Tell me what you do to make the world a better place. Saying that you don't is not acceptable. We all change the world with every single interaction, and if you are here, I know you've changed someone's world for the better at least a little.
Tell me someone or something that changes your world for the better.
Tell me a dream/fantasy/goal you have that you work toward.
While this contest is going on, I will clean, organize, and then the people who are annoying me will come back to my house. Tell me that I have the strength and grace to be excellent to them.
Please link me to something you'd like. My total contest budget is $16. I don't say that I will not go over. I don't say that it's $16 to one person. I don't say that it's not. If there are 10 entries I absolutely love, and I can buy something that two people really, really want, that's great. If not, well, $16 doesn't go all that far, ya know! edited to add: I have priiiiiiimmmmeeeee
(I've provided several different options, as I can't narrow it down to one lol. All are under $16 and have prime eligibility)
Definitely will cause I really like it thus far, although I'm new to the notebook game!
Got it on Amazon. Here's the link Northbooks Notebook / Journal, 96 Dot Grid Pages, Acid Free Sheets, 5x8 | Made in USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013VPDJLW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xf6RybFKB00GJ
Virtually everyone on Amazon seems to really like it as well. The paper has a nice weight to it and seems to be rather sturdy. It is a little bigger than the edc range, being 5"x8". Despite this, I plan on carrying it around pretty often. Recently I have got into woodworking and wanted paper to have the quad effect so I could more easily create angles, lines, and boxes. The dots make it easier to see a solid line going straight across than normal quad paper does and I enjoy that aspect of it.
The spine of the book while strong, doesn't make the paper have creases, even on the first couple pages. Hopefully this is a sign of good quality.
Overall, I'm happy with my first purchase and thanks for being so welcoming!
I took 21 credit hours one semester in college (while I was in ROTC and had a part-time job). I continue to live a busy life (work a full-time job that requires travel, own a small business, and serve in the National Guard). Here's my advice:
Google Calender: Get one and use it. Input assignment & project deadlines, workout schedules, social activities, and anything else you need to track into it. Set reminders so that you have no excuse to forget about a deadline.
To-do lists: Take the time to write down a daily to-do list every morning (I carry a Moleskine ruled reporter notebook), but you can use any piece of paper or phone app. Prioritize your most important tasks and do those first (I highlight mine). Use small, manageable tasks to achieve a larger goal. You will feel amazing every time you cross off a task.
Find a workplace: In college it was the library. Now I use coffee shops. Make it a place that you go into specifically to get work done (reading, research, typing a paper, etc.). I like to set up my work station, order a large cup of coffee, put in my headphones, listen to classical music on Spotify, and get shit done. You'll be crossing tasks off your to-do list like crazy and feeling good about it!
Read correctly: I was a history major in college, so I had to read tons of shit. You need to read assignments pragmatically, not for enjoyment. Before you read something, do a quick google search for the book or article. Find out what it's about and what the summary is. Read the table of contents, and then start reading quickly through the chapters. 3/4ths done with the page and understand the concept? flip the page. Get 3/4ths done with the chapter and understand? Move to the next one. (Not all books can be read like this, but keep in mind you're not reading to enjoy the book, you're reading to understand the content & conclusion the author is trying to prove. Also, many authors write with "filler content." You'll quickly learn what information is important, and what is put in to make the book longer.) Type or write down study notes as you go. It's proven you remember shit better when you write it down, plus you'll have a consolidated guide for future study, discussion, & research purposes.
Exercise: You're going to have days that you don't sleep as much as you want. You'll feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and on the edge of an anxiety attack. You'll be surprised what a 30-minute bike ride, jog, or P90X workout will do for you. Energy levels will increase, you'll look better naked, feel better, and you'll have crossed off a task on your to-do list!
Attitude: Keep it positive. Plan time to periodically do things that recharge you (I like to bicycle, have drinks with my friends, or cook). Your emotional (and spiritual) health is important at times like this. Do yoga, meditation, kickboxing, religious stuff, or whatever to keep you sane. I'm not particularly into that existential shit, but you need to identify what works for you to maintain mental health. Listen to music that makes you feel good, take time to appreciate things, and don't let yourself feel sorry for yourself. Remember, your not the only busy person on planet earth - you can manage this.
Caffeine: lots of it
The habits you establish now will help you profoundly in your professional career. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck and keep at it! NOW GET THE FUCK OFF REDDIT! YOU CAN DO THIS!
I don't know if you'll think this is weird, but I think you might enjoy something like this -- it's nature-y and science-y, and a neat way to bring those things indoors. I have a thing for insects, so it's on my list too. (I really really want it!)
For writing, you can't beat Moleskine notebooks. I'm a freelancer, and I find them indispensable. The quality is excellent. I use the large reporter size for interviews, but I take this size everywhere. It fits in my purse or pocket, and I can jot down ideas whenever I'm inspired. I also love that it has a pocket in the back.
I didn't link any of my own things, because I have lots on my lists. If I win, I'd like you to pick something.
Awesome! I'm not sure what your budget is, but here are a few ideas for various price points.
-Your brother will undoubtedly have to use the adobe creative cloud suite while he's in school. It'd be nice to pay for that expense for a year!
-Graphic design content takes up a lot of room fast, so he will definitely need this. It's small enough for him to carry around, and Seagate is a great brand.
-If he has a tablet, this digital stylus could be great for sketching, rendering, or taking notes.
-To give him some inspiration for design ideas and projects!
Happy birthday, little baby Noodle!
Here's a happy birthday doggy surprise! Dogs always cheer me up when I'm down, and I just really love that video. It makes me happy as can be, and I hope it gives you a little bit of cheer as well.

