Lifelong Chicagoan, been attending RF and other fests for many years. I'm probably on the "old" end and have a lot of experience. Advice from off the top of my head:
-What folks are saying here about rain is 100% accurate. It's rained at least 1 day every year. Bring a pair of rain or other good boots, and a rain poncho. They often sell them there, but they are crappy. Get a good one with snaps like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016OD16RM/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_zFXoxbW6QPZWJ
They fold tiny and you can easily slip in a purse or pack. I've also used mine as a ground cover to sit and eat lunch and as shade when we couldn't find a vacant tree to sit under.

-This may sound funny, but if you are allergic to bee stings, make sure you have your epipen. Early fall makes wasps and hornets aggressive, along with the many often overflowing garbage cans. There will be wasps and hornets everywhere.

-I budget about $25/day for food. That's $12 each for 2 meals. Tacos are your friend, cheap and portable. There a ton of options, and I can honestly say relative bargains can be found if you keep your eyes open.

-I can't remember exact booze prices, but I want to say beer was about $8 for maybe 16-20 oz. They sell wine in little boxes with caps for around $15 (I want to say they are about 4 glasses worth) this is what we usually opt for because you can close them and put in your bag (I'm also not above watering my wine down so as not to get shitfaced.) Sneaking in a flask is generally pretty easy.

-Bring a large empty bottle (they won't let full ones in) to refill with water. I have been there when it was in the 50s and raining, and when it was in the upper 80s. Fall weather (well, all weather, actually) in Chicago is incredibly unpredictable, and if you're well hydrated you can endure most conditions.

-The park is off of the pink line on the cta. This means you can stay downtown and hop the train there. Note, ride services like Uber are also great for getting there, but getting out is often the longer, more frustrating slog. There's just so many people trying to leave at once like any big event. Expect to wait for at least 30 min. for a train back of you leave at closing time. Pee before you leave. Trust me on this.

-Note, Douglas Pk. is not in a tourist-friendly area of the city. Frankly, it's not exactly safe. However, they had cops lining the street from the venue to the train line last year, so just don't venture off the beaten path. Don't think you'll walk to a restaurant or bar after in the neighborhood, it's not a great idea. However, the Pilsen neighborhood is adjacent to the area, and that is a fantastic area for Mexican food (formerly a mostly Mexican area, now gentrifying but not completely there yet, still can find a ton of authentic Mexican food and fun bars.) If you want to go to the "fun" parts of the city after, like say Wicker Pk or Logan Sq., you'll have to switch to the blue line downtown. This will likely take you about 1.5 hours if you leave with everyone else. (Before Chicagoans chime in, we went to CA blue line stop last year and that's how long it took us.)

-Finally, remember that you are in a major urban area with its fair share of crime. When traversing the city, especially at night, pay attention to the world around you: keep your ear buds out of your ears and don't yap on the phone. If you can, travel in a group. If you're a woman, think about a cross-body bag to make it harder for your purse to be grabbed. Don't "flash your cash" outside of the event. Keep your wits about you and you won't advertise yourself as a target.

I hope you enjoy RF and our beautiful city!

(Edited for beeeeeessss...)

>Are you being targeted?

To be quite honest, no, I do not think so. By whom, and how is beyond me. The phenomena described in this log is present no matter where I am. It has proven to actually be worse some places other than my home. I am suspecting EMF radiation from EISCAT, as these facilities have a very large range, and are "nearby", geographically speaking.

>Signals on since

>>Describe?

Woke due to alarm. (Forgot to turn it off). Noticed the usual symptoms was present as I woke; Unable to "wake up", heavy-headed, mind-fog, unable to perform coherent thought; it's like the center of consciousness is "turned off"; all I am, hear and feel, is static hiss/noise. I am... Not. I am an observer "locked inside my head", unable to use the brain, if I am to go out on a limb...

Had not gotten enough sleep anyway, and went back to sleep. Well... Tried to.

Regarding sunshine, it does not help. What I am describing, is a catatonic state of mind. It is very hard to describe using language, because it's metaphysical.

