I have a pair of Shure SE535 headphones that many musicians use as stage monitors and the clear shells look like what most security guys wear, I constantly get asked if I am working at events and easily move through the crowd, though I am in good shape also and look like I actually am working the event.

Get a pair of these blank Shure shells

https://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Repair-Earphone-Housing-Shell-Cover-for-Shure-SE215-SE315-SE535/202350301052?hash=item2f1d048f7c:g:BCAAAOSwbShbMEah:rk:6:pf:&var=502330590628

Now get a Shure cable like this, these are worn over your ears and you clip the two cables together behind your neck

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PS-Headphones-Upgrade-Cable-Cord-Wire-for-Shure-SE215-SE535-SE846-SE315-UE900/272566133801?hash=item3f76352429:g:2gwAAOSwOgdYrnuN:rk:7:pf:

With your blank shells and the cable you will now be wearing something like this

http://lghttp.48226.nexcesscdn.net/801FC5A/magentocdn/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/img_0161.jpg

Now walk like you own it and wear black, when moving through crowds just politely touch a shoulder or back and point towards the front of the stage or wherever you want to go, don't smile and don't say thanks just keep moving and look serious like you are trying to make it to a section of the crowd or venue, you'll be amazed and can thank me later ;-) If you are skinny and wearing a loose shirt or a rock shirt this probably won't work, having a bit of size and filling out a shirt will go a long way! Not being hammered is another good thing, you need to look serious!

I'm telling you how to do this on the cheap, real Shure SE535 aren't cheap but they have that *look* and as well custom molded ear protection work the same if you own them, loop them over your ears and clip the cord to the back of your Tshirt with a alligator clip like this and run the cord down inside your shirt so you basically look like undercover crowd security, trust me many events use security not wearing "Event staff" shirts and its more like enforcers with headseats rolling through the crowd, trust me many shows have them.

People assume its connected to a radio, trust me I get asked all the time for directions at events or other weird stuff, good luck!

A thing to add to your wishlist: I have a feeling you like Totoro, so this lanyard!

A show to watch on Netflix: Have you watched Firefly? It's great. It doesn't take long to get through, but it's definitely worth seeing! It's a sci-fi with an almost western twist. Pretty great. If you've already seen that, there's House, Bob's Burgers, Arrested Development, or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

A new band: Ever heard of Say Anything? They're an alternative rock band. They're amazing. They have a flair for making songs that sound generally upbeat but have angry lyrics.

A new book: I love graphic novels. Have you read any? If not, you should! And you could start with Watchmen. You may have heard of it. It's pretty popular and a movie was made in 2009. The novel chronicles the fall from grace of a group of super-heroes plagued by all-too-human failings. Along the way, the concept of the super-hero is dissected as the heroes are stalked by an unknown assassin.

Thanks for the contest!

I'll second or third a pulse oximeter. Maybe get a couple, because they will be lost at some point. Hospitals usually have them as well, but they tend to be bigger and bulkier and don't really fit into pockets nicely. It's nice to have your own (write your name/number on it in permanent marker!). Also a gift card for scrubs is a great idea.

A badge lanyard:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UE1QGGC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Lola-Lung-Retractable-Respiratory-Specialist/dp/B00KIOY5EU/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1466862284&sr=1-1&keywords=lola+lung

Badge ID pocket reference cards, they have tons of different ones and you can get them either vertical or horizontally: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009BE9BCY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Rapid-ID-Obstructive-Restrictive-Horizontal/dp/B00N33A8P8/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1_a_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1466863446&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=abg+badge+id+card+pocket+reference

Also blank ones (you can use a dry erase marker or ballpoint pen and reuse - might be helpful to jot notes or keep codes for various rooms handy): https://www.amazon.com/Blank-Plastic-Horizontal-Pocket-Reference/dp/B00BNYK05M/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1466863602&sr=8-1&keywords=blank+badge+id+card+pocket+reference

Or maybe just a pocket guide: https://www.amazon.com/Respiratory-Notes-Therapists-Pocket-Daviss/dp/0803629222/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1466865465&sr=8-4&keywords=respiratory+therapist

A lot of people where I work use these things: https://www.amazon.com/Mitten-Medical-Professional-Stethoscope-Scrub-Lock/dp/B0187VBMY6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1466863731&sr=8-2&keywords=respiratory+therapist+accessories

If you buy a pricey stethoscope, I would advise you to spend $10-15 extra and have it engraved. Nice things have a way of "disappearing" if misplaced. You can also buy something like this, but keep in mind they are removeable: https://www.amazon.com/Littmann-L2170-Adults-Stethoscope-Black/dp/B000SKF9VW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466864605&sr=8-1&keywords=stethoscope+name+tag

There are also novelty gifts like:
http://www.visualanatomy.com/shop/default.aspx
https://www.amazon.com/Super-Respiratory-Therapist-Shirt-Large/dp/B01EPEX1X4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466865465&sr=8-1&keywords=respiratory+therapist
Also novelty coffee cups, pens, markers, lunchboxes, and jewelry.