Here's a journal that I've had my eye on for a while. They're also environmentally friendly! I love to Bullet Journal in my free time. It's a hobby that's taken my stress levels way down.

Happy 23rd!
I see you like stationary. Have you ever tried out Moleskin notebooks for writing? The binding on them is flat woven so you can flip them over without dealing with a spine. I like the texture of the pages too, and they're a pretty good value for multi-packs.
And other- $5 medicine organizer
This is one of my latest addition to the funny gif folder. Hopefully it gets a smile. :) Cake is a girl's best friend.
Some of the things I've gotten that have made my life a little easier.
I'm sure there are more and I'll come back and add them as I can think of them, these are some of the non-medical quality of life items I add to my every day to make things more bearable.
My absolute favorite is Mnemosyne 194. I'm lucky enough to have access to a local in-store supply, but you can find these on both Amazon and the Goulet website in a bunch of different sizes.
The paper is buttery smooth with hardly any ghosting, even with (drier) FP. Pentel Brush, EnerGel, Bic ballpoint, and Ticonderoga pencils are 100% ghost free in my experience. There are 30 lines with bolder lines every 10 lines so you can split the page into ideas/days/sections if you want. Each book has 80 pages, but you can write a lot on just one page. 7mm rule. My favorite size is the one I listed here, the 6x9, but they literally have like, at least 10 different sizes and 2 different paper styles (lined and graph).
I will admit that they are way more expensive than say, your regular Mead. But they're on par on quality and price with Rhodia and Clairfontaine.
Sorry, I just really love these notebooks and they have yet to fail me, even being shoved in my backpack as EDC planners for months. The cover isn't actually "hardbound" it's a plasticy kind of goodness that's super durable but still flexible if you're holding the book on your lap and need it to flex.
I was in a similar place as you. Here's what I got:
I wanted a small EDC that I could fit into all my pockets. It's not for everyone, but it's worked out really well for me. I use the pen almost daily, and even though it's only my third favorite in terms of writing, always having a pen on me is awesome. The Mirca has been great for just having a decent pair of scissors and a pocket knife. The other features will pay for itself when the time comes. The notebook I keep in my back pocket with the pen. It goes with always having something to write with, I now have something to write on.
I really should post my EDC soon, seeing as this sub was what inspired me to pick up those items.
Maruman 1 Hardcover Executive Notebook.
I've never used one, but I've had one in my cart for a month now and will pull the trigger pretty soon. Very affordable making it worth a gamble (well under your budget). All pages are micro perforated, and while it's not promising to be super thick and fountain pen friendly, it does say "minimal ghosting and bleedthrough" so there's a suggestion that it might be good for your broad tipped fountain pens. Made in Japan is always encouraging when it comes to paper stuffs. If you buy one before I do let me know how it works for you.
First review is about fountain pen bleed through and it suggests there is none. 80% 5 star reviews too.
YES! YES! YES! The Bullet Journal Method was created by Ryder Carroll who has ADHD.
My favorite produts:
Scrivwell Dot Matrix Notebook It's $12 (USD) and has 100gsm (aka thick) paper so that ghosting (where you see the what you've written on the other page) is minimal and bleeding (where your ink or markers soak through to the next page) is non-existent.
Steadler Triplus Fineliners Hands down the best pens I have used for my journal.
Crayola Super Tip Markers I use these instead of Tombrow Brush Pens because they are cheap and give me similar results.
Correction Tape No brand preference. It's a non liquid white-out that helps when you make mistakes, and you will make mistakes.
A really nice graph paper or dotted paper notebook. Sort of like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Classic-Notebook-Sketching-Journaling/dp/B015NG44GG?th=1
They are really nice for problem-solving and writing pseudo-code in. I am almost never without one. Also, I always have a little passport-sized one in my back pocket at all times because you never know when you will solve a problem and need to jot it down.
It would also probably be nice to include some nice pens or pencils with a notebook. Maybe a box of Blackwing pencils, which are excellent. Or maybe one of those space pens, they are pretty nice.
Depending on his style, Star wars themed cufflinks... I have a few and are great conversation starters. Bought in etsy.
Also, mechanical pencils. Spend some money on a good quality one from Rötring (like this) or a Kuru Toga (look those up, they're awesome and SUPER geeky) or both.
Top it off with a fancy notepad (squared or ruled paper, we're not artsy types) like this and he'll remember you fondly every day.
Do not buy electronics or gadgets. He'll likely have what he wants and likes.
I'm exclusively a 0.5mm lead user.
My preference is a 2B or a 3B for smoothness, and I use Pentel Ain Stein lead. (Got a multi pack from 2B-4B for $12) It tends to write slightly darker than a standard lead, however, it does get used up much faster. This for me is not an issue since the difference at least in my hands is so much smoother.
There are many notebooks to choose from, maybe check out /r/notebooks but be warned your wallet might hate you. I like the Semi B5 size since it is without margins and if you write small it approximates the similar writing area for my personal use since I never used the margins in the 5 star notebook types. The lines in the maruman are very light and easy on the eyes. The paper is very heavyweight and thick. I typically find it hard to see through the pages so you can write on both sides without seeing lines pass through. The covers are a heavy duty plastic material and great for long term use.
I got these notebooks for archival purposes. I use them to write down engineering formulas and notes on designs -- things that I need to constantly reference and have handy. I paid about $8 each notebook with tax and shipping. Highly recommend them!
Here are the particular items I got so you can take a look:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017BDDZ7I - Kuru Toga
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HODH9QI - Leads
