I tried every solution i could find online, have delivery optimization turned off in windows settings and set my connection to metered but the program still runs and eats bandwidth until i end the task manually. I’ve also been having weird issues where any time a program begins using a decent amount of bandwidth, the game that i’m currently playing will get huge ping spikes and I usually get disconnected from the match if i dont close the program. Is there no way to ensure that a specific game will always have enough bandwidth to run properly?

Hi I like this ikea Hyllis shelf hack (so affordable!) they are console/buffet height , and could run from lining to living room and accommodate dining needs in that room and media needs in the living room.

Because your room is relatively small and open, I think one long running shelf system will tie it together nicely without visually chopping up the space, and being very functional and useful. As well as pretty.

You wouldn't have to finish the metal and the wood in the same fashion as in this blog, just use the basic concept. Then your options open up to fit in with your style.

http://www.hometalk.com/8081499/hyllis-ikea-hack?expand_all_questions=1

For example the metal part could be painted or metallic paste wax (rubnbuff) to the finish more in line with some of your Pinterest items. The wood could be white washed, or you could go with white ikea countertops or cut stone if you could find sone light weight and affordable...

You might give turning the sofa then another try. And placing the reading chair near the bookshelves. You might be surprised how you can still enjoy the view and see the tv on the shelves... I'll do a drawing.

Your dining room is under the amount of clearance needed for comfortable use (I hate it when builders do this! It should be a minimum of 9'x9') so I would, if it were me, keep it very simple. That's where I'd put your rug! (You might check late season sales for outdoor rugs at places like a Target and Walmart etc. They could be on clearance and usually have great patterns and colors, as well be easy to clean for a dining area. Then I might do one over size art on the back wall. (I'll do a drawing) then just the dining room furniture. It will be very stylish, but also comfortable and I cramped.

For the cube shelf, (I moved it to behind the sofa in my drawing) you might consider leaning a few pieces of art (differing sizes) and accessories, rather than hanging a framed piece. It makes it more changeable, when you like, but more importantly, it feels less columnar and static.

You might consider an inexpensive swivel chair in a color similar to the reading nook chair. They don't have to match exactly in style or color but just feel related. This gives you more seating, and view out the window too.

https://www.amazon.com/Coaster-Swivel-Hydraulic-Tension--Black/dp/B00PB02ZL6/ref=sr_1_13?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1473635815&sr=1-13&keywords=swivel+chair ?

https://www.amazon.com/babyletto-Madison-Swivel-Glider-Slate/dp/B0077P3U6W/ref=sr_1_12?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1473635899&sr=1-12&keywords=swivel+chair

This also allows the reading nook chair (in my layout suggestion) to be both a reading nook chair most of the time, but when guests are over it can be part of the livingroom seating and work well...

I'm sorry it's hard to read my writing, my drawing app sucks sometimes...

But on left is the long hyllis idea type shelf (this could be hacked with Home Depot materials too, if you don't have an ikea) with the end closest to the dining room being a buffet like shelf and the rest working like a media center.....and the rest I hope is readable. Just ask if you can't read it or have any questions.

Oh I had written putting the tv on a swivel stand. Those are also inexpensive.

http://imgur.com/a/aq4Eu

Art can be diy-ed in expensively. Our sidebar has many resources and links for ideas. As well it has a rubnbuff link. Fir about $7 you could do most or all of the shelf legs. Really nice stuff and affordable.

And like mrs_shrew said! your ideas are great! and should all (any if them) look really well together in your space.

This is something I've had to deal with myself, as I had an office chair for my desk at home that I bought from an estate sale for like $30. After a few years the padding was worn out and I needed to buy a new chair. I went to all the local office supply stores and sat in everything I could. If you spend less than $100 the comfort is basically garbage. $200-$300 you start getting some more comfort but most of them are still pretty ugly or really not even that great.

I originally ordered the mesh high back, but the back really wasn't that high and it was absolutely aweful in terms of comfort, had to take it apart after putting it all together (not fun) and try to fit it back in the box (also not fun) in order to return it. I then order this back in January. Half the price of the name brand chairs but pretty decent still. It did have an odor that has mostly gone away, its pretty well built, rolls great, and for comfort I'd give it a 6.5-7 out of 10. I've noticed the longer I've used it, it's starting to feel a little wobbly on the base, but not enough to worry, just enough to think "do I need to invest in a new chair in a year or so?" I wish it came with a pillow for either lumbar support or the neck. You can tell the actual seat is probably molded plastic and is not comfortable for sitting cross legged. Looking at the DX Racer/Maxnomic their bucket style seating doesn't look to be as extreme. I also got it for about $30 less than what it's listed for now.

