Water fountains are probably the best bang for the buck when it comes to white noise. Homes along freeways often use them. I'm going to assume no. I looked at some aquarium pumps as well because they specifically stated that they would work in salt water applications. But after mixing the 10% solution it wasn't thick at all and I imagine most of parts in this unit are plastic, so they won't have corrosion issues. It might be a good idea to flush it with fresh water after use anyway. But I'll test it out this weekend and maybe make a post about it.
EDIT: This one says its good for salt water, and it does 200 GPH. More money though.

Thanks. The fountain uses a small fountain pump like this that sits inside the skull where the liquid is. I cut a hole inside the back of the skull and fed the tube out the back and through back bottom of the rat and out its mouth. I cut another hole for the power cord to go out as well but away from the tube caring the liquid.
Edit: The "blood" looked more red and less muddy after mixing in some more juice.