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OPQA7SK - Eraser (Don't buy the multi pack the erasers suck, but the holder is awesome. I took a Pentel Hi-Polymer eraser, and cut it up with a razor blade to shove on the sticks this thing comes with. Best eraser you can use! I also have the Pentel clic but it's not as good as the blocks since it's a harder polymer so it smears and doesn't erase perfectly.)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SWVXZ5G - Maruman Notebooks in Semi-B5
Also, shop around. Prices vary greatly for these items. Amazon may not be the cheapest, and sometimes Jetpens can be a huge ripoff so shop around before you buy!
wonderpens.ca? that and I'd try amazon.ca -- you can scrounge up weird free shipping from third party sellers if you dig a bit (for example, this one's only a buck more than us amazon, after conversion.)
And to answer your broader question, i usually buy online. Just because it's easier to get exactly what I want, or to find the best price if it's something I' trying for the first time. I only really buy in store if it's something I also ready know i like (that is, for convenience purposes).
So my favorite so far are these ones off amazon, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0778KGTTB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_o2A1DbRTMTNT9
Comes in a 2 pack, and are cheap compared to some of the more popular ones. The pages are cream colored, and are just the perfect paper weight for me! I do a lot of random sketches and things in my journal. and these take pen and pencil really well, without being watercolor paper thick.
I have used the Leuchttrum ones, but the paper is way too thin imo.
There's the Oliver & Archer ones, which have thick paper and are great if you're doing watercolors and whatnot. But I personally think they're too big,.
There's also Minimalist Art on amazon, they're alot like the ones I linked. But a bit thicker paper
I tend to go to Barnes and Noble for bullet journals. They have some pretty ones. My preferred journal is an A5 dotted type. Amazon also has a couple good brands too I’ve tried. Here’s the specific one I’m using right now.
I get my pens from Amazon. They’re like off-brand Staedlers: 60-pack with stencils or a smaller pack for trying.
Happy bullet journaling!
Clothing advice for conferences:
Other things to bring to a conference:
So I'm in the midst of a love torn story. Two continents, no idea if we'll ever get to be together. The first time I left, before we'd said I love you, I secretly ripped out the last page of my notebook to hide in a book of his quoting a poem that we now call ours, from his favorite poet Pablo Neruda. I wrote "I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where". He eventually found it and now uses it as a book mark and takes it everywhere with him. Proof from my book.
What sweeps me off my feet is a good old fashioned sense of adventure. It doesn't have to be a real adventure to far off places, but when he grabs my hand and we go running down to the river chasing ducks, or get lost in the botanical gardens or the market...I just melt. Also cooking. Cooking gets me. That's all I need. Sweep me off my feet!
Item. Seeing as how I finished the last one :)
As others have said, I would encourage you to have practiced enough in advance so that you don't need to reference anything to answer their questions.
One thing I have done for interviews in the past is to bring a nice looking notebook (something like this). I usually have a few questions I want to ask the interviewer written down ahead of time. During the interview I may open it and jot down a note or 2 based off of their answers or things they expect of me (1 or 2 words, keep it brief as your attention should always be on the interviewer). Near the end of the interview I ask them questions from memory (or anywhere it flows naturally in the conversation). At the end of the interview they usually ask if you have any other questions for them and at this point I may quickly reference my notes to ensure I covered everything I wanted to. Again, everything should have already been covered by memory So you can thank them and head out. Afterwards I usually get contact info from a secretary if I don't have it already and send a thank you card for their time.
I think this strategy makes you look more organized and professional. I have received an offer every time I have used it. I want to stress one more time that practicing ahead of you time is the most important part of any interview though.
As an illustrator. The best gift I have ever recieved was a small pocket sized moleskin watercolor sketch book with a pentel brush pen and the windsor newton travel water color pack.
All three are teensy and I always have them in my bag for when I'm bored or have down time.
The water colors
the sketch book
the brush pen
Paints last for ever, the pentel takes(and comes with) ink refills and is pretty much indestructible and the moleskin will end up being one of dozens. Personally I like keeping a tiny one just so I always have one stashed. But I get moleskin sketchbooks compulsively. They are nice to have to many of
That's a very nice thing for you to do for your birthday!
I would love this sketchbook or this book for my husband. Or for that matter any of the many nail polishes on either my Canadian wishlist or my American wishlist. I love nail polish. :D
>If I had one that wasn't either in use or completely full of writing and sketches
I actually sort of thought of deleting this request and maybe even asking for a new one instead because I thought I might have a better chance at receiving that actually haha.
Ah well, thanks for the input! I'm assuming you're referring to this notebook, by the way?
I got mine last month in cork colour, lined. I like it more than the L1917 I had previously. It's a really good choice, if you don't mind having less pages for better quality paper. It's cheaper too. I would try one, and get something else next time if you fill it up too quickly.
If you need more detail, my review of it is actually the first one here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dotted-Journal-Notebook-PRODUCT-PROMOTION/product-reviews/B075NKDSBZ/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_acr_sr?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews titled 'Great paper'.
This one. No page numbers, but in every other way possible, including price, it's a superb notebook, with a sewn lie-flat binding, textured cover and nice thick paper. I use thinliners, fountain pens, gel pens, watercolors (no large wash areas, just to be safe) and brush pens and all work without with no feathering or ghosting. And the price is right! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078QP9KNM/
I’ve never seen the Tekukor that the other commenter linked, that looks great
This one is similar and cheaper and has a pen loop
SEQES
I also love Dingbats, though the pages aren’t as thick and won’t hold up to markers as well
Dingbats
Just thought this would be fun to do.

