GREAT QUESTION! So many women have no idea how to properly clean and maintain their bra to prolong the life of it. I will give you two very good options. Depending on how active you are, how much you perspire, how often you wear the bra, and personal preference, the duration between when it is necessary for washing your bras may differ. I treat my bras like my sheets (once a week since I sleep in them every night), so wash your bras in relation to this. First, the best thing you can do is get a large bowl or container of sorts that can easily fit your bra when laid flat and can hold about a gallon of water. You can use the bathtub but it would be a waste of water and soap. Fill it up with lukewarm water. Take just a small amount, less than a tablespoon, of baby shampoo (I use Johnson's) and mix it up. Take your bra, loosen the straps fully but fasten it to the tightest hook. Form your bra into how it is supposed to sit. Immerse your bra fully and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. ALWAYS wash your bras one at a time and change the water. If you are washing a bra that is brightly colored, use less shampoo, cold water, and only let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. After, hang it up outside- ideal for summer time (your bra will naturally smell fresh and will dry quicker). Otherwise, find a warm, dry place in your house to dry it. NEVER use a hairdryer on it. It will damage your bra and may warp the cups especially if the padding is filled with cream, memory fit padding, or if your bra is made of delicate materials like Chantilly lace. The other option is to get a lingerie bag that is meant for all delicates. I prefer the bags that are sectioned so I can stay organized and wash panties and other delicates also without getting them tangled but there are lots of great options. I use something similar to this:

http://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-6154-988-Mesh-Hosiery-Wash/dp/B000FKHM1A/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1427421375&sr=8-14&keywords=LINGERIE+BAG

I've always wanted to try this product:

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/brababy-trade-bra-protector/1018309602?categoryId=10559

Again, loosen the straps, put it on the tightest hook, and form the cups. Many lingerie bags make it impossible to lay them flat, so fold the bra in half and shape one of the cups as usual and form the other cup so that they fit together. One of the cups, then, should be inverted. Use a VERY small amount of detergent (I still use Johnson's baby shampoo), put it on the delicate cycle and use cold water. Don't wash your delicates with anything besides other delicates. When the washing cycle is done, IMMEDIATELY take it out, form the cups and lay it out or hang it up in a warm, dry place in your house or outside. For the same reasons you shouldn't use a hair dryer on your bra, you also shouldn't put your bra in the dryer. If you need to spot clean your bra again use a gentle soap like baby shampoo and take a towel or rag that is made of soft material to get out the stain.Again, use lukewarm water. My rule is that if I wouldn't use the towel to dry off my glasses, I won't use it to clean my bra. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can use a TINY TINY amount of palmolive dish soap since it is the most gentle of all the dish soaps. If you aren't having any luck, you can use a magic eraser. For storage, I always recommend having a drawer dedicated solely to bras. Put some drawer liner in the bottom or even a towel so your bras don't get dirty or damaged by the wood. If you don't have a lot of bras, they make really great drawer dividers that will easily fit and organize your bras.

When putting them away, do the same the same procedure as listed above in terms of the straps and hooks. If you take your bra off at night like I do and plan on wearing it the next day, I hang it up on an over-door hanger in my room. When I do this, I don't hook the bra. I can't imagine it makes much of a difference either way. I keep my bras smelling fresh, I put dryer sheets or drawer scent products in there. I can't remember what the product is called, I tried to find it but no luck. You can get them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I like the lavender! Just a nice, luxurious touch. Hopefully I answered all of your questions.

For reference, discarding took about 4.5 months in my 1400 sq foot home and two storage sheds. I have started working on deep cleaning, upgrading necessary yet ugly items, and storage/organizing. I expect this to take another two months. I am watching "Clean My Space" and "Home Organizing by Alejandra.tv" channels on YouTube now to help with the process.

I am trying to keep in mind getting products out of original packaging, if possible, to limit exposure to constant advertising in my home. I am choosing to spend quite a bit on higher quality products that I love and expect to last many years. Fortunately, I have a budget that allows for some luxuries.

