When you buy tubes, check out your filling nozzles. If you have a tiny nozzle, you'll be there all day to fill it up. You'll be there all day to let out the air. I like the high volume manual air pump. The trick to inflating quickly is multiple pumps. (https://www.amazon.com/WEIFA-Mattress-Universal-Inflatables-Plastic/dp/B07FNRRYG8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=high+volume+air+pump+inflatables+manual&qid=1564660874&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1)
Get the biggest nozzle possible. It's worth an extra $ for quick release. Girls tend to like tubes with a solid bottom. Boys tend to like open bottom tubes. A solid bottom tube works great for a spare and for cooler transport.
Sunscreen...sunscreen...sunscreen.
We've been twice this year. We'll go again as the nights cool a bit more. There seemed to be more limbs and trees this year or maybe water was lower. I got scraped and bruised up pretty good both times. Be careful of underwater hazards.
I'll expand on that. I bought a cheap mattress inflator from a Goodwill for $1. It's super effective at blowing dust out if little cracks. I walk around the shop with a brush in one hand, and the blower in the other hand. Its much faster than with the brush alone. https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Air-Beds-Electrical-110-125v/dp/B003LIKRKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485376617&sr=8-1&keywords=Bed+inflator
Get 2 Coleman Sundome 4 person tents ($42 on Amazon), or one Coleman Sundome 6 person tent ($90). You should also invest in an EZ up (AKA pop up) canopy. Slant leg 10x10 ozark trail canopy is like $45 at walmart.com right now.
For beds, unless you;re trying to invest in something that you'll use over and over again after Firefly, just get some air mattresses. You're going to be on grass so an air mattress should last you through the weekend fine and be comfortable enough.
Coleman queen size air mattress ($23 on amazon) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0BPG26/ref=sspa_dk_hqp_detail_aax_0?th=1&psc=1
Etekcity rechargeable air pump ($26 on amazon) https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Electric-Rechargeable-Quick-Fill-Inflatables/dp/B07CTF8TS8/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=air+mattress+rechargable&qid=1556044876&s=gateway&sr=8-3
If you really want cots, I suggest these as they're light but comfortable - Byer Allagash cot (2 for $111 on Amazon) https://www.amazon.com/BYER-MAINE-Allagash-Lightweight-250lbs/dp/B07KJKDB5N/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=byer+allagash&qid=1556045223&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmrnull
Otherwise the cheapest cot you'll find will probably be the Coleman ones which are about $35 each on Amazon. But they're bulky and heavy.
NOTE: This post is a follow-up to CO₂ Scrubber Test. If you haven't read that thread yet, please do so before asking questions here.

After my initial success in the first test, I re-arranged my setup so the humidifier fan would only run when the fogger kicked on, instead of pushing constant "fresh air". I hooked up the scrubber, as seen in the first test, inside the tent.

The dips you see in the graph are when the fan/humidifier kicked on and flushed out some of the still air. Clearly, this design cannot keep up with the CO₂ production of the mushrooms. I tried adding second air pump and let it run for an hour, but it made no appreciable difference.

I think I'll need to build some kind of canister with a much more powerful air pump attached. Perhaps something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Quick-fill-Portable-Inflator-Inflatable/dp/B074KH38RD

In the meantime, I'm also working on ideas to lower the ambient CO₂ level in the room, including building algae scrubbers. This unit will be for small-scale testing, and if effective I can size up to much larger ones. They're also a simple concept: water, fertilizer, algae and sunlight, with forced air exchange to make up for the limited surface area and to keep the algae in suspension. I hope to have some results from this soon, but I need to wait for the algae to grow in.

Stay tuned!
Magic Air Pump. They are expensive but as someone who has to blow up and suck down a dozen fenders that hold 1000-3000+ litres of air multiple times a day, they are freaking awesome. We also have a three story slide and two pumps make short work of it.
They can pump a lot of volume but can put out a lot of pressure as well and are pretty bulletproof.

They are awesome. We have 5 on the boat stashed all over the place.
That thing's pretty expensive. You can get a simple Air Mattress Pump for much cheaper and it works great. Even has attachments. It's what I use.
Sure! I can’t seem to find the vendor we purchased from last year, so this one is not as cheap. But this is the same model we bought! It has low ratings but I think that’s just people who didn’t read the dims and expected something bigger, because we had no problems at all! 👌🏻 (You can find bigger ones if you have longer legs, but we needed something smaller to fit in our tiny tent!)
Bestway Multi-max Air Couch with Sidewinder Ac Air Pump https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015XNW9E8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nJqVAbPEWZ7VK
Vacuuming is safe, however this is the superior method.
http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Air-Beds-Electrical-110-125v/dp/B003LIKRKQ
A bed pump is overkill and gets the dust out in seconds.
Something like this might work??. Might look for one with a longer hose though.
Maybe a better option?

That's going to burn out within a few hours.
Algae will probably not be very good.
A two liter of algae might remove 24 pounds of CO2 a year.
Fresh air exchange with a heat exchanger will probably be your only option.

An air mattress blower works great also.

I can't relate at all. My gf never takes this long. I got a new 120v air pump off amazon and she is ready to go in a few minutes.
Something like this that has a suck setting.
Coleman QuickPump 4D Battery Pump https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LZ5NA1U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ROMwzbMADVB6J
For pillows and blankets I just stick them in a garbage bag then roll them and tie offf the bag before I let it go. Works pretty well. Basically, just squeeze the air out while it's inside a bag then seal it.
Edit: but if you have to use a pump, why not just use an air mattress. And if you have an air mattress, why do you need a portable bed frame? Critters??
I bought this because it said it was powered by lithium batteries, and the shape makes me think maybe 18650s? All the other rechargeable ones said they were NiMH batteries and I didn't really want to mess with that since my usage pattern would probably degrade those cells pretty quickly.
I just ordered today, so I have no input on how well it works, but if it dies, I'll probably try to pull it apart and see if the batteries could be replaced with fresh ones...
The technology is similar, but I’d say that they’re in different leagues in terms of performance. I found this air mattress pump on Amazon listed as one of the most popular. According to the specifications, it puts out 21.2 CFM of air. The spec page for the datavac indicates that it pushes 70 CFM of air.
