Battery-Charger-NI-MH/dp/B00GQB0MOG/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_6&smid=A2J4PV1D59H5I6&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) (which can each charge up to 4 batteries at a time) [Referral Links].

With this setup, you can keep 6 batteries in the chargers while the other 6 are powering the camera. Nickel Metal Hydride AA batteries are light and easy to transport - and, in an emergency, you can find them in any camera shop or hardware store.

Hope this is helpful and Godspeed on your trek!

You don't have to use an Eneloop charger and I'm sure there are other good options for it. That said there is this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-BQ-CC55E-BQ-CC55-Battery-Pack-Weiß/dp/B01HSEXL3I/ref=pd_sbs_107_4

Which comes in stock soon, or this one from third party seller:

I just looked up the MH-25 which is the quick charger for the D750 and it outputs 8.4V @ 1.2A. I found some nifty USB chargers that will charge two batteries at the same time off of a single 5V @ 2A port, but the output voltage is 8.4V @ 600mA. This means that each battery would take about 2x longer to charge than your dedicated quick charger, but you're able to do two at once so it equals out. Plus, you'd be able to do it from a battery pack as long as it provided a 5V @ 2A port (which many do).

I've used this unit from Amazon for portable speaker and power diy projects. Great unit. Comes w charger. None of the hassles of 18650s. It's less than $15.

The batteries for the T series are a dime dozen. You can pick them up from Amazon for a decent price. You can also find the battery chargers at a decent prize as well.

u/[deleted] · 4 pointsr/mflb

Honestly, the stock batteriest are some of the best you can get. The MFLB makers picked those batteries because they're perfect for the LB. If you want batteries for heavier use, try the Powerex 2700 mAh. The stock are Powerex 2400 mAh. 2400 is the limit for LSD (low self-discharge), and 2700 is the limit for HSD (high self-discharge) and the limit in general. These numbers represent the capacity of the battery (how much of a charge it can hold). LSD can stay charged for months before discharging naturally, so you can charge them today and use them a couple months from now with the same amount of power. HSD is able to quick-charge, but only keeps its charge for a few days.

So if you're using your LB every day, try the this. If you only use it once or twice a week, stick with what you've got, and order some from the MF store if you need more.

u/nofreee · 1 pointr/rccars

I would highly suggest going with this setup from Amazon. It's a little more than $100, but it is leaps and bounds better than the Tenergy charger.

Why not use this Vemico Gopro battery? I like the orange color. It's quite different from other sellers black color. I like the design.

You can get Sony’s original external battery charger even though it’s price is a little bit steep.

> Olympus batteries are 7.6V, and USB is 5V.

Ahh, interesting. Would USB charging affect the battery? Would using a generic USB charger like this https://www.amazon.com/PowerSmart-Battery-Charger-OLYMPUS-PS-BLS1/dp/B00H1MFSD4 be bad?

>You can configure the 2x2 lever on the right to be a power switch.

What is the 2x2 lever? Is labeled as number eight on page 11 of the manual http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/oima_cckb/em1_markii_enu.pdf

That seems interesting though.

I don't think the SD card door will be a problem long term. It feels more like an annoyance. I don't think it will fall off.

I thought about exchanging it at B&H, but they still have it listed as in preorder. So far, the pixel mapping seems to have done a decent job. If another pops up I think I will be more concerned. I think my concern is a little elevated because I've never actually purchased a new camera which had observable hot or stuck pixels.

I think you'll enjoy the E-M1 Mark II.

My wife was ecstatic about this find - now she won't forget to put the camera charger back into her camera bag anymore.

>Trying to find a charger for an EN-EL18b

Any MH-26 type charger works (I got this one).

3rd party grips work, I have this one. It's been fine except for one instance of the joystick/subselector not working. The buttons are much clickier than the ones on the body.

Don't forget battery doors.

>Also, the D850 can ONLY achieve 9 fps with the EN-EL18a or EN-EL18b, right?

Correct. The 18b was actually discontinued recently, but there should be enough stock for a while. Expectations are that there will be a 'C' type soon (maybe with a D5s announcement?).

I did get an official Nikon battery (none of them had 1-day shipping on Amazon and the nearest camera store doesn't sell 3rd party).

u/Imlulse · 1 pointr/M43

Congrats, if you don't like the cord on the battery charger you can get a duck head adapter to substitute it.

I've been using the very one for a couple years and, even with taking it off on every use, it still plugs in stiffly enough to hold unto the charger if you plug it into a wall outlet. I left the cord plugged in near a desk and put the duck head in my travel bag...

USB powered battery chargers can also be useful, either as a cheap/compact car charger or as an additional travel charger, can even recharge a camera battery off a USB battery bank with one. The one I bought was branded Oaproda and I think it's only sold with two third party batteries now, but that one looks identical.

u/Brian373K · 2 pointsr/flashlight

I'll leave battery recommendations up to others, as I use whatever I have for vaping.

On the charger, however, the Xtar VC2 is a fantastic charger. Plug it in to any USB charger and you're good to go. It will recharge any LiPo, basically, like rechargeable AA, AAA, etc. Im not sure about NiMH, but I think you have to step up to the VC4 for that, which probably isn't necessary for you.

u/Serial_Chiller · 5 pointsr/AskElectronics

Here's the thing: Your car provides low voltage DC. Your battery charger needs low voltage DC. If you use an inverter, you take the low voltage DC from your car and convert it to high voltage AC. The power supply of your charger then converts the high voltage AC back to low voltage DC. This unnecessary detour will cost you money and waste energy.

So the best thing would be to get a (third party) 12V Li-Ion charger for your battery like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Camera-Battery-Charger-adapters/dp/B0068L8BWE

You should probably do some reading on camera forums, because there are good and bad third party chargers.

Whether your phone charges just as fast with the 12V plug, depends on the plug and the phone. Most smartphones only charge at full speed if they recognize that they are plugged into an actual charger and not a USB port on a PC. They do this mostly based on a certain resistance between the two data pins, that are otherwise not used for charging. In many cases, the two middle contacts (data+ and data-) are simply connected in a charger, while they are seperated in a USB port of a PC.
So if you have a 12V USB-plug that has the two data pins connected, and your phone recognizes that as a charger, it will charge just as fast as with the original charger. Otherwise it will just charge with 500mA (about half the speed), because it thinks it's connected to a PC and doesn't want to overload the USB port.

I bought four of these batteries and these chargers. Since I use amazon.ca I found this bundle on amazon.com, looks like a good deal.

On full blast, they last around two hours or so. And they take a full three hours to charge from near-dead. That's why I bought four batteries for two lights, so I always have two charging if both die on me during a production.

I've heard AA's last as long as 2-3 hours, but that would get pricey over time.
