wow thx <3 <3 <3

But honestly, literally anyone can be attractive. If that's a major roadblock for you to improve your social skills, do soemthing about it; give yourself a makeover! Following is subjective, I guess, but..

Get a good haircut. 90% of the time, that just means "short on the sides, longer on top". LookAfter on green is really good. You could probably just be like "yo hook me up" and they can give you something trendy. Put this in your hair. Shower in the morning, and blowdry it instead of letting it air dry.

Revamp your wardrobe. Get tighter clothes. A pair of these will get you far. If you can button them without causing lots of physical pain to yourself, they aren't too tight (and they will stretch). Try to avoid washing jeans in the washing machine. If you do, air dry them. If your jeans fit well, chances are they won't after you run them through the dryer.

Stay away from gym shoes. A pair of black and a pair of white vans will take you a long way.

Stay away from overusing graphic tees. Grey is a great colour that looks good on everyone. Black and other dark colours are good too. Sweatshirts usually look p good as long as they are a tight fit. Henleys are easy and lit too.

Stay away from cargo shorts. Tight, coloured, mid-thigh shorts are "in" and look better. Looser but still short & thin neutral-coloured shorts are ez too. Especially for spring/summer.

Most of the stuff from Express, H&M, Zara, sometimes A&F, etc. is good.

Qt, bold briefs/boxer briefs from calvin klein, aussiebum, etc. are lit too. People won't often see them, obviously, but it's an easy confidence boost.

Don't discount the importance of being confident. Milo Yiannopoulos isn't actually that attractive, but he is 110% confident, so he tricks you into adding like 4 points. Fix your posture. Sit up straight, stand up straight w/ your shoulders back. Your body will feel better, and you will come off much more confident. Body language is important. The same is true about smiling more, etc.

Take care of your teeth. Crest Whitestrips can save your life if you are a soda/coffee drinker. Floss twice a day, maybe get a tongue brush.

Keep your body hair under control with one of these and a decent razer. Another thing that people only will see if you wear like a real deep v-neck or unbuttoned Henley or when you are sexing, but a confidence booster nonetheless.

Keep your hygiene up to par. Shower often, wash thoroughly (a loofah or washcloth is a good investment) with some kind of good-smelling body wash, wear deodorant, and get some kind of cologne that isn't axe (one of the < $30 ones from Amazon is fine). Also, idk why straight boys often don't wash their butthole, but wash your butthole.

Take care of your skin. This will save your life. If you have acne and that doesn't work well enough, invest in a proactiv subscription or something. You will look and feel much better. Don't be afraid of concealer to cover up some particularly egregious blemishes. Idk anything about makeup brands, but something like this (except that matches your skin tone) is great because it doubles as a mild acne treatment. This (or any spray product with Salicylic acid) will help immensely if you have body acne.

Get in shape. You will look and feel better! You sound like you don't have much time to go to the gym, which is fine. Muscly, skinny and toned, or super skinny are all "trendy" looks. Just avoid dad bod. Skinny can be achieved just through diet and optionally doing body weight exercises at home (crunches, pushups, etc.) or getting a pair of weights. Most importantly, make sure the fit of your clothes matches your body. All of those 3 benefit from snug fits. Dad bod "benefits" from a looser fit, but that's because your clothes are trying to hide your body shape rather than accentuate it, hence why it isn't ideal.

Before interviews/career/fairs/going on a date/whatever other important event, max all this out. Aside from looking good, you will feel good, and you will have a much easier time being confident. When talking to recruiters, especially during the interview, I find that when you feel good about yourself, nerves dissipate hardcore to the point where even when you are stuck, you don't really get that sinking feeling in your stomach. Smile and nod a lot, sell yourself with your strong, confident energy. If you seem like a fun person to work with (and look at), that can make up for a lot of your "faults".

I got all of my interviews that I got at the Expo this year wearing shorts and flip-flops (went during lunch break at work, so didn't have time to change). Just be a chill, happy, and humble dude/dudette, but own the fact that you feel good about yourself. Ppl dig that, especially when a lot of kids are in the same situation you are (ie. don't feel attractive or comfortable talking to people, or their whole life is just academics).

Edit: Oops also do your eyebrows and keep your facial hair in check.

Pants stick out the most to me.

IMO black jeans are some of the most versatile pants you can get.

I'd get a pair of those. I personally love these, but if that's too skinny/too much, I've heard great things about Levi's 511.

