(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best measuring spoons

• 10" cast iron skillet.
  
• 6qt pot for making pasta & larger batches of chili and soup.
  
• 2qt saucepan for making sauces/reheating soup/Mac & Cheese.
  
• Fibrox Chef's Knife
  
• Paring Knife.
  
• Cutting board. You're going to have to hand wash it, so wood is fine.
  
• Measuring spoons, maybe 2 adjustable ones if I was trying to go completely minimalist, but probably just a good set of stainless steel ones.
  
• 2c liquid measuring cup (glass so it's microwaveable).
  
• 2c adjustable Plunger measuring cup.
  
• Rubber spatula
  
• Turning spatula
  
• Set of long cooking chopsticks for flipping/stiring stuff.
  
• 9x9 or 9x13 pyrex pan.
  
• Jelly roll pan (more flexible than a flat cookie sheet)
  
• 2 Stainless Steel Mixing bowls.
  
  The big thing while cooking with smaller amounts of cookwear is to keep soapy water in the sink and wash stuff right away so it's ready to go when you need it. You don't need multiple knives: just wash it quick, wipe it dry, and use it. Same with measuring stuff (just be smart about measuring dry before wet as well)
  
  I'm also assuming that you have Plates/flatware/bowls/etc. Make sure to have enough bowls (I like Corelle ware for cheap and durable) to do your mise en place to quickly reuse the limited measuring cups.

I have a set of spoons like these and a set of cups like these.

These are without a doubt the best measuring utencils I've ever owned. The magnets in the center of the handles make them stay together when stacked and I love that the spoons have both bowls and scoops. The bowls are perfect for liquids and the scoops are great for digging out dry spices from containers.

They’re AMAZING. Very sturdy. They do make more noise than the plastic ones but they look nice out on the counter and the weight is nice.

I'm not sure how much it holds either, I couldn't find it on their site. I have this measuring spoon from Amazon, and it's been great. It adjusts from 1-5 teaspoons, which is pretty convenient when brewing big pots of tea, or fluffy tisanes that need more leaf per cup.

Like another commenter said, I would also highly recommend getting American measuring utensils
Stacking dry-measure cups should be pretty easy to find someplace like Amazon (here's one such set), and you could probably find american liquid measures there too (almost all American liquid measuring cups that i've seen have mLs on the opposite side).

Constantly converting is just such a pain in the ass. I brought a set of those stackable dry measuring cups with me when I lived in Germany for a year and anticipated making a few recipes from home.

They measure 1/32 of a teaspoon, or 100mg (I assume that is 100mg dense powder or water, 1 scoop would probably be worth 50mg nsi-189)

But using a teaspoon to measure 40mg powder is just insane, you could easily make a mistake and get 150mg instead.

I like to use a mix of stuff, simply because some things hold water, or produce steam, better than others.

• 5 gallon stock pot (cooks large amounts of pasta, potatoes, cauliflower, etc.)
  
• 4 quart steamer (great for steaming vegetables)
  
• Set of pots and pans, with lids (heat up, or cook, just about anything, and multiple things at once)

If you want a super cheap introduction into the world of pourover coffee, get a dripper and some #4 filters. I believe melitta also makes a set for ~$10 if you don't have a pot yet. This one has 3 holes so it should drain slightly faster than the 1-hole melitta.