Imagine your consciousness as the flame of a candle. This is your light. You, shining through the eyes, looking at the world.

When signals are on, the candle is being blown at, to such extremes, that it does not shine anymore. The mind is darkness, and you are; not. It does not matter what external factors are present; a person you love, sunlight, whatever; it is not capable of entering the mind as even a thought, because the mind is "offline".

It feels like being locked in a prison with tinted windows, and you are stuck there forever. Because, since the short-term memory does not operate/function, there is no way of telling time, because you don't remember your previous thought. It's like a computer running without RAM. Without RAM, the harddisk is useless, and the computer can not give any (coherent) image on the screen.

>What kind of necklace?

It's an old chain from a wallet. Looks something like this, without the keychain-ring. It's about half an inch wide, and fits perfectly around my neck (maximum contact area). It was something I had laying around and (rather desperately) clamped around my neck and connected it to ground, to see what would happen. It proved to be better than grounding my wristwatch, so I am not using that anymore.

By grounding it, I regain "awakeness"/consciousness, and became aware of my surroundings again. Removing the ground clouded my mind again, and I have repeated the procedure repeatedly over the last two days, to eliminate any possible placebo effects from the equation, and it has proven successful every time.

It is not The solution, but it helps a lot.

Regarding chills, they occur when there is a significant frequency change. I am thinking it is a release or buildup of static electricity that cause a surge, manifesting as chills and goosebumps. Temperature has nothing to do with it. My appartment is at a constant temperature, and the chills happen at very specific times, each time. The noise inside my head usually change simultaneously, (though not always; ELF is not audible).

> Chest is feeling increasingly heavy.... Preassure in head. Pain on top of scalp

Regarding these aspects, I have come to conclude that these occur at specific frequencies. Itchy eyes never last more than 30 minutes, and signifies an escalation and/or reduction of intensity in energy fields around me. The pain on top of my scalp is often a phenomenon arriving directly after itchy eyes, so I am thinking this has something to do with the frequencies as well. It feels as if I am in inside a microwave oven, and someone turns it on. The pain on top of my scalp is something that happen directly after chills as well, so there is definetively a correlation. The "heavy chest" is the result of a shutdown of the autonomous nervous system, and I actually have to breathe manually, because the body literally stops breathing on it's own.

The turn of events in cronological order is thus;

-Chills

-Itchy eyes

-Foggy mind.

-Pain on top of scalp

-(Headache).

This signifies increase in frequencies/intensity/amplitude.

When signals reduce, symptoms are as follows;

-Chills/goosebumps running throughnthe body

-Pain/preassure on top of scalp disapating.

-Clearer mind, and increased awareness.

My abdomen does not feel cold. The chills are waves of goosebumps, but I am not cold. Though my capillaries have shown to retract somewhat if signals are strong, but I live in the North, with Nordic blood, and are known for occasionally wearing t-shirts in wintertime. It does not bother me that much. I differenciate between coldness and chills.
The episodes of chills only lasts a couple of minutes in the timeframe after a frequency change, and that's it.

>Itchy eyes

They are not really dry. It just feels like it. It's as if the frequencies disturbes the makeup of the eyeballs, giving strange nerve signals similar to dry eyes. It's much like when you see a drowsy child rubbing their eyes when tired. Once the frequency change (as mentioned; 30 minutes duration), the "itch" disapears. And if I concentrate on the "itch", it really is a phantom phenomena; and does not bother me. It is the nervous system giving false input due to EM disturbance. That's what I have concluded thus far anyway, but as I get more acquainted with the phenomena over time, I will also understand, and be able to explain better.

Regarding pulsations in my foot, it was something I noticed first time today. -I had been sitting with my legs on a table, and lost proper bloodflow. As I switched position, and regained bloodflow, I noticed the pulsation where my skin/ was numb. Nothing to worry about, and it was not bothersome. I put it in the log for curiosity's sake.