Sakura Pigma Micron 01 (0.25mm). It's a pigment ink, but I've tried a handful of different ones (Pilot Varsity was far worse). It's slightly more resilient to ghosting than something like a Leuchtterm, but I prefer higher gsm notebooks in general, though the paper may not dry as quickly for fountain pens depending on the exact type of paper (I have some Booqool ones that work with the Pigma Microns pretty well, but never tried with fountain pens)
you don't HAVE to buy anything fancy. a lot of BuJo like to have their journals be very pretty and decorated; to each their own, but functionally, all you need is a notebook and a pen. i do, however, prefer dot grid notebooks.
i got this
and then got this
i loved the aesthetic of my first one, but i'm rough with my notebooks and the paper cover ended up bending and getting torn up. the second was a plus too because it was spiral, not book bound. however, given the choice, if i got a book cover for the notebooks i would choose the second one for sure.
I'd also like to recommend a brand. Look up Minimalism Art on Amazon. I'll do you one better, here is a link. This is the best paper I've used and I have really only stuck to Moleskine as a comparison. I use a Lamy Al-Star F nib with Black Swan in Australian Roses ink. No bleed, no feather. Noodler's Black tends to feather on it a bit though. Plus the price is sweet.
i found it hard to believe that something cheaper than a moleskine could actually be better than a moleskine, but the minimalism art notebooks are both of those things. mostly better because the paper lets you erase things without shredding holes in it. the ribbon did fall off but scotch taped it to the inside back cover--problem solved. highly recommended
my absolute favorite so far has got to be the minimalism art A5 bullet notebook. it's a bit smaller than alot of the journals i see on here, but it has neber done me wrong (i.e, i have never had a marker or pen bleed through lol). also, if you haven't got the most amount of money to spend on the journal, it's cheap (compared to the more popular bullet journals)
if you're interested, here's the link to where i got mine on amazon, but i'm sure you could find it in store too, i think i've seen it at target and michael's but don't hold me on that:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1CP9KE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zpAqDbT5ZRP6Z
I purchased a Maruman Mnemosyne notebook. There is still ghosting, but it's minimal compared to the other papers I tried. Ultimately, I will have the pen tuned so it's not a gusher, but the paper is lovely and recommend it.

