Here's a few that I have and love

Dave Matthews Band - Crash: All analog master and cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed at MPO. Some bias, because I'm the resident DMB fan on r/vinyl, but this is a perfect release and what every band should model anniversary vinyl releases after. If Radiohead had done this with OK Computer, it would have been 1000x better; missed chance. Anyways, this is a must have for any DMB fan. $30 on Amazon

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik: All analog cut. Not sure if Bellman did this or Grundman himself, but it was cut at BGM. Maybe one of the best sounding remastered albums in my collection. It's extremely detailed and "revealing". Definitely recommend picking this up, both on the quality and the music itself - one of the best albums of the early 90's. $30 on Amazon

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium: Another all analog mastering and cut RHCP album, this one by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray. All versions (original, deluxe, and reissue) use the same stampers. It's a rarity that a 2006 album was recorded analog, so it's wonderful they kept the vinyl AAA. Full bass, and a really detailed high end. Highly recommend if you're into the band, it's a steal at $33 for a 4xLP

Nirvana - In Utero: Released for the album's 20th anniversary, this was a direct metal mastering and cut that used the albums original cut and contains a bonus disc featuring alternate mixes. There was also a version released in 2013 with all alternative mixes and was also all analog. Both are great and fully dynamic, though I prefer the original mix. Whichever mix you prefer, go with that version, you won't be let down.

Nirvana - Nevermind: Bernie Grundman mastered this one himself, and keeping with the theme from above this is all analog as well. Maybe the best album of the 90's, this is (in my opinion) the ultimate version of it. This master was released by ORG in 2009, but it was released again from the Geffen label using the same stamper in 2013 and pressed at Pallas. $24 on Amazon

Van Morrison - Moondance: This is the 2008 release, mastered and cut analog by Steve Hoffman & Kevin Gray at Acoustech and pressed at RTI. There's a really good discussion about this remaster and specifically the mix of Into the Mystic over at the Steve Hoffman Forums. $18 on Amazon

Phish - Junta/A Picture of Nectar/Lawn Boy/Rift/Hoist: All of these Phish albums are fan-freaking-tastic sounding. Bellman did them all at BGM and used all analog sources and cuts for each, minus Rift which was cut from hi-res digital files. All can be found at Phish Dry Goods for $50 each. A bit pricey but well worth it IMO!

The Beatles - 2014 Mono Remasters: If you want the ultimate, most true to the original, Beatles releases; this is what you want. These are all analog and do everything to mimic the UK first press releases. There's always good debate about Mono/Stereo for The Beatles, but there's no debate that these are top notch releases. You can buy the whole box for ~$350 or each release individually for $15-$25 each if you search for each on Amazon

There's really an endless amount of good, affordable, new records with great sound. Check out Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi/MFSL), Analogue Productions, Analog Spark, Music Matters, among others. MOV also does great work, though they generally use hi-res digital rather than tape to cut from. Also, look for the mastering engineers I mentioned above - Chris Bellman, Bernie Grundman, Steve Hoffman; plus Kevin Gray, Scott Hull, among others

Nebraska from my DVD wishlist because it was my favorite of all the Oscars films and I loved it!

Makeup from my Add-ons wishlist, because that makeup ain't cheap in the store and my current one is almost out.

"Evil Friends" by Portugal. The Man from my CDs wishlist, because I adore it and I am sick of having to listen to it over and over on spotify.

Walter Sobchak Funko Pop from my appropriately named Funko wishlist, because I have the Dude and Donny...but they are incomplete without Walter, man!

Epic Pyramid Head wall scroll from my Misc. list, because I love Pyramid Head, and I don't yet have his lovely self on my bedroom walls.

To give a little more detail: That copy of In Utero, sealed, would likely sell for about $100 on ebay, and then you can grab this 3xLP version of In Utero (with my personal favorite Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flowing Through the Strip and Marigold too) and still have $50 leftover for a bag of..... for whatever you would spend $50 on. Gas and pizza maybe.

That same clear vinyl In Utero, not sealed, is worth more like $25-50, possibly more. That's why I kept mine. If I wasn't a big Nirvana fan maybe I'd see what I could get for it, but I love it in my collection and definitely play it.

In the case of the Beatles - a copy of Please Please Me recently sold for $2,900+ on ebay. I'd sell that in a heartbeat and buy the reissue for $18.