Regarding lightheadedness, it occurs when signals change. I am probably born with what modern psychology call "bipolar disorder", which is a misnomer of gigantic proportions. It only means I can use both of my temples, whereas most people are locked into one or the other. I reckommend listening to a segment from Mark Passio's seminar on Natural Law, as I have found him the best presenter giving a decent overview of the concept in it's totality. Link.

When I experience the effects of EMF, my usual active two temples are reduced to one or the other.

It is important to note that both halves of our brain work on a different mode, or frequencies (brainwave patterns), and when both are active, I am "awake". When one frequency is active, one half of my brain gets supressed, and I am locked into the other, active half. When another frequency is present, the other half of my brain gets supressed, and my consciousness automatically switches to the other, unsupressed half.

When both these frequencies are present, my entire brain shuts down, and I am locked into the R-Complex, or mid-brain, where the primitive, ancient centre of consciousness originates. When even this part of my brain gets supressed by "extreme frequencies", my brain cease to function, and goes "offline". And this I call being "locked in limbo".

The reason I am going into these details, is because it explains the confusion I speak of.

Let me explain myself;

-One half of the brain is "masculine", and include rationale, logic, action and so on. The other half is "feminine", and include imagination, emotions and thought.

Another way of looking at these atributes, is by comparing the "masculine" half to Mars, and it represents the male population. The other, "feminine" half, can be compared to "Venus", and represents the female population.

This is a very brief explanation of the dynamics, polarity (and conflicts) in the world as well.

They "speak different languages", and are locked in an "eternal dance", and is why men and women never seem to understand one another.

But there are a certain portion of the population that are "bipolar", i.e. they see both sides of the coin, and the "whole", so to speak. I am one such individual, and do not fit in in the present "left/right" paradigm the elite has manufactured for us.

What is happening to me personally, is that the signals force my consciousness into one state or the other unwillingly and involunteerily, i.e. against my will, and this "polar change" / switching of consciousness from one brain-temple to the other results in inner confusion. This essentially is the external mind-control, and how it operates in reality. For me, and people like me anyway.

---

I sincerely appreciate all the advice you have given me, and I will assuredly note these solutions and implement them shortly.

On a sidenote, I do not have access to a bathtub, and have no space for one either... This have struck my mind on many occasions, and I will definetively make sure to get one as soon as the oppurtunity makes itself present.

---

Edit:

>Magnetic near field compression waves can cause that

I am unfamiliar with this concept/term/these waves, and will have to look into the subject in full. Thx for mentioning this. Are you by any chance familiar with the frequencies/tools/equipment involved?

I may be freaking out...

My favorite character is Mal (and yes, my username is dedicated to him). His loyalty is astounding. His crew is his family and I think it's extremely admirable. He keeps his head in times of hardship and usually pulls through with even a laugh or two. I love that he surrounds himself with people he'd like to be more like; or at least people with qualities he feels he's lost. He admires Kaylee for her innocence, Book for his faith, Simon's love for his sister and dedication to learning, etc. He knows he's had to bury this qualities in himself, so he keeps them close in other people so he doesn't forget them.

I don't know anything about GIMP but make sure you're saving your images as .png not .jpeg you can't have a transparent background with a .jpeg. As for designing questions like what do colors actually look like and what percentage of fill to use I created this shirt!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXPRC45
It's front and back so I'm only making $3 off of it but it's been a great tool for me and my team that I used a lot when I first started designing for T-shirts. I have a background in working for Traditional screen printers and they always had shirts like this around the office for us to use and see what things look like when they are printed. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me I'd be glad to help!

Kidding aside, I do have my own opinion, but you know how people wrote off Starship Troopers as a shallow, big budget, dumb, action film? They called it a pro fascism movie! And now 20 years later people are acknowledging it's actually a pretty clever movie that is actually deeper than it would appear at first glance? So now suddenly it's cool/acceptable to like it without having to explain that it's ACTUALLY a good movie? Yes, it's like that.