Also, a student can never have too much practice for the boards, and the earlier you start preparing the better. This is just one of many, many practice guides: https://www.amazon.com/Comprehensive-Respiratory-Therapist-Exam-Review/dp/0323067018/ref=sr_1_49?ie=UTF8&qid=1466865661&sr=8-49&keywords=respiratory+therapist

Other thoughts: maybe a subscription to Audible.com - there are TONS of respiratory books available. They might not have time to read additional books on top of required reading for school, but anyone can listen to an audiobook while driving, running errands.

Please check the subreddit if the question has been answered already!

This is probably the most asked question on this subreddit. The easiest way to get usps 228's is to trade with people from the United states if you want the classic USPS 228 labels. Or you could simply purchase blanks as they are almost available in every stationary shop or office depo, Sometimes they all called "name badges" Websites such as graffcity, amazon and ebay all offer a wide range of blanks. Here are some blanks graffcity offer: https://www.graff-city.com/product_info.php?products_id=3288 I believe in Germany you can get stickers from both UPS and DHL (thermals) here's a video that may be useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN7MRzt1krY

Try taking a look at some "name labels" or "name badges" they can often have some pretty interesting designs and they hold up okay in the street depending on the material they are made out of and how sticky they are. Take a look here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_16?url=search-alias%3Doffice-products&field-keywords=hello+my+name+is+stickers&sprefix=hello+my+name+is+stickers%2Coffice-products%2C392&rh=n%3A1064954%2Ck%3Ahello+my+name+is+stickers and http://www.amazon.com/C-Line-Pressure-Sensitive-Badges-92265/dp/B009R5Y4LA/ref=sr_1_3?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1460602964&sr=1-3&keywords=c+line+labels You could also try looking at thermal stickers as they are made from a waterproof material. I however would recommend eggshell stickers: http://www.eggshellstickers.com/#!blanks/cjdh They are SUPER sticky and will stick to ALL surfaces. Once applied they are impossible to remove as they are made from a special material called destructible vinyl which is delicate and will break into tiny pieces when trying to be removed. I hope I helped and answered all of your questions

A lot of them probably won't arrive by Christmas. The only place I think of getting them is Amazon, but most of the stuff there is Chance and Jack because they were super widely marketed.

Found these -

Chance Lanyard

Jack Lanyard

Jack Tumblr

Jack Mug

Jack Funko 1 and Jack Funko 2

Those are all Amazon so it's possible they'll get there in time ( maybe? ).

Also there is a TON on ebay

If you know anyone that works in Universal Orlando, the UStop inside normally has some merch for cheap until it runs out. Given how much merch they had this year there should be plenty, as well.

If you go into the Prop Shop on Hollywood Blvd at UO they have signs and stuff from HHN as well as props. They have a full scale Chance mannequin and props from shows and houses.

Hope that helps! :)

nice job on the cards :P

A few suggestions!

-Retractable ID holder

-heavy duty ID / card holder

(so easy to wipe clean AND store both a debit or credit card and ID badge)

-A mini sharpie or dry erase marker (to attach to ID holder)

If you haven't yet purchased the hand sanitizer - I wouldn't do it. Facilities have SO MUCH hand sanitizer; on the nurse carts, in the patient rooms, and at intervals on walls throughout hallways. My current clinical instructors also hate when i carry personal hand sanitizer because a) i always have the scented ones to which some people are sensitive and b) i keep them in pockets below waist-level, which is considered "unclean."

Adorable, sweet idea!

u/benlucky13 · 29 pointsr/ActLikeYouBelong

never done anything like this myself, but i have some ideas to get around the hologram. works best if it's just 1 small hologram.

whether it's a hanging placard or a window sticker it's the same general idea. buy some holographic stickers and use an exacto knife or whatever you can to cut out a shape vaguely resembling the logo needed. the general shape is the important part, not the fine details.

now make it look like it's a piece of shit. peel back the hologram section of a window sticker and muck up your window where it would've been so it looks like the adhesive is crap, and obscures the hologram portion of the sticker.

if it's a placard they'll almost always have a thin plastic film over it that has the hologram. use a screen protector to imitate this. now do the same thing as the window sticker, and peel back the portion of the film that would be on the hologram, and be sure to get just enough dust and grime in the adhesive so it's murky.

be sure to borrow a friends so you can measure the sizes and proportions as closely as possible.

best of luck!