Final conclusion (tldr): If you want a new quality chair that will last and be comfortable you are going to probably have to spend $300 plus regardless if it's an office chair or "gaming" chair. If you are going to spend over $200 on a chair invest in something you know is well regarded and quality. I will definitely buy Maxnomic as my next chair because even spending $200 I feel the quality is still lacking for the price point. The fact that I can get it with the C9 logo is just icing on the cake.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions.

u/the_hu · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

I tried this chair out last weekend when I went chair shopping. First off, I'm not completely sure this is a "sale" since the chair has been this price for at least a week before I went to go try it (a lot of products have really high MSRPs)

I liked the chair, but the implementation of the headrest bothered me (the fact that it had a headrest at all was what made me interested in it in the first place). It dug into my back when I was sitting up straight (I'm 5'8'') and was not really height adjustable: the headrest could only be tilted upwards. Besides that, it was pretty comfortable and the features are pretty standard for the price point.

I ended up buying this chair from Costco for $80 instead (There is a special for it up till the end of this month I believe). It was much cheaper and actually felt a bit more comfortable to me.

Alera Fraze High-Back Swivel/Tilt Chair, Black Leather https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004C1RULU/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_M-MGxbKYGBBMB

This chair is the shit. Super comfy, nicely padded and it looks great. The quality is really nice too, it exceeded my expectations for the price.

I looked for a desk for months. Finally wound up going with a dining room dinner table since it offered me more than two feet of depth.

I think it turned out looking pretty nice.

Any leather office chair (e.g. http://www.amazon.co.uk/SANTANA-EXECUTIVE-LEATHER-COMPUTER-FURNITURE/dp/B00A3BZ8VW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1459334608&sr=8-3&keywords=leather+office+chair)

or specifically gaming chairs (they're optimised for comfort, but look a bit strange): http://www.amazon.co.uk/GT-OMEGA-RACING-OFFICE-LEATHER/dp/B00PE7JV4A/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1459334634&sr=8-9&keywords=gaming+chair

They're going to be quite good for your posture. Leather office chairs and gaming chairs are designed to expect someone sitting on them for hours doing work. They're meant to be comfortable and promote good posture.

Gaming chairs are probably the best. Stuff like DX Racer.

u/mastiii · 6 pointsr/financialindependence

I need a new desk chair, which is pretty important to me because I work from home. I've already been to my local university surplus several times and I wasn't impressed with their selection. I'm thinking about something ordering something online like the Amazon Basics executive chair. I don't even know what I'm looking for, to be honest. Or maybe a mesh back chair like this? Honestly, I'm pretty clueless. I would love suggestions on either specific chairs, or what to look for in general.

u/justmots · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Do yourself a favor and don't even bother spending $100 on that. First, good quality gaming racing chairs are upwards of $300+. That chair you linked, will make all sorts of noises, feel cheap, and probably not be made that well. Get yourself an ergonomic chair and you'll be much better off. In fact, I just got one that's pretty damn affordable and I love it. If I were to recommend you a chair it would be this one.

u/alcatraz26 · 1 pointr/LawSchool

I recently graduated law school and built a home office setup for around $600 (my law firm has a good work from home policy). Details below:

Desk - DlandHome L-Shaped Desk - $130

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0798JW7FD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The L-shaped desk contains plenty of space for my dual monitor setup and has plenty of extra space on the sides. It was very easy to assemble (unlike some IKEA desks) and ships in a manageable flat box. I keep it in the corner of my room and it is very sturdy and doesn't shake.

Chair - AmazonBasics Office Chair -$50

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D7P5BFS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cheap and comfortable.

Monitors - 2x HP 23.8 in Monitors - 2x $110

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072M34RQC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

These can rotate both horizontally and vertically, which makes them perfect for work. Also VESA compatible. The quality of these are pretty good, but I only use them for word processing and web browsing. Not sure how good they are for movies or gaming.