One of those foldable metal clipboards are helpful to keep everything together. I keep all my PHI on easily throw-away-able pieces of paper in the clipboard, and then a separate small notebook for notes I have on diseases, treatments, things to look up for the next day etc.
That way its just Clipboard for PHI crap, Notebook for Stuff to Learn.
What I need help with is how to organize my PHI half-sheets. Some residents have beautifully organized half sheets on their pts.. mine are always kinda scattered.

It looks like a Moleskine notebook. Super pretty notebooks btw.

Lol ikr. Looking at maybe begging for a $20 cover from amazon like this to keep them looking clean for a bit longer. Also convenient for pen storage. But eh, character, right?
This looks like a pretty affordable option worth trying out! My main concern is that I'll fill them up quickly since it has less pages than other notebooks I've been checking out (the main one I've been eyeing is this). But I do write tiny so maybe I'll manage the fall semester. I'll consider other suggestions in this thread but out of the three so far I think I'll try this one out first :)
Hello! I was wondering if anyone's had experience with the Paipur Notebook, the Essentials Dot Matrix notebook or SuperiorMaker Notebook?
I am currently using the L1917 and like it a lot, but I've been wanting to use my BIC rollerball pens which bleed through. I'm looking for a dot or grid notebooks with thicker paper and preferably leather/hard cover. Page numbers aren't a huge deal to me. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
I enjoyed this one - it checks many of your boxes, though it may not have enough pages for your liking.