Bedroom

I started with my closet and these great baskets from the container store http://www.containerstore.com/s/whitewash-rattan-bins/d?productId=10037633&q=Large%20Rattan%20Bin%20Whitewash. The closet has a built in shoe organizer and I used my label maker to indicate what style shoes go on which shelf – heels, sandals, sneakers, flats and boots. I also labeled the shelf for each basket. Clothes hangers are all white. They used to be all kinds of colors, and I realized that white is more calming. I am now using these for my socks and undies since konmari folding did not quite work for me on those items http://www.amazon.com/MIU-COLOR-Collapsible-Underwear-Organizer/dp/B009A3HTXY. The folding works great for most of my other clothes. I am still pondering how to organize the nightstand drawers.

Kitchen

I bought a couple of 10" bamboo lazy susans for keeping my oils and vinegars organized in my cabinets. I bought some refrigerator organization units from InterDesign and the Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce savers. I intend to get Oxo food storage containers for dry goods.
I upgraded to these measuring spoons http://www.amazon.com/Cuisipro-Stainless-Steel-Measuring-Spoon/dp/B00004SU1I and these measuring cups http://www.amazon.com/Sagler-Measuring-Piece-Heavy-duty-Stainless/dp/B00V5EFWTO.

When I was discarding in my kitchen I found I did not really love my dinnerware so I got this set http://www.amazon.com/Corelle-Coordinates-18-Piece-Dinnerware-Service/dp/B00R790CLY plus matching lunch sized plates. I love the simple clean lines and the durability of the product. I downsized from a 12 person setting to 6 and it is great.

Bath

Have not done much here yet. I don’t have much need for storage organization in the cabinets. Still considering what I want to do with the drawers. Right now the drawers are still organized with small cardboard boxes from Glossybox, a cut down cereal box, and an empty jigsaw puzzle box. I upgraded my plunger and brush to nice stainless steel containers, and got a toilet paper holder that matches them http://www.amazon.com/Home-Basics-Vented-Stainless-Toilet/dp/B00JB20IDW.

Laundry

I replaced my bulky plastic basket with this http://www.amazon.com/Bajer-Design-Marketing-5234-Basket/dp/B0010KZCFC. It now hangs on a Command Hook next to the washer.

Car

I have repacked the car kit and 72 hour emergency kits in these for my car and my son's car. ttp://www.amazon.com/TrunkCratePro-Best-Premium-Trunk-Organizer/dp/B01AHK0J9Y. We live in an area prone to natural disasters so I like to be prepared wherever we are. I bought a car trash container (http://www.amazon.com/Highland-1932600-Car-Trash-Keeper/dp/B0027QWNGO) and created a little kit in a ziplock bag in the glovebox with essentials. Also, found tissues in a round container that fits perfectly in the door cup holder. I also bought a set of matching reusable grocery bags (http://www.amazon.com/ReBagMe-Reusable-Grocery-Reinforced-Handles/dp/B00Y17OIR4) so I don’t have the mismatched set. Finally, I have these on order (http://www.amazon.com/Car-Hammer-Seatbelt-Emergency-Must-Have/dp/B00CB8WM2S). Not organization related, just something I have been thinking that I needed for safety.

Purse

I reassessed what is in my purse. I used a couple small cosmetics bags that I had on hand and now have many things I wished I had at various times. Everything is neatly organized and I know exactly what is in there and why I have it. Everything from safety pins, to pen and notebook (http://www.amazon.com/Marble-Composition-Books-Notebooks-Green/dp/B00WRDIS9I), to a tiny flashlight, a granola bar in case I am out and hungry, a tide stain remover pen, a tiny Band-Aid package, tiny measuring tape (http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-33-115-10-Foot-4-Inch-PowerLock/dp/B00009OYGH), my phone, my wallet, and my keys are always on the little hook. Not exactly Konmari minimalism, but those are all things that I wished I had at various times and I am happy that I will not be caught without again. It is a medium size purse, packed just right, with stuff easily accessible.

Home office

I have not done much there yet, but this drawer organizer is working pretty well http://www.amazon.com/Rolodex-Regeneration-Deep-Drawer-Organizer-21864/dp/B002JG48R4.

Command center

I am currently working on a “Command Center” to keep clutter off the kitchen counter. I have not purchased anything for that yet. I am writing down ideas, measuring, and considering products. http://thehappyhousie.porch.com/20-fabulous-command-centers-to-get-your-life-completely-organized/

Other random stuff:

I moved my CDs into a holder http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-DVDW-92-Capacity-Classic/dp/B00005ATMD and they now live on a Command Hook in my car. For movies I transferred them to these Sleeves http://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-74604729-Movie-Sleeves/dp/B002JR2V7C and they now live in a small drawer in my living room. I tossed the packaging because it was bulky and does not give me joy.

