29. Bellemain Funnel Stainless steel (3 pc small funnel set)

    Features:
  • WHEN ONLY THE BEST MINI FUNNEL WILL DO: We know conventional funnels back up or wobble when filling, so we went searching for the answer. After a lot of trial and error, we found the solution. Now, whether using it with thin-necked oil and vinegar dispensers, salt and pepper shakers, hot sauce containers, hip flasks, spices, herbs, aromatherapy bottles or beyond, our perfectly sloped, carefully balanced funnel provides the smoothest filling.
  • MORE AIRFLOW WITH TRICKLE-GROOVE TECHNOLOGY: Sometimes with small amounts of ingredients, blocks happen. But Bellemain’s mini funnels are custom made with a trickle groove embedded down its stem to allow for more airflow and maintain a steady flow that big kitchen funnels envy.
  • THE NO-CORROSION PROMISE | HIGHEST-GRADE STAINLESS STEEL: With 18% chromium for maximum corrosion resistance, your mini funnel set will stay beautiful and safe for years. The professional food-grade stainless steel that makes up these funnels also resists breaking, bending, scratching, and rusting.
  • NO OPENING TOO SMALL: Set includes 3 nested stainless steel funnels: 2.75"W mouth with 0.5"W stem; 2"W mouth with 0.31"W stem; and 1.5"W mouth with 0.19"W stem.
  • SUPREME STABILITY | EXPERTLY WEIGHTED DESIGN: Prevent messy spills with Bellemain’s perfectly balanced, perfectly sloped funnel bowls, and say good-bye to tipping, wobbling, or messing up your counter while pouring liquids or powders.

Ah, after further reading (never worked with it before), it seems as if diatomaceous earth (celite) is used as a filter media for the fine dust-grade carbon itself . It (DE) is siliceous, therefore has limited absorbent properties. Due to its fine particle size and neutral phsyical/chemical properties, it is an ideal media for manufacturing single-use in-process filter beds during vacuum assisted filtrations.

Short-version - diatomaceous earth (celite) forms an additional super-fine filterbed on top of your normal buchner filter paper (or coffee paper if you're a cheapo), that assists in removal of fine carbon used for color-working product.

Personal suggestion/question - Why use celite? It costs as much as a low-micron fritted glass filter, and seems to just add more labor. Or alternatively, why not use fish-filter carbon? it is larger in particle size, and much easier to catch without adding another single-use product to your filtration process. (When I do this at home, I'd add the fish-filter grade carbon, and let it sit over night in the freezer, and pass it through a frit-filter, winterizing and colorworking in a single step)

Celite is just a trademarked brand of diatomaceous earth.

- cheapo fritted glass filter - (real cheap, stoneyglass is good for the price though) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0781C4C8P/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0781C4C8P&pd_rd_w=Qgg4T&pf_rd_p=46cdcfa7-b302-4268-b799-8f7d8cb5008b&pd_rd_wg=0BoHA&pf_rd_r=QQWVJWQ3JG5D5WS8RYRZ&pd_rd_r=d46bbb9d-7a90-11e9-9308-7719d34db95a

Tip - To clean your fritted filter, use warm ethanol. Ethanol drifts in polarity depending on temperature, when hot, it picks up fats and waxes, and when cool, forces them out of suspension. So, when you get a fatty filter, just run hot ethanol through it.

If you have a good spacious pot, I don't see any reason to get another unless you want to pressure can.

The Ball canning kits with the funnel, spatula, magnetic lid wand and jar lifter are actually great except the jar lifter, which is similar to the Norpro mentioned by another user. It's a cheap piece of crap. Mine fell apart in a couple of years. The Ball Secure Grip is much better.

> what are your thoughts on decanters generally?

Of all the accessories, I don't have one and I don't plan to get one. For everyday drinking it is not needed. For old bottles I like to see the label better. If wine needs to breathe I just pour a glass and wait a little (little may be from 15 minutes to opening the bottle few hours before). In case of deposit I filter it with a funnel and filter (you can easily achieve the same with gauze) and put it back in the bottle.
If, however, I was to get a decanter, I'd go to Bormioli, good value for money (I'm in Italy and that's my easiest choice, however I believe is widely available worldwide - YMMV).

