Hellllllllllpppppp

I've always struggled to find a sectional I like and now I found one I LOVE but it only comes in 2 shades of grey and I don't know how it will look with the tables I've picked out and the general colour scheme of rich jewel tones (which I have picked)

I haven't gotten any of the things I'm linking yet and won't be for a while (because dreams are expensive) but can someone see if they can picture these today with jewel tones blankets and pillows (rich burgundies, deep purple, royal blues, etc)

It’s from amazon! Rivet Meeks Round Storage Basket... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792HCFJR?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I wanted the grey but it was literally twice the price for some reason. It looks good without the basket too - there’s a shelf underneath it that matches the table top.

Edit to add: ok wow apparently all the colors are up to $119 now. I paid $58.17 less than a month ago. Maybe set up an alert on camelcamelcamel.com to see if the price drops again?

I made this so I could visualize it myself. Simple and minimalist, so it seems fairly low maintenance. I like a black painted wood bench (add some pillows for your style), a black metal end table, and simple decor like potted plants and oversized lanterns. I think the curtain helps close in the area and make it look more cozy. I know this style isn't for everyone and may not exactly match your house exterior, but let me know if you like it :)

just like everything electronic and small it costs a pretty premium, but based on your situation (small space, large tv) its probably the best option if you dont want to get a small desk. Your other option is something like a pair of these which will set you back a bit less but IMO be a much less elegant way to do it.

I'd do a nice shag carpet trailing from beneath that bed, and maybe a light-wood blanket chest at its foot. If you're going for mid-century modern, as per the lamp and pillows, I'd try for some matching artwork, and perhaps some pop-art canvas prints, on the wall. Definitely a big, fat, personally resonant poster, on the wall above the headboard. That heating unit by the radiator is THIRSTY for plants! I'll be honest, I'm not in love with that mirror. If you could somehow remove that wavy border, that'd be better. Maybe install a bureau/chest of drawers beneath it, to give the impression of a (slightly more butch) vanity. You might try putting the bed against the mirror, just to see how that looks. As for nightstands, probably go metal and wood, just like the bed. Maybe [this] (https://www.amazon.com/SONGMICS-Nightstand-Stackable-Furniture-ULET54X/dp/B0783PDVTH/ref=sr_1_10?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1541258272&sr=1-10&keywords=metal+nightstand) or [this] (https://www.amazon.com/SONGMICS-Vintage-Assembly-Furniture-ULET41X/dp/B074WNTK3Q/ref=sr_1_5?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1541258272&sr=1-5&keywords=metal+nightstand). I just did a "metal nightstand" search, on Amazon. Wayfair might have more interesting options.

No other wall to put everything? That wall with the glass door is very limiting.

If you move the Besta to the left a bit, left tower speaker could over lap the window a bit, but the right speaker is not ideal next to a wall.

For bookshelf speakers, use more stable End Tables instead of speaker stands. Attach the speaker to the table with a bracket on the back or sticker velco underneath the speaker.

Or yes, wall mounted speakers, there are slim speakers that are designed for wall mounting. Or in-wall speakers.

You could use a Table Top TV Stand to raise the TV to put 2 small speakers on their sides underneath or 2x LCR speakers or a passive 2 or 3 channel speaker bar.

OP 1) Purchase brown or light brown sofa covers; if they're too steep in price for you get yards of those solid colors and toss them over both.

2) Move the loveseat exactly to where the sofa is at placing it flush to the entrance frame as your sofa is. This will free space up in front of your fireplace and ALLOW you to fire that fireplace up without fears of the loveseat's fabric going ablaze.

3) Rotate the sofa 180° counter-clockwise so that the end without the armrest is closer to the door frame and yet opposite and adjacent to the loveseat. (The armrest side of the sofa should be the nearest to the fireplace side.) Then move it towards the fireplace by 1-1.5 foot.

4) Purchase https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077MLYPKZ and place it in that 1-1.5 foot space I previously mentioned. This will allow anyone either seated at that corner chair of the sofa to have somewhere to write, place their drink or you to wisely place a small lamp. This product will also match your rug, flooring and livingroom set after installing covers.