I am using these in my linen closet http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Can-Do-STO-02986-Nested-Woven-Esspresso. This box for my jewelry http://www.amazon.com/Black-Leather-Jewelry-Travel-Case/dp/B0006JCGUM.

Not related to organizing, but I am loving these brushes for getting tiny spaces clean. So much better than an old toothbrush. http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Clean-Brush/dp/B003M8GMS6

If you made it this far, congrats. Something that I have noticed is that I can now shop with confidence, I can easily toss or donate the old unloved items, and I am organized enough to return those few items that don’t work as well as I hoped. My home feels much more open and inviting. I know where everything is and my clear vision is starting to come to fruition.

u/ypsm · 2 pointsr/LegoStorage

Hey, I know I'm late to this thread, but I only just now discovered this subreddit. I'm an American having the same problem, about to buy some stuff to organize and store several thousand loose LEGO pieces of various types. I too read the sorting and storage guide and, while it was great in general, its suggestions for divided drawers weren't useful (because they were all exclusive to the UK).

Anyway, I did some searching around, and I settled on some modular clear drawer organizers, to be inserted into some plastic drawers. It's more expensive than divided drawers, but I think it's more practical too, because you can take out each organizer cup, dump out its contents, put it back, etc., without disturbing the rest of the drawer's contents.

First the drawers, then the organizers.

I narrowed down my drawer choices to two options:

  1. IRIS Medium 10-Drawer Cart with Organizer Top, Black, and
  2. Sterilite 20938003 Wide 3 Drawer Unit, White Frame with Clear Drawers, 3-Pack

The IRIS drawers have a useable interior space of about 2.5" high x 9.5" wide x 12.5" long.

The Sterilite wide drawers have a useable interior space of about 2.5" high x 12.5" wide x 12.5" long.

I like that the IRIS has casters, in case you want to store in one place but then wheel them around to somewhere else to build.

I like that the Sterilite is more modular, in that you can stack as many or as few of the three-drawer units on top of each other as you want.

In the end, I decided to go all in with Sterilite, first because the drawers are wider and a little shallower (deeper and narrower drawers are worse than shallower wider drawers, because pieces get buried underneath others, and it's hard to find them), and second because the modularity makes them more flexible. I can put them on shelves, for example. And if I ever need to roll them around (store in one room, build in another), I can always get a dolly, like this one, for example, which will fit two Sterilite units side by side. Also, the IRIS drawers came cracked from amazon, because there wasn't enough padding in the box.

Now for the drawer organizers. I decided to go with STORi, which makes makeup organizers. They have a great modular system of clear acrylic cups, all 2" high, with width and length measurements that increase in increments of 3". So:

  • 3" x 3"
  • 6" x 3"
  • 9" x 3"
  • 12" x 3"
  • 6" x 6"

They stack inside each other as well. And they fit perfectly into both the IRIS and Sterilite drawers, in each case leaving about half an inch along both dimensions, which makes it really easy to lift one out without having to fuss. (I tried to upload a photo to imgur, but it's being fussy. If you're really curious let me know and I can try again.)

    Hope this helps!

Pink Drawer Sets -

1st drawer: eyeliner/ mascara

2nd drawer: blushes/bronzers

3rd drawer: lippes

*Black Drawer Sets- Samples and Beauty Box Exchanges**

1st drawer: eye makeup samples

2nd drawer: foundation/blush/bronzer samples

3rd drawer: lippy samples

These work wonderfully to help me organize my eyeshadow palettes and quads! I would buy the 6X6 one since your collection is starting to really take off! I'm not sure what size would fit in your drawer so this was just an example! I would put this in the biggest/widest drawer so that you have room to expand!

I would buy another one of those baskets (maybe the 6X3 one) for your face products, like your powders, tinted moisturizers, and your foundation. I would put this in the top skinny drawer where your makeup bags are now.

As far as hair things go, like your brush and hairspray, I would just put that in the 2nd skinny drawer.
And your makeup bags can go in the third drawer, leaving one left for whatever your heart desires. Something like nail polishes would go perfectly there. :)

I hope everything makes sense! Let me know if I need to clarify anything or if I left anything out. :) Good luck on your organizing adventure! Thank you so much for hosting!!