So (rhetorical question to make a point, i don't want your answer) do you like Starship Troopers because of the social commentary and dark humor? Or because you think, yes, violence IS the solution to all of our problems? Or do you like it because of the co-ed shower scenes? Or do you NOT like it because you (like an idiot) think it's an endorsement of virtues of fascism?

Reason is important. Your reason can affect the public's opinion of my reason. Your thinking (again, just an example) Starship Troopers as being pro fascism propaganda affects the legitimacy of my liking Starship Troopers as clever social/political satire.

you are a toughie, cause you are so young. This a bit ancillary but I would just give the advice that when you are younger, knowing who you are is really sexy. So pick a general style and tailor your wardrobe to it. As a musician are u classical? or do u write your own? Blues based? Trained by ear? Or perhaps a slicker look like michael buble http://www.google.com/imgres?q=michael+buble&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=4z&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1280&bih=605&tbm=isch&prmd=ivnsol&tbnid=z8O-3f_thAoL-M:&imgrefurl=http://kisspeoria.com/2011/michael-buble/&docid=l-J0WWE7G3eY9M&w=760&h=472&ei=0ddaTvX2IJPPgAfK_di7DA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=313&vpy=213&dur=470&hovh=127&hovw=170&tx=97&ty=78&page=1&tbnh=127&tbnw=170&start=0&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:16,s:0

If you tell me more about u I could give u more specific advice.

Just an idea u could try out but chicks dig indie musician types, I'm guessing u are in high school and a classically trained pianist. I would learn a couple cool pop tunes (if u can sing to them double bonus points). Go to a thrift store, pick up a skinny tie, a button down short sleeve shirt, jeans... (dark, skinny, baggy, acid washed doesn't matter) and pair with a hat.. either newsie style http://www.dogfunk.com/coal-considered-newsie-hat?CMP_SKU=COA0438&MER=0406&CMP_ID=SH_FRO003&mv_pc=r126&mr:trackingCode=4A2C2080-1956-E011-9324-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA, like the one jason mraz is wearing, or dictator cap like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HWFN2K/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000EZSE1S&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=162X21C0Z5R2573M54GZ. But that would be a total revolution from ur current style and this post wasn't about changing who u are, just looking better as is. So u can try out my prefab music hipster look or give me an idea of ur personality and I will tailor a look to u.

Hello u/Isekai_litrpg , welcome to the party. What's your favorite Anime? I admit, I've only ever watched Berserk but haven't found anything else I liked.

If don't already have this shirt, and know the magic behind it, it never needs washing, it adds +100 Charisma, +100 Skill, and +100 Luck. I purchased mine 3/28/12 and my life has never been the same.

I tend to revisit ones I loved or go back to one of the classics like boys over flowers. But always keep watching - just got this awesome kdrama fan shirt: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074Z6Q1VN

That finger heart shirt is really cool. Whilst not exactly "low key" I picked this one up the other day.

There are some great ones out there I've seen as well:

Tipsy Elves have the humping trio, very meme-worthy:

Stole your nose:

Perhaps you prefer to have only two reindeer humping:

There's a lot of great ones if you check "ugly sweaters".

WANT

I have a hiking hat that I put pins on, this would be perfect!

Edit: Found it on Amazon!

u/EmpressK · 6 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I'll try. I wish they were more handmade items. Most of them are probably made in chinese metal foundries and then sold to dealer room vendors at Cons. Which is where I got most of these.

Deathly Hallows Earrings They just look like I got them at UO right?

Deathly Hallows Necklace

Golden Snitch necklace
Time Turner

Auryn

Mockingjay Pin

Hand of the King Pin

TOS Earrings

TNG Earrings

Communicator Earrings

Bajoran Cuff
I never wear this one thought I might now since cuffs are kind of back.

Star Trek Pin

Stargate Pin

SG1 Pin

D12 earrings

Lothlorien Brooch

Evenstar Necklace

Evenstar Earrings

DeathstarEarrings

That's all I can think of for now but whatever you're into, just type that +jewery into a search bar and something will come up. On the off chance it doesn't, find someone on etsy to make it for you.
