Reddit mentions: The best humorous poetry books

Maybe no one will see this, but that's okay. Apparently they can do the free book promotion right through the book's Amazon page; The Shardbook will be free to download digitally as the Kindle version between Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6.

Make sure to give an honest review, even if you say it's bad, ha... Hope everyone enjoys it though, that would be ideal!

I wouldn't want to copy it for poetry but I'm fascinated by the whole cover business--it's an art, of course, but a nakedly commercial one which I find fascinating.

I think poetry covers are often so dreadful because poetry's so damnably non-commercial (a fault that is spread thickly but has a lot to do with us poets ourselves) that folks think they can slap any old crap on there and go with it.

Anyway, here are the covers I was talking about.

Just more talking than wanting to copy your style, really. I enjoy seeing your success as a self-published author and have even given the "Write an erotic book" challenge to many of my friends.

I'm a girl, I have insight x) don't give her a DVD, this is my first advice. DVDs get old and you watch it once and never again.

I just realized this is a portuguese store. my bad. If you can find in your country something like this, you're good to go. Be careful, not too childish. Cute/girly is different from childish!

Now I don't know how much you want to spend, that's why jewellery is tricky. If you can afford a watch, watches are good with anything.

Ah, just yesterday I found this crazy creepy game.
If you wanna go something simple, this is very fun, not very long, that type of jumpscare game you can play with her.


And finally, this is a really cute/weird/dark little book from Tim Burton (the guy from the Nightmare before Christmas and such...)

To help with my rhyming, I purchased a few Rhyming Dictionaries. This helps overcome writer's block when writing or finishing up lyrics. It opens up a whole world of words that can be used. On Amazon, I have bought these two: The New Comprehensive American Rhyming Dictionary & Hip-Hop Rhyming Dictionary. The best thing, is that the more you use it, the more lyrical rhymes you think of.

Yep. That's really quite a big issue, and several of the most prominent books seem to be from that strand of thought. In fact, one of the most recommended books, The Tao of Pooh, follows in this tradition. I also feel it doesn't help that there's such books as The Tao of Meow and the like.

I would love a subreddit where shit like that, claiming that House of Leaves(of all things) is pretentious would not be allowed

People like that should read stuff like "Broetry" and stay out of serious discussions about other books
