I actually didn't tally up the cost as that wasn't really of a concern to me, but I'll try my best to provide links to the things I bought for this. Feel free to add it up for me!
I also bought various tools, like crimpers, Dremel kit, drill, etc, but I don't consider those to be project-specific as I'll have them for the foreseeable future. Let me know if there's anything you see that you think I missed!
I built it so long ago that I don't remember the exact parts, but it was pretty simple.
They key thing I did was use hard boiled egg holders to hold the touch controllers. Basically you drop the bottom of your touch controller into this holder, then wrap your hand around the egg holder itself. Holding both the controller in the holder, and the holder itself.
The PVC parts are just 1' PVC pipe with a pair of PVC 90 degree elbows. You'll need something to cut the PVC pipe, a hacksaw works well, I used a dremel, or you can pickup a pipe cutter while you're on amazon
I also used one small piece of 3/4 inch PVC pipe wrapped in duct tape to hold the AR-15 stock onto the end. This is a luxury, but as someone who shoots real guns a lot, having a real gun stock on the end of it really makes a difference to your cheek weld.. So if you want dat real AR feel, you can pickup an AR stock right here.. All you need is the plastic stock, the tube and all the other stuff isn't required. I just warpped the 3/4 inch PVC pip in tape until it fit VERY snuggly into one of the 1" PVC elbows. I left it about 6" long, so that the rreal AR-15 stock would slide over it. I used a bunch fo tape around the 3/4" PVC pipe until the AR-15 stock very snuggly.
You will also need some 5 minute epoxy, and I used some instamorph. I used the epoxy to glue the egg holders onto the PVC pipe, and then wrapped the bases in electrical tape. Make sure you scuff up the PVC pipe before putting the epoxy on. I used a knife to scratch it up, and then some snad paper to really rough it up. This helps the epoxy hold.
I wrapped the base of my touch controllers in plastic wrap, then I heated up the instamorph and placed a bunch of it in the egg holder. Then I pushed the touch controller into the egg holder, so that the instamorph took the shape of the touch controller. DO NOT use epoxy for this.
After that, all you need to do is cut your PVC pipe to length and put the 90 degree elbows on there. The AR 15 stock is optional, not required.
I also recommend a sling, so that you can pop your hands in and out of your stock as need be. When your done with the stock, it'll just hold on the sling. And old cheapy rifle sling will work.

That is the blade size. It goes down into the hilt. The hilt has a detachable bottom. Inside the bottom is about 2 inches of usable space that is a great deal wider (in diameter) than the blade obviously.
I can send you some pics when I'm off work later today.
The plan though is to have the LED bulb and optic inside of the blade itself with the battery in the very bottom of the detachable part.
Ideally I want to be able to twist the bottom so that the battery makes full contact and then turns the LED on.
Theres a really cool device i was able to see a demonstration of two years ago at a plumbing convention hosted by PHCC, they had a half inch copper pipe drilled like Swiss cheese and it worked wonders. Heres an amazon link.
There was also a rep from uponor with an outrageous 3 inch pex a and yea that shit took forever to expand. A really fun experience i felt like i was in a toy store.