Ok, your vanity is lovely, but you are in massive need of storage. I recommend these drawers.

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20260718/

Here is a picture of them on my vanity. (I swear I’m not trying to be show offy, I just know I personally get inspired by seeing how other people organize their makeup.)

https://imgur.com/gallery/bm9IW

If those drawers aren’t enough storage space, I recommend putting a shelf on that left side by your vanity and getting other makeup organizers and putting them on the shelf. Amazon has some great ones for affordable prices. Here are links to ones I have used and liked.

For brushes I personally like keeping mine in cute little mason jars. Super cheap at Hobby Lobby or wherever and you can spray paint them whatever color you want.

I hope that helps at least a bit! I think this room has a lot of potential, it just needs some cleaning up. I think a rug would also help! And also maybe some curtains!

u/kettleSunChips · 5 pointsr/makeuporganization

I'd recommend something like this to store your brushes and cotton pads/q-tips since it has a cover to protect your brushes from dust/dirt.

Using letter holders such as this one is good for storing your eye shadow palettes.

You can either get individual inserts for your drawer that you can customize to however you want or you can just get sectioned ones if you're feeling lazy. You can also use these on top of your desk for skin care stuff since you use them everyday (I assume). With these, you can prevent your desk from staining and you can quickly wash them if they get gross.

I personally don't like the mini-drawers as I find them inconvenient since they're small and sometimes you just want to grab something quickly instead of having to squeeze your hand in them. Unless you use them for q-tips and cotton pads, since those need to stay covered.

I don't have those spinning ones, but I think they would work well if you have a bigger desk, since it gives you easy access to all your stuff.

If you don't have a lot of storage space, you can use a pegboard like this from Ikea. Or just straight up use small wall shelves.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I recommend storing your blenders in this to keep them clean, but I would make sure they dry first or you can stick something small to keep the lid slightly open.

These are pretty cute for pens/pencils/scissors/etc, and come in multiple colors!

This guy is also pretty neat for stickies and a pen to have on hand!

If you'll be dealing with business cards, I think [this mini cabinet] (http://www.amazon.com/Miniature-Cabinet-Business-Digital-PI-9617/dp/B0001YGN7O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404916030&sr=8-3&keywords=cute+business+card+holder) is adorable and professional!

And this little guy is ideal for sanitation holding :)

Decorate already! Thanks for the contest! :):)

u/Entertainmentguru · 2 pointsr/personalfinance

Thanks for the props.

A lot of things are negotiable as well, but most don't want to put in the effort. I like your idea about the library too, because those will never go away regardless how far technology comes. Not everyone wants to read something electronically. I was raised in a 1,800 sq ft house, and it worked just fine. I have seen houses valued at 500K that are simply not worth the cost.

There are items like this that people should buy to keep track of due dates: https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Letter-Organizer-Compartments-Drawer/dp/B00YESSPFG/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1521198412&sr=8-6&keywords=bill+organizer&dpID=51U1DFiNR8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

A lot of stores run the same sales over and over again, and most people don't realize that one either. There are lots of ways to save on travel as well. The list goes on and on.

I hope the OP of this thread has read all 500 comments.

u/sebeth204 · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I got this great spinning organizer for my brushes! It's not massive, but it looks great and fits all of my brushes (idk, maybe 30ish?). Also, this organizer, which was (unexpectedly) able to fit everything from my bulky train case and display it beautifully on my vanity! I was so glad to find organizers cheaper and nicer looking than the acrylic ones.

Having an exit strategy in place will help your confidence and comfort tremendously. Being able at short notice to pack your bags and return to campus can be highly empowering, and will allow you to enforce the boundaries you've set. If your college residence is yours (as in, you're renting year-round or won't have to change dorms in the fall), pack more lightly - wash your bedding and other clothes before you go home and leave them behind.

You may wish to consider hard-sided cases in which to keep your tech gear and other valuables; something like this might be useful and affordable. If they're the types who would destroy the case to try to get to it, you might want to leave it back at college and use a non-text-capable cell phone and your local library's computers to get by.