Laptop Dock - Dell Universal Dock - $130

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071YTQBXM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Compatible with any laptop with a USB-C port. It charges the laptop as well while plugged in. It works with my work laptop without installing any additional drivers. Supports 2x DP and 1x HDMI. You might need to buy additional DisplayPort to HDMI cables depending on the monitors you use.

Accessories

Logitech K840 Mechanical Keyboard - $60

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071VHYZ62/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anker Wireless Charger - $15

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If anyone requests, I can upload a picture when I get home tonight. Also feel free to ask any questions.

Here's a less expensive option, not highback:

I'm not familiar with those exact models, but they are generally good if the reviews/price is good. Return policy should be good if it doesn't work out, check before you order. :)

u/don_Shado · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Here's Amazon's best sellers: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/office-products/1069132/ref=sr_bs_1

My personal chair is very similar to this. http://www.amazon.com/Serta-43506-Bonded-Leather-Executive/dp/B00AVUQQGQ/ref=zg_bs_1069132_8

Also, I'm 6'0 and 220 and it's big for me. I definitely think a good chair is a big part of PC gaming. Good luck finding one!

u/Rhaeserys · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Could I post a question here about what office chair to get for ergonomic chair with lumbar support? If I can ask it; I need it for health reasons, my therapist said I need a better chair for my back and neck but I am having issues finding something that won't be trash and a waste of my limited money.

I found this on Amazon after filtering to good reviews but again, I have no experience in this whatsoever. My budget is $160-170 but I think if I really can't find anything good below $200 I might be able to push to that.

Serta Style Hannah I Office Chair, Microfiber, Light Beige

I am a very short woman, if that matters. I barely stand five feet.

Thank you! And if this is not permissible to be asked here, I apologize! I honestly have no idea where this might go and thought PCMR might be the best place to ask, if only to be directed elsewhere. :)

I did a lot of research on gaming/office chairs just a few weeks ago and settled on this one as a gift for my fiance. He really really loves it so far. It's extremely adjustable, which didn't seem as common in the cheaper chairs. The plastic-leather seems really nice, too, and looks good as well.

Here is the tube I'm looking for the type of plastic if it's available but I started drilling and for what it's worth it's pretty hard to drill into haha

1.) Something that is grey. This might be a stretch, the cover art is grey!

2.) Something reminiscent of rain. This version of the Bell Jar has rain on the cover.

3.) Something food related that is unusual. If coffee counts as food, then this TARDIS coffee mug is unusual!

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!) This Kindle is for my grandmother, I am actually saving for it now! I have my own.

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it! EVERYONE EVER SHOULD READ THE WICKED SERIES. Seriously, Gregory Maguire is probably the most talented author I've ever read, and I've read a lot!

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related! EDITED: Not on my WL This dirty and weird sounding Kindle book is free!

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...) I want to get this book for my thesis mentor, she loves cats!

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. I would be the belle of the ball in these. So pretty.

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? EDITED: Not on my WL but this is a freaking powerful movie that every "rebellious" teenager should watch. Life changing.

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain. I would stab them repeatedly. And also draw art for them so they regain humanity, thusly ending the zombie apocalypse.

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. This book was actually written by my thesis mentor, the one I want to get the cat book for haha, and it would help me finish my thesis which would make me a real grown up!

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. Don't gots none. EDITED: Not on my WL but extra pesky add on item because they get EVERYWHERE even once you've managed to get them home!

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? Already used the paperwhite for my grandma.

14.) Something bigger than a bread box. EDITED: Not on my WL but this is big!

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball. Pretty earrings.

16.) Something that smells wonderful. Plants usually smell nice.

17.) A (SFW) toy. LEGO RON WEASLEY

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school. Another book for my thesis reading list.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. I am simultaneously obsessed with my iphone and Harry Potter.

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. Freaking color changing coffee cups that are Marauder's Map themed! They change patterns with temperatures! IT'S LIKE REAL MAGIC MEISHKA!

Bought this chair in 2016. It is for big fat guys like me: 6'4" 400 lbs. It is still going strong and super comfortable.

I ordered this one off Amazon for $99 and free shipping. It won't arrive until tomorrow but looks promising based on reviews.