The song that always makes me happy, no matter what I'm going through is Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana. I've loved Nirvana since I was a little girl, and have always felt comforted by their music since then as well. I guess it comes from my mom and dad listening to them while they were raising me (they were around 20 or so when Nirvana came out, so it was really their generation of music, they passed it down to me ahahaha)

It's been released. It was in a box set a few years ago alongside the original quadraphonic mix that the 5.1 mix is based on.

And if anyone's making quadraphonic vinyl, I've not heard of it. Need special players as well, and if anyone's making those I haven't heard of it. And from looking at the various methods used, it's no wonder. Mutually incompatible, and dodgy at best when compared to the abilities of other formats like 8- track and now DVD.

As to how to do it yourself? Mp4 is capable as I understand it, and physically, DVD or Blu-Ray. But the latter is prohibitively expensive for most of us.

exactly, i totally agree, but i feel that they make "limited" coppy's to show that the band dose in fact still have "hardcore" fans, or they just get kocky and think its all special and price it to fucking $500 or something (still pretty pissed that the smashing pumpkins:Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness remake is nearly $80 on vinyl, I MEAN LOOK AT THAT,AND IT'S NOT EVEN A LIMITED, OR SPECIAL EDITION COPPY!

You might want to keep an eye on this set from amazon.ca. The price has been fluctuating over the last few weeks, usually staying under or over $50. I've actually seen it hit $36 at one point. Ok, so the other day i caved and ordered Stadium Arcadium on vinyl because, you know, it's amazing. I spent $35 on it from this listing on amazon. I was expecting it to be this but it turned out to be the first pressing. When I first found out I obsessively checked all the identifying attributes and they were all correct.This is the link to the record I received. It is now my most valuable album.

Great find on that Sinatra set. How much did you get it for?

So the preorder I placed in Februrary finally came through to deliver this absolute beauty to me today.

This vinyl set is amazing, both the records themselves and its packaging, and it instantly became the holy grail of my collection.

The set comes with five(!) red records, containing the entirety of the Fellowship of the Ring Soundtrack. Also included is a booklet with information on the recording of every single track, and what looks like a third of a poster of Middle Earth, foreshadowing a future release of the remaining two Soundtracks.

I've been watching this box set drop from $360 back in April. Hopefully it continue to drop like a lot of the other Beatles records have been. The lowest price ever was $233.89 in March. But it's currently at a good price, since the average Amazon price is $324.28.

You may not have an answer for this, but what would you say is the best way to get the most complete set of SW soundtracks? ie, Is the ultimate collection, or go through and get each movies individually (Well, 7 will have to be individually, but aside from that...)

If you're looking for original pressings then tough shit. Hopefully this girl isn't tricking you, otherwise good luck, those box sets are pricey.

That is a pretty impressive reissue. I remember getting that album when I was 13 or 14 as a double CD. I will say that the $90+ price tag on Amazon put its definitively into the category of a very-big-fan-only release.

The human revolution soundtrack is 84€ in Germany directly from Amazon which is a fucking joke.

If I can buy a soundtrack on 6 LPs recorded by 2 professional orchestras for even 10 bucks less (Final Fantasy in Tokyo and London by the symphony guys), I am sure as shit not going to pay that much for a fully digitialy made OST.

But it comes directly from Square Enix, so I shouldn't be surprised. Their EU pricing for the FF picture discs was a fucking joke as well with like 30 or 40 bucks shipping from Britain to Germany which is insane.

Hmmm.. I guess you didn't know that $120 is what it costs brand spakin' new? I just purchased the DSoTM, WYWH & The Wall Immerision sets in March. I actually got a nice deal - I can't remember why. But, $120 is definitely the cost of a brand new set.

So far the only real issue I've experienced with mine is the mastering on Zero, everything else sounds good.

Just wanted to say to you the 2CD deluxe version is now on the Canada store... and it's cheaper than the US one for some reason. The vinyl is also on there and its only a few bucks more than the US one.

Edit: 1 CD version is now up, no sign of the super deluxe version yet

Edit 2: Here's the Super Deluxe version, but its not available yet ( hopefully it hasn't sold out) MSRP from the beatles website is $170 CAD.

I've been really wanting to get a hold of RHCP's Stadium Arcadium and I'm fine with just buying it from Amazon but wanted to see if anyone else here has bought this one and how they liked it. You can get it in a 5.1 mix on a few formats (even YouTube, no idea about the quality). I think the current best (yet widely compatible) would be on BluRay as part of a box set. It's listed as CD, but it's actually a mixed format set.

Here's a review comparing the SACD 5.1 (which is where the BluRay mix comes from) and the 4.0 Quadraphonic.
