I've used this for a few years and like it a lot. It goes by a few different brand names, but seems to be the same unit: https://www.amazon.com/APEKX-Bluetooth-Headphones-Wireless-Hands-Free/dp/B01MUXYVOA/

I don't have any experience with Anker, but I did manage to get wireless music for $50 bucks. this + this. I found the in-helmet music to be much better quality and just less painful on my ears (earbuds pressing into your ears from the helmet hurts)

Yes, I can differentiate left from right origin sounds via stereo using my headphones in a game - I place the left speaker driver up and the right speaker driver down and I can hear the origin of left or right as up or down. If I hear the sound from the up speaker I know the sound in the game came from the left side, etc.

I had to so some additional simple mods to make my headphone have a microphone. I don't make or sell the following but this is how I adopted my 2E1 headphones for gaming and also to use with my smartphone when I am commuting to work on the NYC subway (I did not buy these just similar ones so these are for examples only):

To add a microphone for gaming first I split the signal that I plug into the wireless joystick controller 3.5mm jack:

Then attached a mic:

And for my smartphone to convert my portable 2E1 headphones that I make that can fold I use a bluetooth converter something like this:

I did my headphone project because I hated how music sounded in mono - it sounded flat to me is the best way I can describe it. Only later did I realize - let me see if I can game with this and I could! But I primarily did it to hear music in stereo again with my one ear. I do sell my headphones on ebay but I am OK with anyone from the single-side deaf community to copy of my design and make it on their own - if you can't because of lack of tools or time, etc I am happy to make it for you.

For years I've used this combo, which has the added benefit of being earplugs. Total cost about $40.

Possible work-around is to buy one of these which will turn any set of wired headphones into bluetooth.

Only thing is then that's one more device you have to charge... but at least it's something.

Hi guys, I'm looking for some cheap, simple, non-earplug-style earbuds that I can use with a bluetooth adapter.

Basically, I'm trying to McGuyver some bluetooth headphones out of a BT adapter like this and some headphones with a very short cord.

Doesn't have to be great audio quality, its mainly so I can listen to podcasts at work with a low-profile. I already have bluetooth headphones that wrap around my neck, but even those are a bit too long for me.

My ideal solution would be a single earbud with a cord just long enough to connect to the bluetooth adapter while it's clipped to my collar, or an earbud that I can plug an aux cord directly into.

I'm having no luck narrowing down search results online. It also seems impossible these days to find earbuds that aren't earplugs. I HATE earplug headphones. I just want some that simply rest in the ear.

Does anyone have suggestions that might work with this idea?

Get a Bluetooth adapter that will pair with your computer and has 3.5mm out.

I use this on my phone for using a pair of wired I have. Decent audio quality, kinda meh battery, but it'll work fine for about 12 hours I think? (Used it over several 5-hour work shifts sporadically)

It's a little on the louder side, but is alright otherwise

You can get a bluetooth headphone receiver like this https://www.amazon.com/APEKX-Bluetooth-Headphones-Wireless-Hands-Free/dp/B01MUXYVOA , still gonna be cheaper to get a new USB C audio dongle

edit: every single person replying has some niche case reason to hate these changes. You're bitching about changes that are meant to improve general consumer electronics. Those products aren't meant for you. If you can't convince yourself to ditch a tape deck, then modern electronics aren't meant for you. You're probably still bitching that you had to ditch dial-up for cable or your rabbit ears for a digital antenna.