If anyone owns this chair I'd love to hear your opinions on it and know how it's held up after some daily use.

u/furdog111 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

No, any chair with a comfortable seat and a back that stays in an upright position is your best option.

I got this chair on sale and it has been the best chair I have ever gotten by far.

Don't buy into gimmicky "gaming" chairs cause they aren't anything special. They are solid chairs if you want to spend that much, though. Buy something inexpensive that has a solid rating.

u/Pegguins · -6 pointsr/DotA2

That chair there is about a $350-400 chair. You can get a really top quality office chair for about $500 easily this one for isntance and almost definitely cheaper if you look around for a used or wait for a sale. And the difference is that if you get one thats been used for a year and a half, it wont be trashed. Hell, even ikea have better chairs than those racer shits like this thing i used while writing my PhD dissertation and was actually really good.

u/hyperRed13 · 9 pointsr/femalelivingspace

I bought this a few years ago and have been pretty happy with it: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IKBL2ZS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3rT6CbHY8H8QF].

It's over your budget, but as others have stated, it's risky to go cheap on a work chair you plan to use for hours at a time.

Another option if you're not looking specifically for an office style desk chair might be an upholstered Parsons dining chair or similar. They're nice and cushy, and you can find fairly basic ones at reasonable prices on Amazon, Wayfair, and sometimes at thrift and second hand stores.

u/HD_ERR0R · 1 pointr/CabaloftheBuildsmiths

Thanks for recommendation. I'm just not sure if I like bass all that much. I listen to music very little. I would use them for playing videos games (primarily FPS) and watching YouTube, hulu, and Netflix. So I'm planning on going with the The Shure SRH1540 ($499) when I save up.

All my parts should be here by Thursday.

Amazon a day later sold the video card and SSD card cheaper right after I bought those parts -_-

Also I was looking at computer chairs. Needed a 2nd option on this. I can only spend $210 on this. I know you are no chairologist expert but... I was looking at these two...

Edit:[ I'm think I'm going to be getting this one... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000Q5XTE8//ref=cm_sw_su_dp?tag=gamingacc-20

I like the way the leather ones look but it's not real leather. In the near future I'm going to be sitting at my desk for many hours everyday so I need to it last and be comfortable. Looks okay but yea. You Have any input? ]

I have a Lorell which is pretty good except for the hydraulic piston which I replaced with a larger one. The mesh is very durable and fairly comfortable.

Just looking, amazon has some cheap mesh chairs and they look to be highly rated. Seat padding looks sub-par but the flip up arms is an awesome feature.

These types are the gold standard gaming chair but they are made for a specific body type and I don't fit that mold even remotely, I'm far too tall and wide for them so I've never even wanted to try them out. This is most likely a knockoff brand. DXRacer is the one brand I've looked at, they've been around a few years.

u/pyrocrastinator · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Generally what you want in an office chair is good ergonomics and size. Most importantly you want to look for "lumbar support", this is the part of your back that gets hurt easily without good ergonomics. Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/TOPSKY-Computer-Ergonomic-Synchronous-Mechanism/dp/B06XK9JDSW/ Good luck on your search!

u/Mimical · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

For anyone who likes the idea of airflow under your booty but doesnt want to spend the money on this. (or a racing style)

Look into basic office chairs with mesh. I have one like this.

They are far, far cheaper and the open mesh is a godsend for sweaty backs and booties.

u/TheAjaxkiller · 1 pointr/buildapc

My friend has this, and i love it. Would defiantly recommend

u/caller-number-four · 1 pointr/Charlotte

Check out the Office Star chairs. You can get them at the Depot or Staples or Amazon. I got the fat-ass-master 4000 for $188.

It holds my fat-ass for 8-10 hours a day no problemoh and is quite comfortable.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LQ1URQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The thing I like about Office Star is you can call them up and get replacement parts pretty easily. The chair I just got replaced a 12 year old Office Star chair that had given up on holding me up. It was still comfortable when it died.

u/John0nly · 1 pointr/buildapc

This is a great chair, had it for 3 years now... padding and leather still in good shape.

http://www.amazon.com/Alera-Fraze-High-Back-Swivel-Leather/dp/B004C1RULU

The padding is firm though, not sure if you care (I don't). Still you'll be hard pressed to find a leather chair this cheap and this good elsewhere. If you see the 5* review on Newegg that's my review, I still stand by this chair.