While there, maintain medium-chill: do not engage them in anything more emotionally-charged than the weather, speak as neutrally and as matter-of-factly with them as possible. Give non-answers whenever possible - "uh-huh", "yep", "whatever" "nope" "you may be right". Do not rely on them for anything you may want or need beyond what they choose to provide you - get it yourself, with your own money if you can. Accept any help/gifts/rides/invitations you can get from friends, however.

u/purebredginger · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I think this organizer is pretty amazing. Its all elastic cords woven together and you can stick all kinds of things in there and they are secure. It's great for travel because it can hold all of your chargers and small devices, pens and pads of paper, various office supplies, whatever you need to do. And you can just throw it in your briefcase, purse, or carry on and everything is secure and organized. Love it!

  1. Highlighters are always a good way to wake up your eyes and keep the important things standing out :)

  2. This looks like a good source for tips, and I personally recommend the first one (studying before bed) since sleep helps solidify your memories.

  3. A desk organizer is always a very handy thing.

  4. I don't know if you're into self-help books but this one has great reviews. A tip from me though is to drink water. I mean it! The more hydrated you are the better you will feel!

Congrats on being so close to finishing your undergrad! :D That's got to be so exciting. I'm about to go in for my second year of undergrad and really can't imagine what I'll do when I finish. This would be pretty awesome because it would definitely help me stay organized and give me more space on my desk. Right now my stuff is kinda strewn about and shoved in random drawers.

The most valuable lesson I've learned so far is that you have to get along with people in the worst situations even if it goes against every fiber of your being. Getting a job done is almost impossible if you can't get along or at least seem to get along with the people you're working with. It's impossible to truly get along with everyone. Some people will just hate you for no reason. But if everyone at least pretends to get along, life moves along pretty easily. I was schooled pretty roughly over this recently.

u/ProperNorf · 1 pointr/razer

This is what I end up getting, its a bit bulky but definitely good quality. Perfectly fits my blade & charger, deathader mouse, mouse pad and a GRID-IT. Also has a molle system for pouches if you'd like.

How about a cute mirror!

How about some cute binders for storing paperwork like this or this or this.

A cute little notepad for jotting things down.

Fun file folders.

These push pins are sooooo cute!

Sorry if there are any repeats. This took forever to type one-handed! (Feeding my baby.)

First, how is your closet designed? What storage do you have outside of your closet? Do you have a dresser or could you fit something bigger like an IKEA Pax? Maybe just a shoe organizer?

  • If you can change your closet, look into something like Closetmaid, Ikea Algot, or Container Store Elfa. Or DIY.
  • The goal is to maximize drawers, hanging, and containers.
  • Can't change much? There's freestanding Algot and Elfa drawers which can hold a ton. Both have variations. Even adding an IKEA Rast or Nordli could fit a bunch.
  • Another tip - are your closet doors working for you? Mine prevented me from accessing the entire middle so I switched to Bifold doors.
  • In college I used these hanging organizers for things like jeans and sweaters or this for shoes and even it made a big difference in a small closet.

Now let's talk storage. If you haven't, go for the velvet hangers. I buy mine in bulk from Costco but even Target has them and frequentish sales. If you fold things, file fold where you can. Get drawer dividers and sort.

This closet project for Lauren Conrad involves some more expensive solutions but there's a ton of lessons you can apply to cheap items. When you design your closet, consider leaving space on top of a shelf for file folded baskets for sweaters and such. How are you storing workout gear or lounge clothes?

Take advantage of the off season. Store out of season clothes elsewhere, like under the bed. (IKEA, (Closetmaid) I have a bench at the end of my bed that stores a lot of my out of season workout clothes. You might also look at where you store coats/jackets and if there's another spot since I know they can be so bulky. I have a storage cabinet in my basement for my hiking gear and I also throw the coats/jackets in there too when it isn't winter. During the winter I added a coat tree and I can store them in a corner, not my closet.

You can get them here.

They are really cheap, and therefore pretty cheap plastic. They flex a little bit to fit perfectly in the Alex drawers, and I like that they have a few sections. I included a few before-and-afters of some of the drawers, and I had some leftover for some of my skincare drawers as well!

u/ohgreatnowyouremad · 3 pointsr/travel

Did 5 weeks last year with the Farpoint 40 because I was looking to avoid all issues with my luggage.

Carry right on flights, wear it around for hours if needed, climbing stone steps without dragging traditional luggage, keep my hands free, etc.