5) Purchase several of these https://www.microcenter.com/product/486225/black---white-ergonomic-lumbar-back-support and then stack them on each other and leave it resting on one of the sofa or loveseat. As you get people sitting, pass them out as this will help their backs. Hell the straightness of that livingroom set hurts my back looking at it. But for $2 a piece you can't and will not go wrong.

6) Lastly pull the black coffee table back towards the new placement of the sofa by a foot. With both the sofa and loveseat now facing each other, you can use the table for board game nights or great nights of hosting amazing parties.

Bankers boxes are incredibly useful.

I plan to get something better to hold my laptop eventually. But the lid on the box holding my monitor was slooowly beginning to cave, so getting a monitor stand was priority #1.

If you're curious, this is the end table I'm using as a monitor stand. It happened to be the perfect height for me.

Not as swanky as one of those $1000 adjustable height desks. But it works for me.

Amazon, but it doesn’t appear to be available currently. I’m sure it’ll bring up plenty of similar, if not the same, results. Beware, the top is not wood. It’s study, for sure, but it feels much more like wood-textured plastic.

u/emdillem · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

no that's good. This one too is the kind of shape I was thinking of. To sit right alongside sofa end. It's not something I usually like on its own but in the right context it goes. The lamp would go well on the surface. And you already have a roundish glass clear coffee table. I'm thinking it would add some depth. But irl it might look cheap and tacky but so might the metal on the one you've selected. Also round lamp on round table not the best but if you love that it'll work.

Also yay for wood toys over here. Except for a few hand-me-downs (just some colored shapes things that I thought would be educational), we don't do plastic toys over here.

Mostly for our own sanity. We're both designers and can't get over how tacky most baby shit is. The rock n play turned out to be a total necessity but I'm counting down the days until I never have to look at it again.

I found this table from Amazon, and we keep the living room supply of toys stored in there. It's great because LO (just turned 1) can serve herself. But if we don't have it overflowing (which we never do), you can't really tell at first glance that they are baby toys in there. We figured when she's older we'll just put an extra throw blanket or something in there.

There are a lot of options that will depend on your style. From this Frenchi Home Furnishing End Table/Side Table, Espresso Finish https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FSHE3I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Mv5VDbF4ESP86 to Phoenix Home Tilburg 2-Tone Wood End Table with Drawer and Lower Shelf, Charcoal https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L85XJZ7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_ux5VDbNKNYP04 to something like this. See what fits your style. I wouldn’t buy a floor lamp but use the table to pull a nice lamp up. I find mirrors are reasonable at places like tj maxx, Burlington coat factory or thrift stores.

u/limitz · 5 pointsr/InteriorDesign

Wow, some people post some expensive stuff. $350 for a small table? A little overpriced for me.

Check this out, I use this to hold the bowl where I keep my keys:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00474RLSE/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Decent finish with a triangular design. Good quality for the price.

u/OwnBlue · 4 pointsr/AmateurRoomPorn

Get what you're saying it's hard when you have stuff but a small space.

If you're not using the piano that much I'd push it in the corner where the guitar is. Could then put a corner ladder shelf like this in the opposite corner left of the piano and put all the espresso stuff there and get rid of the espresso bar. If you need a little table for the espresso machine you could put it next to it, maybe get something with wheels to to move out of the room when you're dining there.

At that point you could even turn your dining table 90 degrees might look better and more room to walk around it.

u/dizzy_clarity · 3 pointsr/InteriorDesign

I have this platform bed in king size and I'm pretty happy with it. It does have slats though, so it might not be what you're looking for. The full size one is only $208:

You could also get a nightstand or two for it:

Yes, search “small table” as well as “wooden stool”, “plant stand”, “accent table”...etc.

I have this visual of someone knocking the HP over by bumping up against it, and then the weight of the HP ripping the power cord and it hitting the floor.

It's this one, I took out the wheels and added fur pads so it would slide under the sofa