Thank you for the very detailed reply. I’m gonna try the temperatures definitely! For the funnel is this something that might work:

I am currently using a 8-cup sifter.
Is there any other ways rather than woods to make them stand? I just don’t have any equipments for woodwork. (I was thinking cardboards but it might burn so doesn’t look like a good idea 😅)

Sure, just bought these myself off Amazon and they come tomorrow so I can’t yet really say how they are, but I love the funnel

I also went for a flask funnel to transfer liquid, but found that the stem wouldn't fit inside my "pocket friendly" bottles.

I ended up buying this set and have been quite happy with the three sizes (though I primarily use the smallest one due to its stem diameter).

u/InternetNapalm · 2 pointsr/milliondollarextreme

You gotta be more careful hombre. I usually bring a funnel to increase my aim radius.

As your skill increases and u can gradually decrease the funnel size until u can do it free hand. baby steps man baby steps

V60 size 02 should be able to handle 40g, 03 size will definitely handle your range. Chemex (mentioned before) and Melitta 8-10 cups should work easily as well.

If you really need to go higher, this should work for 100grams. It's the same concept :)

CAVEAT: these are amounts I arrived at through experimentation, using the FAQ as a starting point. They work for me and YMMV.

I use:

  • nu-salt for potassium, 1/2t
  • pink salt for sodium, 4 grinds which is maybe 1/2 t
  • powder magnesium citrate, 1 scoop (about 500mg)
  • 1 packet True Lime or other flavor, or citric acid powder
  • a smidge of monkfruit powder, just enough to make it palatable

The above goes into a 26oz blender bottle with water and I sip throughout the day. When it was hot this summer I sometimes went through 2.

I mix up about a week at a time into individual containers and keep them in the pantry and gym bag. The containers I use are these:

You can also get a funnel with a removable screen as well. But doing a whirlpool would be EVEN MORE BETTER!

This funnel is the perfect size for (non-widemouth) mason jars. It fits just inside half-pint, pint, and quart jars perfectly, making it much less of a mess.

u/helix6 · 1 pointr/reloading

I like it a lot. Sure it's a little slower than an automated thrower - but it was very affordable and it's not that much of a chore to put together 30-50 rifle rounds.

The only mod required was to glue a button to the bottom of my RCBS pan/funnel so it would fit the scale.

How is this different than a standard kitchen funnel? Not sure I see the benefit over something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Durable-Stainless-Strainer-Ideal-Transferring-Dishwasher/dp/B076F1C3SG/

There's this little cheap metal funnel I found on Amazon that's the perfect size to load the flowermate. I'll see if I can find it and post a link

Love having the amber vials for everything. Feels so official.

u/Astramancer_ · 6 pointsr/LifeProTips

It probably isn't worth it unless you use some hella-expensive shampoo, or something. But this thing is under $4, and it's awesome.

Are they still $300. Ouch! Now $200. still expensive.

Finally, after Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Surgery I am looking at woodworking after taking years off. Irony is I spotted this funnel think at the wood store, and realized "perfect" for pouring things from big bottles to little bottles. Smart Funnel

Oh, I also ordered a 3D printer.... to make bigger tooth paste caps! Pet peeve is dried out tooth paste, followed only by caps too small to use my fingers on!

Do stop in and check out /r/Parkinsons Yes there is a reddit for everything.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post links to puffitup ( I am not advertising FYI just giving some helpful links)

And

FYI anyone not using the WPA is using the CFX/CF wrong. I absolutely hate using my CFX or CF now with the mouthpiece. It's a completely different device through it. Honestly even a j hook weird setup out of the WPA helps. It just cuts the draw resistance in half, allowing for bigger draws. And for cleaning I use a pick to scrap off just where the screen is if it gets gunky on the inside, takes 5 seconds, it really just works for a long time until the reclaim builds so much you need to boil the piece in milk for stem milk or iso wash. The funnel is so worth it too. I thought I was dumb for spending 10$ on a piece of plastic but the huge issue with this vape is that bud falls in to those cracks holding the mouthpiece but now I just pour in, takes 1 sec to pack.

Buy funnels and leave them around the house.

There's some cheap deals in Amazon.
