I can definitely relate. I'm someone who loves to get crazy on the dance floor (and generate a lot of heat doing so) yet also stay up into the wee hours of the morning and sit around watching some of the relaxing after hours stuff, which can make me quite cold. So here is what I do: I wear sweat pants and a t-shirt at night, as well as socks and shoes. Sometimes I even put on lightweight thermal pants under if it is going to be particularly cold. Those clothes keep me plenty warm while dancing without overheating. I pack a lightweight puffy jacket and a beanie in my backpack that keep me very warm while sitting around during the coldest part of the night. I know what you're thinking - a backpack? How can you get crazy on the floor with a backpack? Hear me out. I use a super slim/light cycling pack. I use and can vouch for this one: https://www.amazon.com/Osprey-Syncro-Hydration-Meteorite-Medium/dp/B019IFMT0G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525134737&sr=8-3&keywords=syncro%2B3&th=1&psc=1 but there are plenty of cheaper options out there as well. With my puffy jacket, beanie, and even water pack in there I don't notice it at all. You can even cinch down the chest/waist straps, but I don't think that's necessary. As for a puffy jacket, I use the uniqlo down jacket: https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men-ultra-light-down-jacket-400504.html?dwvar_400504_color=COL15&cgid=men-outerwear-and-blazers-ultra-light-down#start=3&cgid=men-outerwear-and-blazers-ultra-light-down it's a really good bang for your buck and it's very light and warm and has lasted me a few years with no real wear. Good luck and don't forget to shake your tail feather!

Get a bottle holder that mounts to your handle bars.

If that's a 20 oz Yeti, you should be able to get a bottle cage that fits it pretty well. But none of the Yeti lids work well to prevent leaks, since it's just a rubber gasket that stays attached with friction. But if you have space on your handlebars, you get yourself something like this and attach a normal bottle holder. That way it's perfectly vertical and right in front of you, so you can make sure it's not trying to escape.

For what it's worth, if you do decide to upgrade to a completely leak-free, secure mug option, a klean kanteen insulated mug + this cap is great

In my opinion, I prefer not to use a bladder in my backpack. I prefer my water very cold. In a bladder, it tends to sweat. That water collects between the pack and my back, making my shirt damp. It's ok for a 3-4 hour hike, but not for a 10 hour day in a park.

I bring my hydration pack, but leave the bladder at home. I use this:

https://www.amazon.com/Osprey-Packs-Raptor-Hydration-Persian/dp/B014EC8862/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500302662&sr=8-1&keywords=osprey+raptor+14

We bring two, 24-oz HydroFlasks. One for GF, one for me. We fill them with cold bottled water before we leave in the morning, and get more water from QS when we need it. These slide perfectly into the main pocket of the Osprey. There is then plenty of room for wallets, phone chargers/battery pack, sunglasses cases, sunscreen, snacks, ponchos, and maybe a few other things. The expandable outer pocket is great for holding a light jacket if you need one. This system worked perfectly on our trip in November. GF was able to get most everything out of the bag while it was on my back, very convenient.

The Elite cages are popular but not that light and overpriced IMO. I have some off brand carbon bottle cages from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SV16XT2), they are light and work great with my Camelbaks. But even better are the Supacaz aluminium cages that I later got for my wife's bike, they are even lighter (18g each, lighter than the carbon version) and also work great with Camelbaks: https://www.amazon.com/Supacaz-Fly-Cage-Ano-Slick/dp/B07D3FLY7F

u/Valefox · 3 pointsr/MTB

To narrow down your search: I purchased a Camelbak MULE last April along with a Topeak Alien II multitool. Both of these items were fantastic purchases, and I'm so glad I bought them.

If you're interested in gloves, I bought a pair of Fox Inclines a while back and am happy with that purchase as well.

Congratulations on your new bike! You are going to enjoy it.

u/rkshoks · 1 pointr/cycling

A few friends use ELITE cages and have the same bottle as you.

I use the FSA cages http://www.amazon.com/FSA-SL-K-Bottle-Cage/dp/B00QXH1CEC Which fall perfectly under your budget.

I will say that after using them for about 10 months, the paint on the podium has slowly been scratched off (probably from the constant vibration). I honestly don't mind because the bottle still works and the cage keeps the bottle in perfectly.

These are awesome:

I’ve got the mounted using a X-Lab super wing and am very happy with them

u/JakWote · 3 pointsr/bikewrench

Hose clamps. This guy uses electrical tape, I've had good results using old tube instead, so as not to have to clean up sticky crap later.

You can also buy little metal strips with screws from your LBS for a few bucks, but hose clamps are easier and more effective in my experience.

EDIT: Combines very well with the $5 PlanetBike aluminum bottle cages, they have the tabs you need. Here, or REI had them for $5 but they're not featured on the website.

u/meeerod · 3 pointsr/bicycling

You can use this double barrel cage adapter to add another bottle cage to your frame With this mount you can adjust its location to better fit the frame and give ample space for pedaling.

Im now able to carry 40oz of water instead of 20, with the added bonus of the water bottles being easier to grasp.

u/DJRonin · 1 pointr/aves

Definitely wise to bring just your essentials. That way should you lose your wallet, you're not completely fucked. I bring my ID, usually two payment cards (Debit for bar/credit card for emergencies) and cash.