Worked perfect if you're going for minimal packing and maximum activity potential.

As far as what to pack, I kept my electronics/cables/GoPro set-up organized with a GridIt, and otherwise just packed like 6-7 underwear, 6-7 socks, 4-5 shirts, 1 nice shirt, 1 sweater (for Switzerland), jeans, and shorts. Easy.

Also brought a daypack. Tiny backpack to keep water, sunscreen, etc. in for hikes and longer days out.

u/pleatedmeat · 2 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

Thanks for the advice! The shiny surface thing is part of my problem with this room and I hadn't even realized that was what the problem was.

I was planning on hiding cords (and my plant boots) with a curtain I make myself using a tension rod and black fabric to fill the hole in front of my feet. Or does that sound, er, dated? I was planning on making the curtain, if you will, like a regular curtain but if I put some effort into it I think I could make it pleated/fitted.

I was thinking I might get this table. I just saw it today and you can't really beat that price. Add a can of spray paint and make it blue? Sounds good to me!

I've ordered a roll of cork! I'll add fabric to it and all will be well to put the calendars on. It won't have a frame, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for price. This winter when the Julian calendars start getting handed out I'll try to get one smaller. I've hated that giant calendar all year. Maybe I'll add a frame later. Start small, eh?

The company office supply catalog doesn't have anything that isn't plastic or black mesh and I can't find anything on amazon in that material, but I found this one and it seems like it would eliminate my plastic things and my pencil mug all at once. I'll check out target before I buy, though. I'll look there for photo storage boxes as well. Amazon's selection is kind of slim.

I really appreciate the ideas! You offered lots of things that had never occurred to me. And the horse calendar is already in the trash!

I have the exact same CaseLogic bag, but I only carried it for about 6 months. It was super awkward, and if you forget to do up the little Velcro zipper stop tags, the whole front of the bag can come open and dump your stuff all over. I had a rolling bag for a bit, but it annoyed me, since I travel a lot of non-paved or cobblestone places, and I felt like it was bouncing things around.

My hubs finally convinced me to invest a little (less than $100 on sale) in an Epiphanie bag, which doesn't look like a camera bag at all, gets no second glances when I travel, and works as a functional carrying piece when I don't have my cameras. That, in conjunction with one of these, has done a lot to focus my gear list and travel style.

To note, I've been trying to streamline the amount of stuff I carry when I travel, and only bust out the big cargo stuff when I do stationary shoots. I find that carrying a bunch of stuff distracts from my enjoyment, as I spend more time worrying about the right equipment than just simply framing and shooting. It helps that some of the best shots I have are on my phone, from when I didn't have my gear at all. :)

Something like a flat filing cabinet or chest of map drawers might be good, but those tend to be pretty expensive.

Alternatively, you might be able to find some cheap boxes with drawers or art drawers. To give you some ideas (I'm NOT recommending these):

  • This art drawer might have worked, except that the height of the two upper drawers seems to be marginal. The height of the bottom drawer seems to be OK.

  • This box might have been usable, except that it's too small.

  • The size of this box might work, but it looks cheap, and some people would understandably call it fugly.

Organization is my problem too. I combed Amazon and found the following that have worked great for me

This file cart is small and compact
This is on my wall for important papers
I like my pens and pencils organized
This thing has been a game changer for organizing papers
I also have one of these

Yeah, I am finally at a point where I feel organized.

Cocoon Grid-It organizer. It's rather cheap and especially useful if you use different bags like a messenger bag for school and a backpack for a bit longer travels. You can easily attach stuff you need once in a while to the grid and just throw it to another bag.

Currently my grid-it contains a USB-stick, couple cables, one of those Victorinox card multitools, a powerbank and a pen. When I'm traveling overnight I add a toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste. 5/5 would buy again.

Edit: Pilot G-2 pen and Opinel No 08 knife are another fantastic pieces of equipment I carry everyday

If you have a Goodwill nearby, you should definitely check it out for purses. You'd be surprised by the gems you can find there!

As for saving space in your purse, you should get a Grid-it. Extra pockets in purses (that you may not even use!) usually just add extra bulk. You can really make the most out of your purses with these organizers. You can probably make one yourself if you're strapped for cash.

