I wanted to add some more great finds thanks to a list I saw by /u/vtsumc1993:

16) Hormel Cooked Bacon - $22 for (72) pieces
Less than $4/pack for the equivalency of 6 packs of cooked bacon is really quite good - great find!

17) V8 juice - get your veggies! $26 for (48) cans
Get your veggies for just over 50c/can!

18) ~~Tropicana Orange Juice - $30 for 24 bottles
Not too bad, around $1.25/bottle is less than you'd pay in a cooling case by a check-out register.~~Deal is gone, now charging shipping (though price has been reduced). No longer on Prime.

19) Wheat Thins - $13 for (6) boxes
Around a couple bucks for each box is a really good deal - in my stores they're $2.50 and up.

---

And also a special shout-out to /u/fwogzilla for making me aware of this amazing deal on hash browns!

20) Golden Grill Hashbrowns - $14 for 48 servings
Also:
Golden Grill Hashbrowns - $14 for 50 servings
These get rave reviews from Redditors, so they are definitely worth a look!

Yeah :( she probably likes it because ginger is a favorite flavor for parrots. Ginger is actually really good for them, too! It has lots of good vitamins and helps with digestion. If you want, you can give her pieces of raw ginger, ginger powder, or a drink like this one that is uncarbonated.

Nice documentation of the ride! Is that Google Glass?

Regarding the cramping, that's one I'd not heard before! Gonna try it. I invested in a case of the Pickle Juice stuff and take a couple with me on long rides. I down a bottle around 40 miles in, BEFORE my legs start complaining. Today, despite the pickle juice, at about 43 miles in, I had to get off and walk for about 5 minutes. I didn't actually cramp, but my legs were right on the edge of cramping. Happened again at about 47 miles, and another short walk got me past it. I was home at 50 miles.

I signed up for a 75 mile ride next Saturday on a new section of toll road that hasn't opened to cars yet, only to be reminded by my buddy that Sunday is the 70 mile Tour de Houston we both signed up for. Argggh.

I'll probably just do 25 of the Saturday ride (it's a 25 mile loop that the 75 milers just repeat 3 times) so I won't blow my chances of a good ride on Sunday.

I'm training up for the MS 150 ride from Houston to Austin next month, which is actually 160 to 180 miles (depending on which start-point you select). This will be my 1st one. My twin brother has done 3. It's time for me to step up.

Hey, OP, thanks for the video! The work you did making it is appreciated.

In addition to the other suggestions here:

  • olives: (kalamata are my fav) come in fun little packs which are great for this. One of these cups has a whopping 744 mg sodium

  • V8 or other vegetable juice: even a little 5 ounce can has 450 mg sodium

  • Roasted chickpeas (pre-packaged): I like the Biena brand, but there are many good ones.

  • Watermelon (or other watery fruits/veg) can hold salt really well. As does sugar-free jello

Love [pickle juice](Pickle Juice Extra Strength Shots, 2.5 oz, 12 pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015TJGG9U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vUVUAbBM2Y8XK) for this.

u/ceojp · 2 pointsr/EatCheapAndHealthy

This was the one I got. Like with the tuna, though, it was direct from Amazon and it looks like it's only available from 3rd party sellers now.

Dude, aloe is delicious. Check this shit out.

Sooo fantastic. I forgot about it for a while, just bought a 12 pack. Hnnngh so excited.

Nothing wrong with V8, just make sure you get the low sodium version. I wish it had less tomatoes and more of the other ingredients though. Like this stuff:

u/MT1982 · 88 pointsr/EatCheapAndHealthy

> 2 x 46 oz V8 tomato juice = 600

As in the V8 drink? This stuff? Two containers of that is almost 8k mg of sodium. 7680 / 5 servings = 1536mg of sodium per serving. Or divided by 8 servings = 960mg per serving. That's not even counting what's in the worcestershire sauce or chicken/beef broth. Seems like a ton. I'd probably substitute it with something else - maybe the low sodium version.

Recipe sounds good though. I'd call it a beef and veggie soup instead of just veggie soup though, to avoid confusion :)

Well, we've seen them occasionally but if you are interested, Amazon has the traditional Motts Clamato. The rim spice includes celery salt, pepper, sometimes a bit of heat, all stuck on with lime. Traditional garnish is a celery stick, but much like a Bloody Mary, you can go to town with shrimps, pickles, olives, peppers, bacon, or thin pepperoni sticks.

Edit....Oh...and vodka.

It's got a 4/5 rating with ten reviews. Me t'inks that the website exaggerated a bit.

u/torontodon · 3 pointsr/london

I know you can get it on amazon prime and a pub near Edgware Road sells Caesars and you can buy clamato juice there but can't remember it's name- sorry!

It doesn't

And for reasons I'd rather not get into, going to the store is difficult for me

You can but that shit sand pickles:

I've had a swig, once, not terrible but not something I can get into.

u/makes_beer · 0 pointsr/askscience

> A 500mg pill, in a healthy human, can have disastrous effects if they already have enough in their system.

But I can buy a can of low sodium V8 with 1180mg of potassium.

Drinking these causes no issue, or Campbell's would have been sued by now.