Next, like a lot of other people have said, a minimal white sneaker is king. For your price point, look in to Van's Sk8 Hi for a really casual/skater look, Stan Smith's in White/Blue for a more simple look (reading back over this, I realized you were in Italy - Stan Smiths are so fucking popular it's ridiculous. As are the Adidas Gazelles. Not bad options if you want to fit in, but keep in mind you'll be wearing what everyone else is wearing). Honorable mentions are the Converse Chuck Taylor II Highs and Lows. These might be hard to find on amazon.it but make sure you're getting the Converse Chuck Taylor II - they updated the sole and it's one of the most comfortable sneakers you can get. Durable and iconic as well.

You said you're in Italy, so I reckon you're not -too- worried about heavy outerwear.

Honestly, I'd skimp on the watch if I were you - it's an accessory and IMO not nearly as important as the other staples. If you do get a watch, Timex watches are fairly popular among MFA users and pretty cheap on amazon.

Polo 3 isn't actually that large. Nor is 5. Orange is a hard color to pull off though, so I'd personally avoid wearing that.

Lots of Americans dislike polos but I spent this summer in Italy and polos were super popular so just keep doing that I guess.

I will say, all of your shirts are wrinkled. Like straight up all of them. After taking your clothes out of the dryer, hang them up. Maybe buy some hangers if you don't currently own any. Hanging them up cuts the wrinkles down so much.

If the product is available in Italy, these Gildan shirts are great quality for the money. They're not amazing but you get a lot of options. There are several options there for different packages, but I'd stick to toned down options. When most people start caring about how they dress, they don't really know how to incorporate/coordinate color properly. Low-saturation is easy to coordinate. Black/blue/greys/whites/earthtones. For example, there's a deal going on for people in the U.S. right now to mix and match tops. You can see it here. I think these outfits are done really well overall, but as you can see the colors are really muted.

A large part of looking good is in the hair - your hair in the last 2 pictures looks super good. If you need product to do that, I'd use part of the $500 to get that. Keep that shit up.

Also look into cologne - Amazon is a pretty decent place to get them. I personally love Bvlgari Man Extreme and I get it through Amazon. Consider stopping by a Sephora or something and testing out colognes to find one you like - you can typically find it on Amazon for about $60 for 3 Oz.

I'd also stay away from V-necks as much as possible. Might just be me, but I really hate them.

I'd also consider no-show socks. I realize you're in Milan, so if you want to go all in on the Milan look, I'd suggest the following:

Simple, well-fitting shirts.
Black skinny jeans, pinrolled.
White sneakers - Stan Smiths and Superstars are ubiquitous in Milan.
No-show socks.

Your one suit is great. Make sure you have a dress belt that matches the shoes you wear with your suit. A suit without a belt is hard to pull off.

When shopping on amazon - be sure to avoid shit like this. Cheap, chinese made, won't look anything like the product pictures. This sums it up pretty well. Buy stuff from brands you've heard of - you've heard of them for a reason. That being said, only buy shoes from shoe companies and clothes from clothes companies. Tommy Hillfiger and Calvin Klein and the like make decent clothes but terrible, terrible shoes.

I looked through jackets on amazon.it and this was the best I could come up with - not cheap by any means, but it'll be good quality and bombers are super ubiquitous, esp in Milan. Unfortunately, it's still about $90 but jackets get expensive quickly. It would be smart to get a simple sweatshirt or hoodie. This can be layered under the bomber for a cold night. I'd stray away from a zip up hoodie, as your bomber already has the edit zipper***.

I also just remembered that Cheap Monday is super popular in Europe - This is a great option. Low vans are also good shoes to consider.

That's uhhh... all that comes to mind. It's super disorganized and I threw a lot at ya so have fun with that. Super jealous that you get to go to school in Milan. Have tons of fun dude.

1.) Blue: a classic, blue jeans. Need I say more?

2.) Summer: what says summer more than memories of being a kid and making sandcastles? Exactly .

3.) Food related: okay, so this is personal. I am Italian and no one I have ever met has this in their homes. We make our pizzas in normal ovens or just go down the street to one of the many takeaway restaurants. What is a pizza oven and why does anyone need one!

4.) Someone else: I decided to go random wishlist on this and what better way to learn something new about someone that go through their lists?! So I got /u/krispykremedonuts and her wishlists are full of amazing things. And a lot of socks. Someone get this girl some socks! I would get her socks. 😂

5.) Book: you need to read Sum: 40 tales from the afterlives. I recommend this to anyone who would listen. It's 'speculative fiction,' whatever that means, but essentially it's 40 short stories about what may happen after we die. It may sound weird, but seriously, trust me. Read the wiki page of it if you need to be convinced or the Amazon product description. It really makes you think and sticks with you!

