Make sure you're using unflavoured booch to start your scoby. Any added flavouring/fruit/juice will make it mold.

Here's what I use to make my SCOBY: 2 quarts water, 3/4 cups sugar, 3 tbsp of green tea, a bottle of unflavoured kombucha (this brand - pretty easy to find here in Ottawa, Canada, and a well-known brand). I covered it with a clean hand towel and secured it with a rubberband. Let it sit in the corner of my kitchen away from windows/direct sunlight. My apartment isn't air conditioned but I do my best keep it cool, so I'd guess the temp was around 25 degrees Celsius. Mine was ready to use in about 2 weeks. I posted pics from the process here.

Hopefully this helps! Don't give up, you'll get it!

HAPPY CAKE DAY!! YAAAY!

Awesome sheets? You mean like... bed sheets? I feel like I'm missing some kind of slang here. Now get off my lawn! ;)

Concord Grape Raspberry Juice from my "Help" Wishlist, or a gift card would be equally great!

Thanks for the contest!

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea what needs to be done. Water should be the only liquid going into your body other than soup or other medicines. Too much sugar in juiced. Take the indomethecin with pure organic cherry juice. This is the one I find that helps the most. Good luck. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

u/spacecowgirl · 4 pointsr/Winnipeg

I bought some in 2010 from here- http://theworldsbestfruit.com/pages/buynow.html

I thought their prices were pretty good ($15 for a jumbo box), and they will send you 1 tablet to sample for around $3 american. I think they even had a Winnipeg office at the time, but I can't find any evidence that it's still running.

http://www.miraclefruit.ca/products/miracle-fruit-tablets/ is Canadian, but seems to be out of stock.

Sage Garden will sell you the actual plant, but they are extremely finicky (EDIT: the plant, not the store owners). http://www.herbs.mb.ca/en/on-line-shopping/c378145981/miracle_fruit_lg.html

http://www.miracleberrycafe.com/buy_miracle_fruit_berry_tablets.html also sells them for slightly cheaper shipping than World's Best Fruit.

Amazon- different shipping options. http://www.amazon.ca/Miracle-Frooties-Tablets-600mg-Strength/dp/B004US0Z3K

http://www.amazon.ca/Miracle-Frooties-LIMITED-Original-5xStrength/dp/B004SI0PVY

I'd recommend eating the whole large tablet to make sure it's effective. It tastes like weird cardboard, and you have to let it slowly dissolve on your tongue and not bite or swish it around your mouth. It's kind of gross. Then for around up to 30 minutes, you will have your mind blown. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, lemon juice, goat cheese, dill pickles, sour candies, all that stuff will become nectar of the gods. Don't forget to pop a couple of Tums before you start stuffing your face with heartburn-inducing food.

I think they're only good for 2 years, but mine are around 4 years old and still work.

u/CityBarman · 2 pointsr/cocktails

If you like your margaritas with fresh lime juice, I would keep making them that way. Even freshly squeezed lime juice loses its brightness (acidity) even after 12 hours of refrigeration.

Is Pasteurized Juice a Blessing or a Curse?

If your time is too valuable to freshly squeeze your limes, Amazon does have a cold pressed, pasteurized lime juice available. Once opened, you have maybe a few days before it becomes unusable, so be prepared to drink a bunch of margaritas. I would think that most on this forum would tell you they far prefer fresh lime juice.

Good luck!

This is juice from concentrate. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't think you're going to do better on the cheap.

This is slightly more and slightly better

Oregon Fruit has aseptic pink guava puree, but probably bigger quantity than you want: https://shop.fruitforbrewing.com/

I drive down to Salem to pick up their puree in a 42lb box, since their minimum order for shipping is 2 boxes. However, some of their purees are also available in a 3 lb can. You might contact them directly to ask--they're friendly folks.

Edit: I checked their retail distributor's site, and it look like they make the guava puree in the cans, just the 42 lb boxes.

https://shop.brewcraftusa.com/aseptic-pink-guava-puree-42-lb-19-05-kg-1728-v-1

Still, it's worth contacting them to be sure.

Edit2: Well, I guess Amazon has everything (although this has added sugar):

Yeah :( she probably likes it because ginger is a favorite flavor for parrots. Ginger is actually really good for them, too! It has lots of good vitamins and helps with digestion. If you want, you can give her pieces of raw ginger, ginger powder, or a drink like this one that is uncarbonated.