Hi guys,
I want to start Journaling so I'm new in this sub, hopefully I can also ask for suggestions here(instead of creating a new post).
So I'm not very good at drawing hence I don't think I won't be drawing or using colours too much in it. I'll use it to track my habits, to do lists and other stuff.
Watching a youtube video, I liked these ones from BooQool as they are cheap and only "problem" looks like might be the number of pages.
https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Dotted-Journal-Notebook-Hardcover/dp/B0778KGTTB#customerReviews

Anyone has tried them? Since most probably I won't draw or colour too much, do you think there are better(or cheaper) option to buy for me?
I have a hardback notebook I use for list building and campaigns. The back cover has a pocket that fits the ability cards perfectly. I have a normal ultra pro card holder for the unit stats.
This card box
This notebook
definitely! here it is!
i almost always prefer to use graph paper for writing and note-taking, and i stumbled across this little journal last amazon prime day. i really recommend it.
Thank you! It's a Minimalism Art classic notebook. $11 on Amazon! I'm really pleased with my choice.
Thank you! If you’re interested in getting one, I believe it’s [this one.]https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1CP9KE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uiiACbMXRW1YH
It’s lasted me a real long time (thus far). I don’t doubt you’d be satisfied!
Thank you! And no worries you'll eventually, and even if it's not a big trip you'll bring memories if you print pics! A saying i like is bring memories, not things
Anyways the notebook as you said is a moleskin, here in Europe they are really easy to find, but I think online you can buy them from everywhere, they are my favourite, I use the flexible pocket sized, with plain white paper, I don't know what it is about their simple design that makes them so unique, plain simil leather cover, white pages with a pocket in the last page this is the Italian Amazon page
These are pretty nice and about the right size. Wire binding though.
Mnemosyne - N195A
A bedrest. I used mine every day since I didn't like sitting at my desk!
I would really really like this pocket Moleskine.
Would you like a falafel with that?
I've been using a Lemome from Amazon for a couple months now, and I love it. $12.99
All you really need to start is a pen, a journal and maybe a ruler. I got this Journal from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077P4GLMH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_maGOAb7SWG9ED. I really am loving it.
I use Moleskine Notebooks, these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/8883707265
If you have a better tip for nicer paper tell me, it's very thin paper, even the ballpoint pen is visible through it.
I was just browsing the sales and saw this will be on sale at 5:24 AM PST. I'm almost tempted..but I'm only 60 pages in my current bullet journal haha.
I also see a lot of fountain pens that will be on sale but I'm not quite ready to make that fountain pen jump yet. I was hoping Tombows and/or mildliners would be on sale but I don't see anything :(

It's a bit smaller than the 1917 but I like it so far!
I have a few journals I dont know the name of which I bought a while that work fine. But my more recent one for example, the notebook I just added to the products page, The ZLYC notebook is fine with fountain pens. It was also the first Journal that i've decided to really keep track of and decided to do daily.
My moleskine is good with fountain pens too.
Here is a large notebook
Here is the pocket sized version
Maruman Mnemosyne. Wirebound, semi-hardcover, great fountain pen paper, ~$6-7 for one notebook, and it has 80 sheets (160 back and front): https://www.amazon.com/Maruman-Hardcover-Executive-Notebook-N195A/dp/B00TES8EHA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1535955234&sr=8-3&keywords=maruman+mnemosyne
I've been using these for meetings and for other work related needs. There are also different sizes in case you want something bigger or smaller than A5.
Rereading your post, I realize that Lemome is the better fit, even without the page numbers.

I realy like notbookes with 5mm dotted paper. You have squares to draw maps and can you the dots as reference for things you write. Also the dots are not as distracting as lines or squares.
Something like this.
Moleskin is beautiful and soft to the touch. You need this pair to tuck away in your pocket for any idea that might come up!

How I did this when starting out on my own was to always round everything up. It makes it really easy and you don't have to spend much time or effort on it.
If I spent 35 bucks on some frivolous purchase, I calculated it as costing me 40 or 50 dollars. A 12 dollar meal costs 15, A 1.25 soda is 2 dollars etc.
Just round up to even dollar amounts so that mental math is easier. Then compare that number against your income. By doing it this way, all of those roundings make you feel like you have less money than you really do. When it comes time to pay a bill or an emergency comes up, you suddenly have a few hundred extra in the bank than you expect.
If you are bad at remembering those purchases and doing a running total, you might want to look into a note app on your phone or to even start hauling around something like this to keep a running balance in: Amazon Link. It is smaller than most phones so you can carry around a pen and paper without too much hassle.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8WC3AZ/