6.) Under $1: This was hard! But I found the cutest mini-pens. One dollar, free shipping, AND adorable. BAM!

7.) Dogs: I've been considering getting this fancy brush. It's supposed to be super good for dogs with long hair!

8.) Not useful but awesome: Okay, so I have been obsessed with the idea of being able to print photos from my phone since forever. Useful? Most definitely not, awesome...HECK YES! Check this out!!!

9.) Movie: Life is Beautiful. It's about selfless love. It's beautiful and I can't speak more about it without bursting into tears. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't seen it, WATCH IT. It's incredibly beautiful and moving.

10.) Zombies: You definitely need a machete to defend yourself. This is even sharp on both sides!!!

11.) Needs and current goals: At this moment in my life, any sort of clothing would change my life because there is only so much sewing you can do before your clothes start looking very sad. BUT, since it has to do with current goals, a pair of workout leggings would really help in my workout goals! I've lost 3kg in the past 3 months! It's not a lot, but damn I'm SO happy :D :D :D

12.) Add-On item: Oh, add-ons...groans

13.) Fandom: CAW!

14.) So expensive: $11,703.38 carpet cleaner. I don't even know. But at least it has free shipping!

15.) Sharks: temporary tattoos!

16.) Good smells: I adore the smell of rosemary.

17.) Toy: I absolutely loved my jump rope. I had the red one! I got super good at it and my friends and I would jump rope together around the neighborhood like a bunch of weirdos. Such good memories though :D

18.) Writers: never underestimate the need of coffee in any job you may have.

19.) Current obsession: so it's almost summer and I am obsessing over which ankle bracelet I want. I feel naked without them. It's a problem 😂

20.) Random: this is what I got one of my last contest winners. I saw it on one of their wishlists and couldn't resist!!!

With your build, you're going to have to size up from what another person your height would wear, meaning that while a shirt may fit your shoulders/chest great, it's going to be too long or too wide at the waist. This'll certainly be true for pants and jeans as well, unfortunately. I would recommend finding clothes that taper, so that they'll fit you while staying trim.

I imagine that fitting button downs would be especially hard to find considering the stardards by which its fit is judged, but finding shirts with darts in the back could help keep the billowing of a larger shirt at bay. Maybe check out Kamakura Shirts? I know their slim fits have darts pre-sewn. Other than that, Uniqlo's slim OCBD, or even regular fit OCBD for that matter. No matter what though, to fit even just your shoulders you'll have to size up, which will mean that more than likely OTR a shirt will be too long. Gotta tailor.

For pants, Levis is great since they have so many fit options. 508 is a good place to start; it's a roomy regular fit in the thighs, but tapers to a svelte leg opening. I honestly think it's the best fit for thunderous thighs, and if you can rock 'em look better overall than slim and trim 511s and definitely better than 514s. If 508 works, Levi's also makes then in chinos. Definitely check out Uniqlos jeans as well. The 1-2% spandex in their jeans makes a WORLD of difference. If you can manage to fit in the slim straights, you're good to go.

Good luck!

Hello, I'm a fellow tenth grader who is very good with fashion, and I would love to help you!

You haven't really stated much of what you're interested in, so I'm just going to give you some basic links to help with a more preppy, mature style.

First and foremost, though, is that mop on your head. I had it, you have it, every guy has had it. It's time to let it go and cut it off. You'll thank me later.

For your tops, I recommend dropping the whole T-shirt/sweater everyday, and trying to stay away from graphic tees completely. I find that if you wear a simple pattern/solid colour shirt, you'll look a lot more clean and grown up. Not much else to be said, just see what you like, but keep it simple.

For jeans, dark denim is in style right now. Since you're a teenager like me, you'll probably want a slim fitting jean. Pac-Sun, H&M, Dockers, and Levi's have some of the best fits that you'll find for a reasonable price. If you want chinos (AKA Khakis), I recommend Dockers brand.

For shoes, since I almost exclusively wear Vans, my knowledge is limited. A general rule of thumb is to keep the sole of the shoe more on the thin side, make sure the tip of the shoe is more tapered/to a point, and the tongue of it isn't too big. Some examples are here, here, and here.

Here are some links of some of the things I mentioned, as they are a good point of reference. Another great place to look are all the sidebar links, namely the basic wardrobe.

Tops:

Old Navy Tees

Old Navy Button-Ups

H&M Tees

Forever 21 (Big selection of tops)

Bottoms:

Dockers Chinos (AKA Khakis)

Levi's 511 Denim Jeans

Pac-Sun Slim Jeans

Shoes:

Vans

Sperry's Topsiders

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask via PM or here in the comments.