I'm not an expert on this at all, but I'll share my experience - I use some flexible rubber fuel hose for the last 8 inches to my stove, but that was only because I was trying to connect unusual sizes of pipe and it was the only thing I could find. It's lasted a full year, but I think I would want most of my line to be something more solid to help withstand all the vibrations and rubbing it might be doing on whatever is next to it.
If I do another build, I want try this pex style plastic gas pipe, (but I'm assuming it's as easy to work with as pex, I'm not sure what the fittings are like and haven't done any research yet.).
All I know is copper was a pain in the ass for a first timer - Every single joint I made leaked the first time, so check all of your connections carefully for leaks with a dish soap mixture, regardless of what pipe you use!
Sorry I was on my phone before. let me see what i can find. I can't find the exact coupler I used but I might be able to find something else with some searching
ed: you're in luck, found a two step way using items available on amazon that connects to the 1/4" flare you originally tried to shove the hose directly onto. when i got my oven in, i needed it working THAT DAY, and the local hvac supply place didn't have 1/4" flare swivel couplers in stock.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006PKL6Z2/ref=biss_dp_t_asn
You may also want a hose clamp or two to go with that
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tie-33200-4-Inch-5-Stainless/dp/B006IOZ3YU/ref=sr_1_1?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1419742116&sr=1-1&keywords=1%2F4%22+hose+clamp
when i did it locally, i found a 1/2" Flare to 1/2" NPT swivel, and had to get some teflon tape and put a 1/2" NPT x 1/4" barb on it instead.
Buy this and this for a better experience with this smoker. Masterbuilt will say they don't recommend using pellets in it but I've had zero issues over the past year and a half I've used it. Bonus is you can also cold smoke cheese and hard boiled eggs with it. Here's a photo of my set up when I first got it.
the magnets and the pipe.
Looks like a good way to spend your day!
You could use this coolant hose as the spine and design the dragon parts around it: https://www.amazon.com/10PCS-Nozzle-Flexible-Coolant-Orange/dp/B00UBYS95I/
It stiff, flexible, and easy to join into needed length. Available in many size to choose too.
> MP Mini SLA This is the one I am leaning most heavily toward but my concerns are: Is it really SLA? As it seems to be just a rebrand of the D7 which I thought was DLP. Also I see that it as well as the D7 has to have a computer plugged in constantly to run it. Are most people just using a raspberry pi with octopi to do this?
> Wanhai D7 v1.5 Same concern as the MP Mini sla in regards to the controller as well as it has a smaller build volume. Did not know if there was something I was missing that made this superior to the MP Mini SLA.
The MP SLA is a rebranded Wanhao D7. They both are DLP printers as opposed to lasers. Think of DLP as a type of SLA printer. Other types, such as the Nobel 1.0a or Maoi use a laser to cure.
There are three options for printing. Tethered to a PC, buying the D7 control box, or using Nano DLP with a Raspberry Pi. I am currently printing tethered, but will probably go with Nano DLP eventually.
As for comparison to the Photon, from what I have read it is easier to level the build platform and it has a built in carbon filter. It also has a viewing window so you can see your print as it goes. There is a mod out on Thingiverse to install a carbon filter on a D7
and you can buy a cover for it with a viewing window if you want one.Seems the modded lids with a window are no longer being sold, but you can make one if you are willing/able.edit: Added reference links and corrected spelling.
This what I'm using right now: https://www.amazon.com/Speedi-Products-EX-AFC-396-Diameter-Aluminum/dp/B0085KZMAA/ref=sr_1_4?crid=IQT3SUZKLKAF&keywords=speedi+products+3+inch&qid=1557442068&s=gateway&sprefix=Speedi+products%2Caps%2C206&sr=8-4
I don't have it clamped, it just slips on the cold smoker and loosely shoved into the smoker via the chip loader. It leaks a little bit but nothing big. I'm doing it this way because it's easy to break down and put I'm the shed. I'm moving soon and I'll do a more permanent setup then.
It looks like pipe insulation. You can repair or replace it.
In is either one of these two.
Pipe Insulation Inexpensive
Pipe Insulation - a little more money
For those looking to make their own:

You sir, are correct. for others, here is a picture of what he's talking about http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LVP838/
this is an example of what I used
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KGL6XMW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_L2TJDbWMW2SS7
I used something like this for your same problem. Although it was originally in the plumbing section of Home Depot, not designed for dust collection. Still works though.
Just a 10-15mm wooden pipe, I'm making a small model and this one will have interchangeable parts so if I could attach a metal hollow thread to each end I could just screw them in together when needed.
Edit: would need to be as thin as possible so it sticks out as little as possible. Would something like this be able to screw into its self if i cut it in half:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oatey-822-1-Dearborn-Extension-Threaded/dp/B00E1CA9PE/ref=sr_1_28?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1549454314&sr=1-28&keywords=threaded+tube
