RAM: if you want to be safe, use slower 2133Mhz modules (The faster 2400 modules will also be used at 2133Mhz. But if you are unlucky the faster ram modules will not be detected properly).

There are 4 Slots available:

• 2x underneath the keyboard
  
• 2x at the bottom.
  
• Try to fill them in pairs to enable dual channel (so either 2 or 4 modules in total)
  
  If you want to be super safe: get the machine, figure out which ram is installed and buy exactly the same modules as preinstalled (i suggest using HWiNFO64 because it also lets you verify your battery)
  
  Edit: Don't forget to buy trays. The M2 slot needs a different tray kit as your 2,5" slot (only the slot with your preinstalled hard disc will contain the required adapter)

Filter coffee machines. Mine goes into a thermos and stays hot for 4 hours. And has a timer. So you can make ten cups to be ready as people arrive in the office, and when the pot is empty it takes about 10 minutes to brew a new one. Very easy to clean. Filter papers and coffee can be composted.

I would say that either XPS 13 or XPS 15 if you don't mind the basic dedicated video card on the 15. The Lenovo Yoga seems good too.

Almost all of these types of trays are the same, I would recommend you to get one of the ones that have numbers on the joints and fans for the laptop.

I have a Zalman that I am in love with. It lowers the temp. of my 2008 asus g50-VTX from 110C (max) to 85-90C (max). It has an extra USB port to make up for the one it uses. It's only caveat for what you want is that it's a solid aluminum body (very good for cooling, aluminum dissipates heat very well) which is heavy and could get uncomfortable on a lap. I personally use it on top of a lap desk

I think the best economical option would be something like one of these: 1 2 and pick out a monitor arm that fits your needs.

I haven’t yet found one larger than this- sounds like you need approximately double this width. But here’s at least an idea - good luck!

Consider hooking up your PC to your TV and game from your couch. Use a controller, and get a wireless keyboard and mouse for browsing or for when a game benefits from it (e.g.FPS games and strategy games mainly).

To use a keyboard and mouse comfortably from your couch you can get something like the Corsair Lapdog, or a cheap lapdesk, or even just a light plank of wood would suffice.

That's actually a really neat design - 120 and 240V without requiring any transformers at the client site.

I wonder if there are any code restrictions about putting a 240V circuit into a kitchen, for fancy coffee machines and electric kettles? I'd love to get an international 220/240V kettle that boils in half the time it takes the poor American ones...

A ‘lap desk’ will have some kind of moldable bottom to fit on your lap with a hard surface on top so the laptop can breath.

You could try a breakfast tray or tray table, but I think both might be too small to fit a keyboard (even a small one) and have enough room for your mouse. And if you go high-quality with either one, you're at the $80 Lapdog price point.

The kettle itself is £30 which is in your budget only just, but it has a Brita filter in it which needs to be replaced every month. You can get knock of brand filters from Tesco 3 for £5, or on Amazon 5 for £15. Brita brand ones might add up a bit.

Also the water you boil will now be soft water. Many people prefer this but your tea won't taste exactly the same if you're used to hard.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to find the white marble version however this is the rose gold marble version and it comes in many more patterns.