Cheers!

u/Mrluigi7910 · 2 pointsr/bigmenfashionadvice

Nice. I've almost never been able to wear chinos, but I've recently become a fan of Lee.

I ordered some jeans on Amazon Prime Wardrobe and one of them was the Lee's Modern Series Extreme Motion Athletic Fit. It is definitely more stretchy and softer than raw demin, but they actually fit and were soooo comfortable.

I checked out some more of their other stuff and found some khaki pants in the Extreme Comfort range that would be great if they were just as comfortable. Some may not like the stitching at the top though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LHAJYHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_Qe58Ab5Q7K371

Not too familiar with the difference between chinos and khakis or Lee's Total Freedom vs Extreme Comfort but could be worth a look next time I need.

u/[deleted] · 13 pointsr/malefashionadvice

yo i'm fat too, here's what i do

OCBDs are great. heafty fabric that drapes nicely over the body. i recommend land's end sail rigger oxfords. classic blue and white OCBDs are great. please note land's end's oxfords have a very full fit. also, uniqlo has a wide variety of 3xl casual button downs (no OCBDs right now) that look nice.

tshirts! thicker the better. hanes beefy ts are good on a budget. darker colors are better, namely black and navy. mostly stay away from lighter colors (white is fine) as it highlights curves which is bad.

jeans: levi 501s are the best jeans I have ever worn (that come in my size). modern, but not skinny fit, comes in raw if you're looking for that. good quality for a $50 pair of jeans. i recommend Rigid STF. some people soak them in the tub, i don't. if you plan on doing that, order 1 size up in the waist and 2 sizes in the inseam.

chinos: dickies has great chinos for cheap. good colors would be khaki, navy, and grey.

pants: a few options here. land's end year round wool pants are good but higher priced if you're going to replace them quickly. costco supposedly has great gabardine wool pants but I have never handled them (only 40 bux too).

Can I just say that I appreciate you looking at the realities of your situation and facing them intelligently?

It’s just a fact that transitioning comes with medical differences and that sucks but it is what it is.

Keep being so science based and grounded, people like you are exactly what’s needed to break the cycle that you’re worried about being perpetuated!

Hopefully your Dad and friends make some necessary changes in their life.

As for pants I find that wrangler’s authentic men’s classic relaxed fit are the way to go for comfort. They end up looking like regular jeans, but they’re stretchy to a fantastic degree.

Honestly they’re so incredibly comfortable. I can’t stand starchy jeans whose only goal in life is to restrict my movement - fuck that. I’ll take freedom, comfort, and range of motion in my jeans any day.

They’ve got decent color choice, are affordable as hell, and aren’t terrible looking. You may not love them if you’re fashion forward but they’re definitely jeans that you can be active in.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07C7P53BL?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Again, they aren’t super fashionable but I’d bet money they’ll fit your calves if that’s your goal.

u/LightningShark · 1 pointr/tallfashionadvice

6'6" 180lbs current college student here. I've found dockers 11" shorts to be an amazing fit for me, you can get them from kohls for pretty cheap right now.

http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1607731/dockers-flat-front-shorts-men.jsp

In terms of t-shirts, I'm in the same boat with Old Navy. Great comfortable shirts at a very good price.

For pants, levi 511s come in 32x36L and they fit me great. I picked mine up off of amazon, quick and easy.
http://www.amazon.com/Levis-Mens-Slim-Throttle-32x32/dp/B00GB7SGSY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410141806&sr=8-1&keywords=levi+511

Those are my favorite tall items to date, and they're all pretty affordable buys.

u/ext23 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

You didn't ask for jeans, but I got my Unbranded raw denim jeans for $60 off Amazon on special. Even at $80 they are some of the best value denim available.

I also got a pair of white Sambas for like $40 which are a a great GAT hybrid that will probably never go out of style (they've been making them since the 50s). The black ones are cool AF too.

EDIT: Just realised it looks like you already spent your vouchers, lol sorry.

u/CrazyGingaKid · 1 pointr/streetwear

okay here's my opinion from top to bottom

a pack of kirkland tee's (best purchase ever imo)

http://www.costco.com/Kirkland-Signature-Men's-Crew-Neck-Tee-6-pack-White.product.100057726.html

Get a couple crewneck or hoodie sweatshirts. Reigning champ is really nice, nike club fleece small swoosh is dope, uniqlo is good, champion is awesome, gildan is eh but whatever, etc. Just plain cotton sweatshirts. Grey, navy, olive.