I started this Moleskine two and a half years ago. I write almost every day and sometimes have pretty long entries, yet I'm only 75% of the way done.
Nice system! I particularly like how you use the front inside cover.
My brother uses these small Moleskin notebooks because they fit in his shirt pocket. I'd do the same, but women's clothes tend to have either no pockets at all, or pockets so small they're pretty much useless.
These are the exact ones I used: https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Cahier-Cover-Journal-Pebble/dp/8883704983/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=moleskin+soft+cover+notebook&qid=1572903903&sprefix=moleskin+sof&sr=8-5&th=1&psc=1&utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
They come in an assortment of colors if plain cardboard color isn’t your thing :)
Mine is advertised as cream and I like it very much. I've always gone for colored paper over pure white, though. All depends on what you want to do with it color scheme-wise, I guess, and if a detail like paper color would bother you. These are the ones I use.
I've never tried one myself, but Redbubble has a good selection of hardcover journals! Unfortunately, there's no dot grids as far as I'm aware of- lined, graph, and blank are the only options I saw available.
I looked up "dot grid journal" on Amazon though and a bunch of hardcover ones came up! Here are a few:

I honestly haven't bothered to submit anything before, but I went ahead and dug something out of my notebook, the first least unformed and incomprehensible thing I could find:
https://www.reddit.com/r/poetry_critics/comments/84ikh0/horribly_unedited_first_draft/
If I don't get back on something, it's because I don't get email notifications from here, and sometimes go a week or more between visits. But feel free to PM me any time.
Writing can be a real struggle, especially when it comes to finding ways to express emotions. And poetry is it's own special struggle. It isn't as pure as composing music, and it's harder than simply writing prose.
Your honestly is incredible, and appreciated. I myself have been informed that I have ADHD, but I usually consider it "not being able to handle the really, really boring stuff." That's half an excuse and half an accurate description. They can tell me I have whatever they want as long as they prescribe me amphetamines.
I keep a small notebook, specifically one of these, but obviously much cheaper options in that form factor are available. And I prefer a Pilot G-2 or Uni-Ball Signo, black medium tip (.7 mm) on both. The pen is more important than the paper. Without the right pen the writing looks wrong to me, no matter what it is. I prefer writing everything by hand for the first few drafts, regardless of length. Basically everywhere I go, I have a pen and a notebook nearby. I end up doing most of my writing in the car.
As far as Reddit goes, I'm a relative newcomer, but you'll find all sorts of weird rules on different subreddits, and widely varying levels of how strictly they're actually enforced. This is a smaller sub, which tends to mean one extreme or another: very strict rule application or the rules are highly theoretical. I think they're more on the strict side here, but I have not empirically verified this.
Some subreddits are utterly fascist and have bots that remove your posts if you misplace a punctuation mark in the title or fail to capitalize "spoilers", but thankfully that isn't the case here.
If the only issue you have is the perforated pages, Dingbats also sells non-perforated notebooks. They’re the “Earth” line.
If you’d like to try something different, Archer & Olive sells 160 gsm notebooks with a multiplicity of designs.
This one from Lenome is also a contender. It has 120gsm paper, the Scribbles That Matter is actually only 100gsm
This is a handy video which compares a few journals......the STM and Lenome are in the Top 3
I am using this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075NKDSBZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ylqPBbPJCWPQ2 the pages buckle a tiny bit, it’s not ideal but it seems to cope alright.
Depending on your budget you can go for Muji, Moleskins or Ban.do! Amazon also carries a few that are cute
It's worth it to invest in some good tools.
If you want a small paper planner, I would go simple with something like a Moleskine pocket notebook.
They also make a "daily planner" type thing with one day per page, but that's kind of overkill IMO.
I usually only have memory issues during an episode. I guess I don't have the greatest memory otherwise, but its not always problematic.
I got into the habit of carrying around a pencil and a small notebook all the time. If I want to remember something I just jot down two or three words, its usually enough to jog my memory later in the day.
It depends on the journal. My lined is perforated, my bullet journal is not.

