I don't know if theres a price limit but I really want this 12 pack of socks If that's too expensive then anything from my <10 or <5 list would be great. Thanks for the cool contest! And yes you look very nice today.

I visit Edmonton for work fairly frequently. Unfortunately this is not the nicest time of the year to visit.

The coat you picked looks ok. On it's own it wont suffice, however with several layers underneath you'll be fine (e.g. base layer like a tank top, long sleeved shirt and thick sweater or hoodie). Here's a couple other options if you would like to skip puffy and layer up: Old Navy, Target, More Target.

If you're unaccustomed to the cold wind, I would not skip the scarf or hat (even with a hood on the jacket). I like circle scarves so you don't have to worry about loose ends blowing around in the wind (did I mention I don't like the cold wind?). As long as the hat covers your head and ears, that's the important part. I'd opt for something like the big floppy toque (you are in Canada after all!)

Combat or Moto boots will not be warm enough on their own; if that's the route you choose to go, ensure you have several pairs of thick wool socks. As another commenter mentioned there will be salt on the road, so be sure to treat your boots with a leather conditioner before you go and clean them when you get back.

Have fun and report back on your adventures!

I don't know what your budget is but I got these randomly with a good deal, despite them being men's and I LOVE these.

They have a bit of rubbery grip so they stay in place but they cover enough foot surface in my opinion to suit sneakers perfectly. Cheap sneaker socks always make my feet feel horrible after a long day but these guys are the bomb.

Link, not sure if it the white or black one but Amazon seems to have both anyway

My SO swears by Banana Republic tailored slim-fit, non-iron button-downs like this.

Tailored slim fit is a more modern fit. It doesn't balloon out like a lot of men's dress shirts. The quality is good, too.

For dress shoes & belts he likes Jos A. Banks. They're good at putting outfits together. They'll give you the belt, some socks, matching shoes, etc. Once he figures out which shoes he likes, he buys his next pair online.

For socks we go online as it's 1/10 the price. He just got these dress socks and these in assorted stripes & argyle.

Well, obviously, it's much more comfortable and much less sweaty if you buy some invisible socks - not ankle socks; socks which you actually cannot see. I used to wear boat shoes without socks, too, but now I don't anymore, because of the sweaty feet.

I don't know which are the best in America, but I personally use these: http://www.amazon.com/Falke-Step-Invisible-Sock-14625/dp/B006VBSCNY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397929616&sr=8-1&keywords=falke+invisible+mens+socks

You can also get some pretty good ones at H&M. Try it!

thank you! they are happy socks optic in grey :) you can get them at amazon for $7 here. i'd also strongly recommend checking out their black iterations of the same pair which are amazing imo.

Beat up boat shoes look better than new boat shoes.

If you really wanted to keep them looking as new as possible for as long as possible, just get a leather cleaner/conditioner and apply, following the directions, once every 2-4 weeks or less. It will keep the leather hydrated, darken it up slightly, but help to clean off dirt that has settled in as well. I do this but only when the leather starts to get scuffed. A less strenuous maintenance would be to just buy a horse hair brush and brush them off every few wears.

About now wearing socks: don't do it. Get cedar shoe trees--they help absorb the moisture and deodorize. I'm pretty sure newspaper also serves the same purpose, but smells nowhere near as beautiful as cedar. Also, boat shoe socks.

Get an Alaskan fur hat. I love these things to hell.

Also get some good boots. And I mean boots that are tall like those. Snow gets deep here, and even though they shovel the path you’re probably gonna have to walk in the snow at some point and you wanna make sure they cuff your jeans so it doesn’t touch your ankles or get inside your boots.

Also get some winter socks to go with the boots Boots don’t always give the best insulation.

Obviously also get a waterproof winter jacket. If it absorbs water then don’t get it, you’ll regret it. I usually wear a hoodie underneath a parka too for some extra insulation and the hoodie is easier to wash than the coat.

Also get some water proof gloves if you’re gonna be outside for long periods of time I wouldn’t recommend getting these for just walking to class because you have pockets you can stick your hands in, but if you’re gonna be outside for a while you’ll want these, and you’ll want them to be waterproof.

Just so you know, I did 0 research on the actual item I linked, I just linked an example. I suggest you look around and find something like it because I can’t guarantee quality for any of those.

:D yooo this is perfect! I just added these awesome sauce box socks to my list like an hour ago! They're matching men's and women's socks for St Patrick's day ^ .^ for me and the greatest guy ever. St Patrick's day is one of my favorite days and I usually deck out all in green for it when I can

Thanks for hosting a contest! (Edited to take item title out of link copy/paste from Amazon because it was obnoxiously long)

I know these are pretty tame but they are cheap and i was looking for something with bunnies and these were the cutest :3

If splurging then i like these a lot :)

I wear size 12-12.5 in most shoes and these Sperry ones seem to work out the best for me. Note that these are the "canoe liners" as opposed to the "skimmer" socks. Those never stay on, but I've have great success with the canoe ones.

These are extremely similar to the ones I have currently. They are super thick and soft. Tmax Heat socks are the brand I actually have if I remember correctly. They work extremely well. I've been out and about in several feet of snow with steel-toed work boots and still had toasty feet for hours on end. Best of luck in finding some!

I know I said I'd PM you and I forgot because my afternoon zombie hour has hit and I'm tired as all hell, haha. Hope this info can get you some relief this winter. :)

Thank you for this contest, super fun.

Intro: Artist, Business Owner, mom - but the kids are all grown up. So I spend a lot of time trying to help people in our neighborhood. The items on my wishlist are for other people in need. I included three essential items we mostly take for granted.

socks

protein granola bars

women’s products

TORTOISE PICTURE

I’m going to guess avocado toast for a favorite snack.

(1). Not really. You can try and see how you like the look but don’t feel obligated. However, I would probably look for ways to not wear that shirt anymore.

(2.). Your friends are 100% correct. You should wear no-show socks if you’re wearing those shoes with shorts. If you’re wearing pants then you could wear no-shows, crew length, or mid calf length socks in interesting colors or patterns. Your look is appropriate for a suburban dad doing yard work. My favorite no-shows are from Falke

u/Barelybeagle · 2 pointsr/needadvice

Socks are most likely the only solution. I realized I had the smelly-foot syndrome when I started wearing Sperry's without socks. I tried "odor eater" powder and even shoes off often. I ended up buying special, super low-cut socks. Foot problem's improved ever since.

u/srs1978 · 9 pointsr/streetwear

Get some true no show socks and you won't have this issue. The only just hook around the bottom of the foot. - https://www.amazon.com/Stance-Mens-Super-Invisible-Socks/dp/B00603COBE

Shoe liner socks

I just get the women's shoe liners from Target.

u/Spritesgud · 2 pointsr/Sneakers

These?

edit: If I buy a quantity of 1, does it send me 1 pair of socks? Have many is 1 I'm so confused lol