> perhaps a better contract-manufacturer

Every time I see one of these posts -- which seems like every other day -- my mind shows me a picture of all the other liquid products sold daily in similar bottles, like this or this. Who ever hears of chocolate milk or OJ bottles that split, or have mold under the cap? And there's a gazillion times as many of those bottles moving around the country.

One difference is, the shipping channels are different. Nesquick etc. go in large quantities, whole pallets probably, in big trucks to grocery wholesalers' warehouses. From there they go in wholesalers' trucks to grocery stores, handled by drivers who deliver only groceries.

Just the same, somehow I think Nesquick or Tropicana and other big liquid-food-makers have a better grasp of this. It would be fascinating to hear from somebody who actually knows food packaging and shipping.

u/PapaFranzBoas · 3 pointsr/evilbuildings

I don't think they had turkey legs when I went in Summer 2011. There was a little stand near the entrance to the volcano as you walked down that sold Gyozadogs (more like Nikuman/Bao than gyoza outside). Also, this really amazing Krin Apple Tea Soda. that I wish I had gallons of.

Did they have the different popcorn flavors when you went? It was part of our mission to try them all. The Milk Tea popcorn and curry were pretty great.

u/kaidomac · 2 pointsr/RawVegan

You can absolutely do it! It doesn't necessarily need to be raw vegan, however, especially as there are a huge variety of cooked & other non-raw vegan protein sources available. So let's start with the baskets:

u/Suterusu_San · 1 pointr/bartenders

If I were to go the concentrate route, would you recommend using a cordial or something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ReaLime-100-Lime-Juice-bottles/dp/B000LLHNBC

The later to me seems more like fresh lime juice, just not.. fresh?

My only real concern with fresh limes is that I'm unsure of how many I would need

u/SnootyDrinkingRoom · 3 pointsr/cocktails

The San Pelligrino product I'm referring to has a small amount of fruit juice and is more of a natural fruit soda than a flavored sparkling water. See here: https://www.amazon.com/Sanpellegrino-Clementine-Sparkling-Fruit-Beverage/dp/B00MR336AE

The drink I had included whiskey, pine liquor, white vermouth, skinos and white bitter. They smoked pine and served the drink with a cover holding the pine smoke until presentation. They called it "I Love Boulevardier" and it is one of the best new drinks I've tried this year.

u/zanzakar · 1 pointr/vegan

I always like to keep a few of these on hand. I find they are really filling and taste great at the same time.

Amazon: Lakewood Mango Juice

u/Snowrican · 1 pointr/mead

I do and I see that too. It’s insane considering how easy it is to get elsewhere. So what I did was use passion fruit juice cocktail from Goya- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074VDVJV8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_VTzVAbGNSNYQ5. It came out great but I found Goya has a frozen fruit purée too that I would have like to try as well.

u/EDiiTzZ · 3 pointsr/StonerEngineering

I just noticed that I didn't show it correctly in the picture, but the bottles that I'm using stack onto each other perfectly once you cut the bottom off. In the past I made a bong that used two of these bottles, and my friend said I needed to create something crazy for an upcoming camping trip so I just figured why not use four?

u/HasALittleFaith · 1 pointr/Keto_Food

I have been using these drink mix packets. They use stevia and have found that one mixes well into a 1L bottle of water.

https://www.amazon.com/True-Lemon-STRAWBERRY-WILDBERRY-WATERMELON/dp/B06X1714LR/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1502470197&sr=8-6&keywords=stevia+drink+mix+packets

For me that's more than enough sweetness and one packet can get me through 2L fairly easily

u/oceanlab_09 · 1 pointr/keto

I use true lemon can buy the 9pack on amazon, tried most of them they all taste good. I use 2 packets with 1/2tsp salt 1/2 tsp half salt and half tab magnesium in a 64 oz jug.

https://www.amazon.com/True-Lemon-STRAWBERRY-WILDBERRY-WATERMELON/dp/B06X1714LR/ref=sr_1_5_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1526263094&sr=1-5&keywords=true+lemon

However it has 3g of carbs, but made from stevia too no aspartame.

u/MariaDmnd · 33 pointsr/mexico

Pero hay jugo de limón en botellas, nunca lo había visto en Mexico pero vivo en Finlandia y son muy populares.