I've thought about this same idea, but I end up using my phone mostly (some of which has been deleted due to upgrades). From the sound of what I think you're looking for, check out a pocket moleskin journal. It should fit in a back jeans pocket, depending on your size, and it's designed to last. The cover and binding won't wear as easily. It has a ribbon bookmark and an elastic band to keep it closed. They come in ruled, squared, and plain. An idea I had while looking was to date the first page at the start and completion. When you move to the next, you can file it away and have some semblance of order when you're looking for some old idea or drawing.
EDIT: The dating thing is not as clever as I thought. It's a customer image.
I found Moleskine's dot grid to be very light, to the point where I stopped using mine because I couldn't see the dots very well.
Here's the link. I really like these types of notebooks because the dots are helpfull but not intrusive like graphpaper
I got these on Amazon. Not expensive, good quality paper (I really just use a Pilot G2 but don't notice much ghosting/bleed), lays flat, has a pocket in the back, page marker and elastic to close/do the pen trick with.
ETA: I think there was a blank page version too if you prefer that to the dots.

Focus for your computer, Forest for your phone, and some moleskines to take notes while producing.
I usually just keep my character sheet tucked away in my player's handbook, between whatever pages my class info starts. Other relevant sections are tabbed.
Regarding notes, some in my group just keep a three ring binder, and I have a small Moleskine where I take pertinent notes and doodle when things get slow.
I prefer one-hundred-ninety-two note

"...they're too small."
They have XLarge ones. (Which are still smaller than normal notebooks)
> Moleskin
Moleskines are a small leather bound notebook many people carry with them. Here is one example.
It’s by Lemome, I got it on Amazon UK
The only crutch is it doesn’t have numbered pages for the index page
Happy Cake Day!
You and /u/Dragonflyjen have the same cakeday btw!
Oh and This please!
I started using a moleskine watercolor album for this purpose. Though, I'm trying to find a middle ground. I'm thinking of trying this journal next: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0778KGTTB/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A21RF5V4SLR0ZM&psc=1
this one doesn't bleed through as much as many do

Just picked these up the other day. They're tiny.
Hmmm, I'm not sure of one that fits all your specifications but Maruman has a smaller Mnemosyne that's similar in size to an A5. Here's a link to it (and other options) on Amazon.com.
Is it this sketchbook?

I've been looking for one that could be used for both water color and pencil
Thanks for the comment. Most netbooks are unusable in the sun. Pixel qi has a screen PQ101WS01M with a 0.52 W draw. So correct me if I am wrong, but 0.52 draw 7 days 24 hrs = 88 watt/hrs. A generic dell battery would do the trick.
As for price, rock bottom pricing wasn't really the goal. Think of Moleskin notebooks.

Spent money? Write it down.
It is probably silly things like coffee and Doritos.
Also; pay yourself first man. Don't let that money leak away; be broke for two weeks. Put gas in the car; buy groceries; and pay all the bills.
And yes; I'm suggesting a physical notebook over Mint.com
This is what I usually have on me.
Sieht nach typischen Pigment Linern aus, kann die von Staedtler empfehlen. Das Skizzenbuch sieht nach nem klassischen Moleskine oder Leuchtturm 1917 aus
Whoops. Sorry to assume gender. Yeah I was really disappointed by the leuchterm's ghosting. I think the hype over it set me up for disappointment. I am currently using a cheaper lemome. It has good thick pages and virtually no ghosting.

So, since I am one of those people who wants to feel "writer-y." Tell me of a good, cheaper alternative for my unlined moleskine. To get something as durable I've used sketchbooks, but they are bulky and the paper, if quality, is far too rough toothed to be written with as it's ment for graphite, pastel or charcoal. Or I could use pen sketchbooks that tend to have a much bulkier cover if they are spiral bound or lose paper if they are glue bound. They also tend to come with white paper that in bright sun light can be used as a bounce light source which I suppose can help, but I find useless for my needs. If I forget about the durability my notebooks die a quick and unfilled death. My problem might be that I want too much and I have to accept that I just have to spend (ouch I thought it was only $14 last time) $16.46. But seriously I'm tired of dropping near $20 every time I fill one of these up. So can you help a brother out? I like the off white color (cream? egg yolk?), durability and size. My sketch books cost me just as much. I need to be able to draw and write because they are how I keep my art notes. Anybody?