Bandanas are great for so many uses. I actually wear one on my head to stop the sweat from getting into my eyes, and another one to cover my mouth/nose. Regular bandanas can be pretty cheap, and you can even color coordinate with outfits to match the theme of the show. Be sure to look for the larger 22x22 sized ones.

As for hydration pack, I'm a bit of an odd person to ask. While I didn't purchase it from this website, I have a Camelbak 3L Military Thermobak. I am a kandi kid, and I use the D-rings on the sides and straps to help carry my extra kandi with me as I bring a lot of cuffs and larger pieces with me. The downside is that the bag itself is just large enough for the bladder and not much else, but I use a fanny pack to carry my usual stuff (phone, charger, gum, etc). I found the military one on Ebay for about 60, but I would recco the Camelbak Lobo as it meets most festival requirements. The 3L bladder will last you quite some time and saves you on trips to refill. I'm a bigger guy and drink more water than other people, but it's not too heavy to the point of slowing down your dancing. The pockets are large enough to hold all of your stuff, but I would suggest using a small carabiner through the holes in the zipper pulls as a "lock" to slow down pickpockets. I've even seen some use luggage locks, but it's absolutely up to you.

u/runortri · 1 pointr/triathlon

For saddle mounted I use the Profile Design [Kage] (https://profile-design.com/collections/cages/products/kage?variant=1808722526234) in tandum with a purist water bottle like [this] (https://www.amazon.com/VeloTubes-Purist-Specialized-Insulated-Bottle/dp/B01LZPQ7ZY). I have never lost a bottle riding or even had one slip out of position.

The water bottles neck is perfect and slots in the Kage really well.

u/snackarydaquiri · 3 pointsr/discgolf

I really like these Looney Bin Cages . They were recommended on the dgmods website and I love the one I bought.

u/Aww_Shucks · 5 pointsr/EDC

Cyclist here. CamelBak Podium water bottles are my favorite water bottles used on and off the bike.

I also think the Portland Design Works The Bird Cage Water Bottle Cage looks pretty cool.

u/SimplyPsychedelic · 1 pointr/paradisofestival

Not sure if you have purchased one or not yet but last year I bought one off of Amazon for $16.99. It worked great for Diso! The only complaint that I had was that the straps aren't padded right at the top but my SO didn't have any issues (I'm just a whiner) and neither did anyone else in my group. Here's a link for it if you didn't wanna spend as much money!

u/Flacvest · 2 pointsr/bicycling

They'll work fine, but you need the right cages and the right bottles.

I use a standard bottle with the huge groove about 4/7ths of the way up along with a carbon cage. Here.

http://www.amazon.com/PURIST-CLEAR-MOFLO-WATER-BOTTLE/dp/B008QQ5BJA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1368164367&sr=8-2&keywords=specialized+bottle

http://www.amazon.com/JRFOTO-Bicycle-Fashion-Cycling-BC1091/dp/B006KHOG8Y/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1368164392&sr=8-7&keywords=carbon+bottle+cage

To hold, I use an XLAB Turbo wing

http://www.amazon.com/XLAB-1423-Turbo-Wing-White/dp/B005C9BCT2/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1368164431&sr=1-1&keywords=xlab+turbo

Before when I could refill anywhere, I would just have the two bottles on the back. They will not fly out. THe key is to have the nub on your cage that hooks into the bottle's groove.

Now I'm throwing two more cages on the triangle for 4 bottles. Just a setup for people interested.

u/melvinrdrgz · 2 pointsr/FixedGearBicycle

I went on a 30-mi ride and ended up getting a really dry mouth, so I ended it there. Yesterday, I did 33-mi and ended it in order to get back at a decent time for breakfast. Having a water bottle on-hand definitely helped out and this set-up felt solid.

Velo Orange makes a great one. I use it on my commuter. Fits both 32oz nalgene and 40oz hydroflask. You might want to put some tape on it if you don't want to scratch the paint of your hydroflask though. https://www.amazon.com/Velo-Orange-Mojave-Water-Bottle/dp/B01498XPNC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1469858047&sr=8-4&keywords=velo+orange+bottle+cage

I have a TriSeven rack with two cages. I keep my CO2 in the threaded holes in it and a spare tube in between the supports of the rack with a rubber band. I might switch that to electrical tape soon. I usually ride with a pod that holds my multi tool, tire wrench and other parts but for races I can just tape the tire wrench in with the tube.

u/grizzlymann · 5 pointsr/bicycling

I've never been known to have anything resembling a fashion sense. Went with the whole I like green and blue stuff theme.

Nalgene holder. It's expensive for what it is, but it's the only one I could find.

u/pearljam09 · 3 pointsr/Velo

I'm a big fan of the cheap Iberia lightweight ones on Amazon. They're aluminum which means you can bend them in to keep the bottle in tighter if its too loose. I recently raced Rasputitsa and there were a couple of hairy sections where people were shedding bottles all over the place. I came through those sections with both bottles still firmly attached.

Water set up:

  • Saddle Mount
  • Cage
  • Bottle

The rest of my stuff (Wallet/tools/tubes/phone/kindle/lock/food/etc.) is either in this Timbuk2 Catapult on short rides (<30km) or in my jersey pockets on longer rides(>30km).

I've considered getting a duel bottle mount so I can keep one of those tool bottles with a tube, multi-tool, wrench, and levers.
