Dog hair.. my area of expertise, lol.

Giving your dog a bath once a week (or biweekly) will do wonders on shedding. I can’t empathize that enough. I dunno what your situation is in terms of where you can wash him, but I wash my dog in the tub with a long detachable hand held sprayer. This is an example of one, but I’d recommend finding one that is longer for washing the dog. Or maybe one that attaches to the tub facet if you can. That one I bought for my standup shower for cleaning the shower between guests, but too short to wash the dog. I bought a much more expensive one for my master bath where I do wash the dog but also serves as a nice attachment for myself.

As for hair removal, get a good bath brush to use while you give him a bath. This has been a huge game changer for me when giving him a bath. It makes the shampoo work more effectively and removes hair like a champ. Probably can find a similar one at a pet store.

Running that Roomba regularly is also key. If you have hardwood floors, any hair on the floor will be vacuumed up before it spreads to clothing/shoes or is kicked up in the air. Make sure you clean out the filter and the brushes every 2-3 runs. I have extra filters as replacements and clean the filter under the sink water and let it dry after I switch it out. You can buy Roomba replacement brushes/filters on amazon also for cheap.

Another deshedding tool is the Furminator, but only use it after a bath when your dog fur is clean and dry. Using it otherwise will pull and snag and be uncomfortable for him/her. They are expensive and I’d hold off on getting one of them before buying stuff for bathing.

In the winter, my dog doesn’t shed very much so if you live in a climate with colder weather in the winter, it won’t be as much of an issue generally for most breeds.

Edit: i never used to give my dog regular baths because using the hose outside caused for very difficult baths. Tobie hates the cold water and it was impossible to keep him still like I can in the tub. You might also be able to find a self dog wash in town. One of my car wash places has a dog wash station.

marry a weed sprayer with a sink sprayer

Assemble the brand new never used weed sprayer, but instead of using the wand, splice in a sink sprayer.

Heat water on the stove to about 110 °F, pour it in the sprayer and pump it up. You will probably want a wash cloth for this and a draft free environment. Maybe a second bucket of warm water to wash with, leaving you most of the spray to rinse off with, but it's optional.

You need to take a navy shower with this rig, but it will get you clean.

If you use this in the cabin's shower stall you'll have to get some RV antifreeze to pour into the plumbing traps before you leave.

I used two halves of a sink hose weight, and zip ties. Looks pretty good.

But I got them when replacing my sink and thought, these would do well!

I've shared this here before and it's worth mentioning here too.

I take lawn/garden pressure sprayer and replace the end with a sink sprayer. You'll also need a fitting to connect them which is likely this but you can't know for sure until you have the garden sprayer in hand. This gives me very simple, one handed control over a relatively low flow water sprayer that's designed for rinsing soap off of things.

It's simple, cheap, it doesn't take any electricity and works really well. I can take a full shower including shampoo and conditioning long hair with less than a gallon of water.

Yikes. I hope I don't need to replace the valve. The hose seems much cheaper. How could I test whether it's one or the other?

Edit: Nevermind, both expensive. It's the LadyLux Cafe so I probably either need http://www.amazon.com/Grohe-46-138-000-Coupling/dp/B003FZAFOI or http://www.amazon.com/Grohe-46-092-000-Replacement/dp/B002ZLPTX0/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_text_y

Now to figure out which

Double edit: Looks like it's the valve at the end of the hose that connects to the head. Figured it out when we pulled out the head and it stopped leaking under the sink. When I tighten it, the leak stops, but instead of getting completely tight it keeps turn to where it feels loose again. I suppose my problem is temporarily solved at least.

Thanks for your help!

I posted this the other day but a Reddit user suggested I paint it black to have it absorb more heat so I figured I'd post up the finished product. If anyone is interested here's the materials I used, just cut the rubber hose attached to a new clean insecticide sprayer, attach adapter, put on your hose and boom, camp shower with fairly decent water pressure.

Are you thinking of those things that are connected to your sink to rinse things that are too big to fit completely under the faucet?

This is what I am imagining:
