The soundtrack to the movie Velvet Goldmine is on a pretty good rotation with me, has a lot of great stuff, you can listen to snippets here

As for songs in my head today, its been a Flaming Lips (Are you a Hypnotist?) and The Clash (Lost in the Supermarket) kind of day.

I am pretty sure I have stuff on both my lists under 5 bucks, im down for any kind of gift. Im easy to please :)

Go to your local library and, if they have them, check out some classical music CDs. Stuff like "Heavy Classix" or anything baroque or operatic in minor keys, like the opening to Bach's "Little" Fugue in G Minor -- one of my personal faves, BTW -- are great. Or if you have a local college with a "Music Appreciation" or similar course, ask their library for a coursebook or just talk to the prof. They can point you in a good direction if you ask nicely.

This PR class is nuts!

My favorite classes were history of rock class with the editor of the rollingstone.

AND
Dreams, Dreamers, and the Dreaming...it was a great class for me, we talked about different cultures and their dreams, different religious texts about dreams, kept a dream journal, tried to lucid dream. It was a class I didnt fall asleep in.

my item!

|name|Sweet|
|about artist|Sweet (referred to as The Sweet on albums before 1974 and singles before 1975) were a popular 1970s british band. Although Sweet were largely known for their glam rock image, and several hit singles — many of them being so-called teenage anthems — they also released several albums throughout a ten year career. The extent of Sweet's domination of the charts in Europe resulted in eight number one singles in Germany, with pop oriented tunes as "Co Co", "Little Willy", and "Wig Wam Bam". (more on last.fm)|

I don't know if anyone realizes that this is the name of a song by the Norwegian "deathpunk" band Turbonegro from the album Retox. To make it even more interesting, the top voted comment at the moment cites the Power Fuel videos and "TURBOPUNS" which, in this context, ends up having two meanings...like a pun!

Well, considering you can buy it on Amazon for $160, I am not sure where you got $400 from.

u/microwave_safe_bowl · 4 pointsr/ifyoulikeblank

coheed and cambria, particularly this album. This album wasn't bad nor was this one. the lead singer's voice is an acquired taste that took me a while to get used to but the music itself is real solid.

His Bowie covers on the Life Aquatic soundtrack made me run out and buy his discography.