I'm looking at badge holders and lanyards, and decided on a retractable lanyard/reel, but when looking at the actual badge holders I have questions!

I could go with the basic plastic pouch, but it seems like taking it out and putting it back in would be kinda a hassle, so I found these.

Do Norwegian key cards have a magnetic swipe on the back, or would these 'half' badge holders work well to leave the barcode/insert side of the key card free? I looked for images of the NCL key cards, but I only ever see the fronts. Is that a good indication that nothing of interest is on the back? Would my little 'half' holder be enough to leave the insert-able end free without having to remove the card from the holder?

Thanks!

I LOVE SHARKS TOO!! I love your badge reel. :)

I had a lengthy process of deciding which shark related badge reel to get and settled on this one a few months ago. Came super cute from an etsy looking seller, all bundled up in a silk bag with an Andes mint chocolate. I've gotten so many compliments on it.

>It's like they're stepping on eggshells to retain the largest VR audience possible.

I dunno, they've always been good about reviewing new HMD versions. They always say how excited they are, but never hesitate to list what issues still persist. As reviewers go, they're pretty balanced. True, they do avoid playing into the whole "X is better and people should only but it" arguments, but with products so similar, and yet which have reasonable different pros and cons (instant gratification VS delayed presumably increased gratification), I don't think taking the stance that both are so close, it comes down what you want and what you're willing to wait for is such a bad thing.

As for tracking on Touch, I'd imagine the answer to most problems would be "throw more cameras at it." Two, from all we've seen, should be enough for more stuff, but I hope they give you the option to buy a 3rd, or even a 4th, so you could have even something crazy like a 20ftx20ft room with cameras in all 4 corners, maybe 2 at ground level and 2 at ceiling level.

Cable extensions concern me far more, because while I do have a few ideas for how to solve cable management (specifically a system of several dog leashes or retractable badge holders each holding a 3-5ft length of cable with only a little more force than it takes to hold the cable up), having enough cable to run from a physically secure PC (outside play area), up a wall, across the ceiling, through the cable management contraption, and to the user, with the user length + management system length allowing travel of at least 14ft or so (assuming a 15ftx15ft square room, in case they put their head in the lower corner of the room, since it'll be bound to happen sometime). We're talking probably 30ft of cable at that point, well beyond what either system supplies, so I am concerned about low-weight no-lag cable extensions.

u/frogger97 · 1 pointr/ElectricSkateboarding

L O L. I’ve been using this and it’s been working perfectly. Definitely still overpriced, but seems well built, and will hopefully last a while.

u/CourtingEvil · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
  1. Fancy TV that you can save a whole $53/year in energy!

  2. Overly fancy tissue box. It isn't over $10,000 until you factor in the $5 shipping (so convenient!)

  3. A definitely not overpriced item

    Over 10K? Fancy!
u/JJMcGee83 · 2 pointsr/flashlight

Those retractable key ring things suck and break easily. If you want something that will last a while get a Key Bak

Better quality string and better retraction mechanism. Claims it will pull 4 oz so good for any light op would need.

u/I_logged_in_4_this · 4 pointsr/gastricsleeve

You can carry a card in your wallet that explains your situation and let's you order from the kids menu or great idea a side dish like you suggested! My nurse gave me one.

Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) Card - Bariatric Surgery Wallet Card (WLS-108) (RED) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WW3N2JL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9a3mDb3RBYAVE

u/cmagnuson · 1 pointr/boostedboards

If you're going to buy a badge holder, I highly recommend Key-Bak. They make extremely durable badge holders, unlike all the others that only last about a year before falling apart. They're available on Amazon too if you want it in two days.

u/_hester_ · 1 pointr/knives

Following on with what /u/Kromulent mentioned. These are cheap:

u/TexasDex · 1 pointr/CysticFibrosis

I kinda want to get one of those retracting badge holders (like this ) and rig that to hold my neb up. I've used them for holding headphone cords or neb tubes out of the way, but I haven't tried it on the neb itself, so I can't say for sure how well it'll work.

u/mellow12 · 20 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I bought these.

Badge reel

3 Card Holder

I use my own Lanyard rather the one that came with the badge holder. I just clip the reel to my Lanyard and put the badge holder on the reel.

u/SonovaBichStoleMyPie · 1 pointr/oculus

Just get one of these bad boys and a ceiling hook. No more dragging and MUCH less likely to tangle as you move since it retracts when you give it slack but is too weak to pull on you in any noticeable way.
