My mother is my heart and soul, my absolute best friend. As I'm typing this, I'm writing "I love you" over and over again on a sheet of paper in different colors, sizes, shapes, etc, and then tomorrow I'll slip it in an envelope and send it to her (she lives 3000 miles away from me.)

My mother has dealt with non-stop heartache and drama from my deadbeat father for the last 7 years. When they first divorced, I had to practically babysit my mother because I was so afraid she'd harm herself. It made me grow up really, really quick. My sister took my dad's side eventually and broke my mother's heart into even more pieces. I really, really loathe them both for it, but try my hardest not to "hate". I know my mother feels very abandoned, so occasionally I'll do something small that will both surprise her and most likely make her cry - the good kind of tears, of course.

A few months ago I told her to go pick up something that was waiting for her at the local Walgreens photo center. It was two photographs I had printed at her Walgreens, one completely white that simply said, "I love you so much, my beautiful mother! Stay strong, and remember... we'll always have each other <3" and the second one was a picture of her and I together that we had taken some time that year.

She called me from her car sobbing. It made me sob. We sobbed together, and it was wonderful.

Thanks for such a great contest :) I constantly remind people, "Love yourself. Love one another." And I never, ever leave the home without saying, "I love you" and "be safe".

ETA: And here is my item - something I could actually REALLY use to finish her mother's day/birthday present!!

The glue sticks are cheap. You can pick them up 30 of them at most stores like Walmart, or on Amazon for $5.00 or less. I used maybe 3 sticks while making the sword I talk about below.

I actually got this glue gun on Amazon for $9 and I really like i because it has a small tip, an on/off switch and it came with 30 sticks (https://www.amazon.com/ccbetter-Upgraded-Removable-Anti-hot-Flexible/dp/B01178RVI2/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8C7YNR2TC2S6CP1WJ8C2)

I finished my 2nd attempt at pepp'ing a world of warcraft sword (http://www.papercraftsquare.com/a-full-size-world-of-warcraft-sword-papercraft-free-template-download.html) only this time I used hot glue instead of just plain white glue and it went much better, especially the difficult joints like where the hilt meets the sword.

I think it was similar to what you are facing where the hilt is. I would put just a drop or 2 of glue on the tab then stick it to the matching end. The glue dries in only a few seconds so it bonded well. Like I mentioned before, when I messed it up, I would put the tip of the glue gun on the joint to melt the glue the try again.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions, I am happy to help.

Another great place to ask pep questions are therpf.com. I am building a complete stormtrooper armor and this site has been an awesome resource for me.

I spray paint my canvases, since I'm not that artistic; I utilize this hot glue gun, which has been amazing thus far in having my projects as big as 7x5 pegboards stay mounted.

u/VinnTheHuman13 · 2 pointsr/TerrainBuilding

I'd recommend this glue gun, it has temp control, pretty low amount of drip and replaceable heads

u/RogueSorcerer · 1 pointr/Amd

Hey with all this craptastic fighting, why not use a hot glue gun to keep the VRM heatsinks down. Make sure you get the proper temperature glue, nothing is gonna melt that :)

We bought one for my daughter that was like this one

I think we paid $11.99 plus tax and it came with 50 glue sticks.

DIYing a hot glue gun is absurd.

u/JustGreg · 1 pointr/AskElectronics

I have this one. It will melt a stick without any pause...

Anything over 20W is severe overkill.

I have this one. It comes with a built in stand and a fine tip.
https://smile.amazon.com/Surebonder-H-195F-Mini-Detailed-Glue/dp/B00IA8WLQA/

You need placement control over the glue more than melt speed and volume distribution.

u/nick1austin · 3 pointsr/DiWHY

It's not extra large, that's just bad photoshopping.

The model shown is the Mangrove SD-A but only seems to be sold in Asia.

It's very similar to the TopElek SD-A:

No /r/glueguns? Who knew?

Anyway, there are a few wireless glue guns. I had one (sadly it broke) and it was great for on-the-go and just in general to avoid the cable mess.

Otherwise a discounter here has a sort-of-wireless one with a docking station. Keeps the thing from dripping, and you can take it and have no wires (but the thing has no battery, so you have to return it to the base). Similar: http://www.amazon.com/Surebonder-CL-800F-60-Watt-Cordless-Temperature/dp/B001AH5EXK/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1451284097&sr=8-18&keywords=glue+gun

Also, there are different glue types, especially with the small glue guns, there are the ones that do not require as much heat to melt. That's great to glue some types of foam or other things.

Otherwise: Just get a $2 glue gun with trigger.