A jacket or two. Parkas and Bombers are classic, Alpha Industries, Carhartt WIP, Penfield and Patagonia are good brands.

Levis 511's on amazon cause they're cheaper that way

Black, Rigid Dragon and a light wash (stonewash is my personal fave)

https://www.amazon.com/Levis-Mens-Black-Stretch-32x32/dp/B000LXM2YS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479362343&sr=8-1&keywords=mens%2Blevis%2B511&th=1&psc=1

Shoes are all personal preference so I'll give you some options

Air Force 1's

Vans Old Skool/Sk8 Hi

New Balance 574

Nike SFB

Timbs

after all this, start experimenting with color, find colors that work on you (for example i look best in black, navy, grey and olive), and then buy nicer and more interesting stuff and expand your wardrobe. but for the most part, you'll be set with just those items

u/AfterC · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

The almost black, but still discernibly not black is the colour you're going for, I went ahead and pulled up a link to help you visualize.

From Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Levis-Straight-Dirty-Rigid-36x30/dp/B002DUTKP6/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1314943345&sr=1-1

"Tumbled Rigid" is the colour you're going for. If the pant is recognizably blue and not indigo, chances are it's best in a casual setting.

In terms of denim, and all clothes really, fit is the priority. So don't hesitate in trying on an absurd amount of pants before you get one you really like. Most department stores and the like will carry the colour you're looking for anyway, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Good luck man!

u/intentionalthreads · 9 pointsr/malefashionadvice

First off, congrats on getting in better shape! If you're continuing to gain or lose weight, I would advise to hold off on investing too much money on clothes until your weight and build stabilize.

As far as what your style is, the first outfit looks like dressed up casual dadwear, and the second outfit looks more college student on a budget.

The best way to improve your style is to start from the bottom up. Get yourself a good pair of sneakers and trade in that pre-distressed denim for some slim, dark denim like these Levi's 511's.

Did that answer your question?

u/jkskiier · 1 pointr/rawdenim

I was looking for a lightweight pair of denim and found these on Amazon. Looks like they were just put up, but I can't find the style, "Dry Indigo Nep" anywhere. Thoughts? It seems like a great price for N&F...

u/MyCatsNameIsBernie · 2 pointsr/rawdenim

This is good advice. Amazon has 20% off on many [N&F] (https://www.amazon.com/Naked-Famous-Denim-Mid-Rise-Tapered-Leg/dp/B00AAVHZN4/) and Unbranded, with free shipping and free returns. Sale ends tonight at 11:59PM.

u/naduse · 1 pointr/TeenFA

I want to get some nice light wash jeans for a pale fit, are these good? Any other recommendations?

u/HurricaneEli · 1 pointr/rawdenim

got these N&F a few weeks ago. They are stupid lightweight at 5oz, but the fabric seems to be quality and they feel great. Will be interesting to see if/how they fade. https://www.amazon.com/Naked-Famous-Denim-Featherweight-Selvedge/dp/B00QYF77UQ

Hey guys! I've been wondering if anyone has arrived Unbranded jeans from Amazon? I'm only asking because it could arrive so much quicker, because they're offering prime. Although, I wouldn't mind waiting if ordering the jeans from Amazon is a scam. Any feedback will help. Thank you!

Edit - whoops, nevermind. Just saw the patch.

I bought a pair of black HB Men's Biker jeans in black and love them. They don't really look like jean material. I used to wear some Lee's wrinkle free dockers to work. These don't look that much different unless you really look closely. They are not bulky like other kevlar lined jeans I've tried. They have pockets for knee and hip protection but I haven't put them in.

I bought these last week, they're totally rad.

("more like totally dad" - my wife)

Found this the other day but Amazon.com (NOT amazon.ca) sells several Levi pants that ship to Canada (or at least Ottawa for me, you can set it so Amazon lets you know right on the product page if it ships to you or not).

I personally haven't bought them myself so I don't know how much the duty is but this particular one is sold and shipped by Amazon themselves. Most of the stuff is around $32-$36.

Nah, we're talking about [these] (http://smile.amazon.com/Levis-Mens-Slim-Throttle-34x32/dp/B00GB7T6RO/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1407965294&sr=1-1&keywords=levis+511). The ones you linked looked quite a bit baggier than my pair of 511's. Shoot, they're cargo pants! haha

Not the exact same, but these should be similar.

I used mine for Dockers Alphas and then I signed up with another email and used another one for some 511s.

Gold Pan colorway looks to be what you're looking for.