Well if you're happy with it I guess that's what matters, but they do make big and tall office chairs, for example this one has excellent reviews and it's a $800 chair you can get for under $400:

u/paradigmnomad · 1 pointr/scoliosis

Gaming chairs, I've heard mixed things about. I for sure want to purchase one in the future to try them out to see if what people say is true or not.

This is the chair I own but I wish it had more padding in the seat. It's not a gaming chair obviously but I've usually good for about 4-5 hours before I need to get up. I have the back tilted a little bit as that's more comfortable with my rods but it keeps my posture in check for sure since I am still able to slouch.

It's really hard to find something without sitting down in them for a bit :\ Everything in stores was pricey or that 'executive' style which I've only heard negative things about for the back.

u/Visteck · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

> Where can you get a good gaming desk with a budget?

Ikea, or equivalent. Look for office desks, small dinning tables and such. In my experiance, computer desks are always flimsy, where as actual office/writing desks are sturdy and have enough room.

> what are some good budget gaming chairs?

Office chairs, Executive chairs. You want a chair that is designed for long sessions and proper business chairs are hard to beat. Something like this

u/ghost261 · 3 pointsr/LifeProTips

Eyeing the Staple Hyken. Thoughts on mesh? Is it comfortable enough on the seat? I've only ever had padded seats before.

u/tielknight · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Same price on Amazon as well since they matched it :D

u/Ishtar_Tiger · 13 pointsr/makeuporganization

This chair's a bit on the pricey side, but super comfy and makes my cheap makeup desk setup feel a bit more luxurious.

u/AzuraDM · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Unfortunately I don't have a good resource - I've fought this fight and found office supply and furniture stores to be worthless. I'm 6'3" and couldn't find a chair that was tall enough.

While our needs are different, I will recommend you look at this XL chair. It's an XL chair that I don't need, but has plenty of room for your butt and has a wide range of height adjustment. It's very solid, and while the foam seat isn't plush it's very durable. I've had the chair for about 6 months now and am very happy with it.

u/Hyzer__Soze · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Nah, that's not stupid at all. You've got a preference and there's nothing wrong with sticking to it. Besides, you did end up with a more reasonable setup. The Kingpin is a "money is no object" card in my opinion, where you're paying a premium for diminishing returns. The price difference between the two packages is pretty darn wide. Wide enough to buy a 1TB NVME, an oustanding keyboard with money to spare, high-end headphones, or a quality office chair (though the Mirra is what I'd recommend).

Kinda puts the price difference into perspective, doesn't it? Besides, if the next gen drops in the next 90 days you can still take advantage of their step-up program.

u/joetaff · 1 pointr/buildapc

My office has $1000 aeron chairs and these chairs

They are pretty big and comfortable and alot people prefer them to the more rigid aeron chairs due to the seat cushion.

u/jmccree · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

I'd recommend finding this at a local office store vs buying online without sitting in it, but I've had this chair for about 10 years now: http://www.amazon.com/Office-Star-WorkSmart-Professional-Ergonomic/dp/B004LQ1URQ/ It's made like a tank, and still going after many years of 8+ hr days.

I don't know which one my mate has, I'll have to ask.

This is my current one. Solidly build and definitely worth the price, even with the shortcomings I mentioned elsewhere.

u/Combatical · 9 pointsr/pcmasterrace

No, they typically peel and look like crap because of the cheap materials they are made with. Everyone I know that owns one from different companies regrets their purchase. Keep an eye out for decent ergonomic chairs at staples.

This one is a really good option at a reasonable price.

I also have this one and I love it.

u/SgtTrulyOdd · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I would say around 90 to 100 is my ABSOLUTE Max. And my current chair is just a standard like $20 desk chair from Amazon. Let me see if I can find the link.

u/josephripster · 3 pointsr/GlobalOffensiveTrade

Yeah what these two are saying, a good ergonomic office chair is 100% the way to go. As for me, I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XK9JDSW?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title , it's a Topsky Mesh computer chair, it's nothing luxury, but a solid choice if you're on a budget, and it's lasted me a while, can't say I've ever been uncomfortable sitting in it. The gaming racer chairs aren't awful, but they're usually way overpriced for what they're giving you, which is mostly just aesthetic.