Edit: This is an absolute lifesaver. Comes with a pen, scissors, tweezers, toothpick, screw drivers, nail file, flash light, magnifying glass, and a ruler, and it all fits in your wallet! Got mine at TjMaxx a few years ago and I've been carrying it around with me ever since.

I've heard decent things about these pouches from Condor, relatively inexpensive
https://www.amazon.ca/Condor-Outdoor-POUCH-Pouch-Black/dp/B00CAYBC88/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1541651606&sr=8-14&keywords=condor+mesh

Personally I got a cocoon Grid-it organizer panel about a month ago, https://www.amazon.ca/Cocoon-GRID-Organizer-Black-CPG7BK/dp/B00479FQCM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541651757&sr=8-1&keywords=grid-it
fits pretty well in my edc/school backpack. I keep my pencil case, headphones, calculator, the plug for my phone charger, a small calendar, and one or two other small things on the front occupying less than half the space. The back just has a zippered pocket where I keep some misc papers, a formula sheet and ruler in. It sits in my bag in front of my laptop, my notebook, and a thin text book, but behind my laptop charger, and few first aid things and my waterbottle. It really has made my backpack organization more efficient.

I keep trying to post this through mobile, so, sorry if there are tons of duplicates.

Have you considered getting a Grid-It organiser to organise things like chargers and headphones? What about something like a nice leather roll-up pencil holder to store all his pens and pencils?

If you're male and looking for a bag that isn't a backpack, making you look like a child, and isn't a purse that is feminine. Then I suggest the Frost River Field Satchel, the small one is big enough. I carry all my stuff in there every where I go.

I combine it with the Cacoon Grid-it Small Organizer which fits perfectly inside.

Yes I use these mail sorters:

https://www.amazon.com/OfficemateOIC-Standard-Compartments-Transparent-23214/dp/B00BCGSDLY

I got them when they were on a really good sale for $3/each!

I will try to post closer up photos of the sorters later today or sometime this weekend. :)

This is my humble vanity that I've waited years to have! It's functional, simple, and was relatively inexpensive to construct.

Please let me know if you'd like any reviews of any items shown!

The vanity itself is Alex drawers ($80) from Ikea with the 39" Linnmon Table Top ($9) and two legs ($8).

Chair is the Adde chair in white ($12.50) from Ikea.

My mirror is from Bed Bath & Beyond several years ago, and is double sided, lighted on both sides, with magnification on one side.

All acrylic pieces are from Home Goods and Amazon.

White cups are from Ikea.

The palette organizer is from the dollar section at Target.

Drawer organizers from Ikea and Amazon.

Thank you. I really like the second. Though it does look more like a gym bag than a work bag. Could work though.

I like the simplicity of Le Pilage but I am avoiding having multiple smaller bags to keep things organized.

FYI, I use GridIt Organizer to keep laptop cables, headphones and my phone organized in my current work tote.

Cocoon CPG7BK GRID-IT! Accessory Organizer - Small 7.25" x 9.25" (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00479FQCM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RbXDDbR5QWS2S

I got lucky and found the Grey one used for 8 bucks. The black, pink, and white and the cheapest right now

u/ShtDaHllUpMarguerite · 7 pointsr/EDC

Thanks! Another user on a different thread pointed out that they sell the vertical organizer separately for use in other bags or backpacks: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00479FQCM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.zUSzb470DXNY

I few months ago, I bought some of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GXU43G

and now all of my drawers look like this: https://i.imgur.com/lnXoG57.jpg

Also, check out something like this organizer if you go with something that is just a single large compartment.

u/generic-curiosity · 16 pointsr/AmItheAsshole

This! one of those book-safes or one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Stand-Steady-Original-Potato-Clamp/dp/B07DY1Q9RB/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=slide+on+desk&qid=1570309122&sr=8-2

I hate it when people help themselves to stuff that other people have clearly put effort into without reciprocating.

u/Munsonise · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I use these in my Alex drawers.

u/Hylian-Loach · 3 pointsr/EDC

Have you seen a Grid It Organizer ?

u/zombierobotvampire · 4 pointsr/networking

Network Engineer with a few random hands-on requirements here and there, mostly rack related and/or mounting a random piece of equipment... I personally just use this; got it on sale for less than half that price on Black Friday, so it was a steal. That said, it definitely suits my tool carrying needs; then I have this in my backpack for network and other random peripherals for my Mac.
