RAM: if you want to be safe, use slower 2133Mhz modules (The faster 2400 modules will also be used at 2133Mhz. But if you are unlucky the faster ram modules will not be detected properly).

You're not a bother at all, I'm happy to help with your setup! I do really recommend it, the mouse pad is retractable and has a slot to hold devices.

Filter coffee machines. Mine goes into a thermos and stays hot for 4 hours. And has a timer. So you can make ten cups to be ready as people arrive in the office, and when the pot is empty it takes about 10 minutes to brew a new one. Very easy to clean. Filter papers and coffee can be composted.

I would say that either XPS 13 or XPS 15 if you don't mind the basic dedicated video card on the 15. The Lenovo Yoga seems good too.

I had a surgery around 3 years ago and I was mostly on the bed too. I bought something like this and it was really good: https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Aluminum-Notebook-Computer-Ergonomic/dp/B0793N7T25/ref=pd_sbs_121_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0793N7T25&pd_rd_r=1522HQ73XY26APTFZKN3&pd_rd_w=iznbI&pd_rd_wg=HlDgu&psc=1&refRID=1522HQ73XY26APTFZKN3

Almost all of these types of trays are the same, I would recommend you to get one of the ones that have numbers on the joints and fans for the laptop.

it allowed me to keep working from bed.

I used to have a very heavy lenovo laptop and it would support them just fine.

I'm personally waiting for the Gigabyte 15x refresh but that's above your budget.

u/ChefGuru · 2 pointsr/boardgames

I'm sure that we've all seen the standard bed tables, which would probably work.

You can even get some that have tilting tops, and a drawer

I see lap desks similar to something like this in thrift stores all the time, for just a few dollars. and I've even seen some that open up, and have a storage area inside.

u/AmensiacKidA · 2 pointsr/thinkpad

I was just reading about the x250, and your feelings on the hinge design is relatively common, I believe :(. You could use something like a lapdesk perhaps? I've been eyeing this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013J7NI2W?psc=1

Thanks a ton once again though :) I'm reassured now.

I have a Zalman that I am in love with. It lowers the temp. of my 2008 asus g50-VTX from 110C (max) to 85-90C (max). It has an extra USB port to make up for the one it uses. It's only caveat for what you want is that it's a solid aluminum body (very good for cooling, aluminum dissipates heat very well) which is heavy and could get uncomfortable on a lap. I personally use it on top of a lap desk

u/butidontwanttoforum · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I think the best economical option would be something like one of these: 1 2 and pick out a monitor arm that fits your needs.

u/jmereddit958 · 1 pointr/Cooking

I haven’t yet found one larger than this- sounds like you need approximately double this width. But here’s at least an idea - good luck!

Consider hooking up your PC to your TV and game from your couch. Use a controller, and get a wireless keyboard and mouse for browsing or for when a game benefits from it (e.g.FPS games and strategy games mainly).

To use a keyboard and mouse comfortably from your couch you can get something like the Corsair Lapdog, or a cheap lapdesk, or even just a light plank of wood would suffice.

u/ThimeeX · 1 pointr/DIY

That's actually a really neat design - 120 and 240V without requiring any transformers at the client site.

I wonder if there are any code restrictions about putting a 240V circuit into a kitchen, for fancy coffee machines and electric kettles? I'd love to get an international 220/240V kettle that boils in half the time it takes the poor American ones...

Very nice, but from what I am seeing/reading (providing I found the right one) it is quite small (A5). Antique Style Wood Folding Travel Writing Lap Desk The reviews look good.

u/inkfade · 3 pointsr/fountainpens

I have this one and love it. I use the slot for the phone for my pens when I want to set them down for a moment.

You want something like this.

Adjustable Lap Desk - with 8 Adjustable Angles & Dual Cushions Laptop Stand for Car Laptop Desk, Work Table, Lap Writing Board & Drawing Desk on Sofa or Bed by HUANUO https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CY1LY89/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DMnEDbEDDXSP7

A ‘lap desk’ will have some kind of moldable bottom to fit on your lap with a hard surface on top so the laptop can breath.

u/avengedluvee · 1 pointr/ChronicPain

What kind of lap desk are you using? That'll help where to start. I personally use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P75NDMB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rIKMDb1TC55GK

Along with using a wrist support. Keeps it from slipping at all since I wrest it against the wrist pad. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006HVNI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_GOKMDbSG11JXH

u/Boysenberry_Icecream · 1 pointr/digitalnomad

Thank you! Yes I've been leaning more towards something like that too.

After a bit more searching this is the closest thing I could find, but still looks quite bulky compared to a diy plywood tray

AboveTEK Lap Desk

u/prlj · 1 pointr/synthesizers

I use two of these. Even the little side shelf is nice for an effects pedal.

u/mattreyu · 1 pointr/GoForGold

How about something like this with a separate tray for the mouse to make up for a narrower shelf?

u/KaelathSeyth · 1 pointr/laptopgaming

Take a look at this. Would work just fine in bed.

Might be a little over budget, but you could get this kettle if limescale is a massive issue

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-Hobbs-Plastic-Filter-Purity/dp/B01GFPWHZ4

The kettle itself is £30 which is in your budget only just, but it has a Brita filter in it which needs to be replaced every month. You can get knock of brand filters from Tesco 3 for £5, or on Amazon 5 for £15. Brita brand ones might add up a bit.

Also the water you boil will now be soft water. Many people prefer this but your tea won't taste exactly the same if you're used to hard.

An adjustable lap desk might be what you’re looking for. He’ll be able to rest it on his chest.

u/hellosweapea · 2 pointsr/thinkpad

What part is that 2.5" cable? Do you have a link?

Edit: Is this it?

Doesn't look that expensive.

u/Maydayparade77 · 5 pointsr/ipad

Unfortunately I cannot seem to find the white marble version however this is the rose gold marble version and it comes in many more patterns.

Here is the previous version without the cup holder.
