I've got two of these, and they're great... but I'll be closely monitoring this thread bc I've got 5 bikes in a 1 bedroom and am fresh out of ideas on what to do w/ the other three.

I love the Velo Hinge.

I have a row of 3 (soon to be 4) in my very small laundry room.

Just don't waste money on the Feedback Velo Wall Mount https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H96DA00/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EsDsDbV7J657Z I was sucked in by the marketing spiel on this one, let me tell you, what a load of crap, it actually protrudes from the wall more when using this mount than just placing it on the ground against a wall and it doesn't leave you with any more usable floor space.

comment on furniture: after trying loads of different options, I just went back to wall hooks. you just save so much more space with them, rather than any other option. Take a look at something like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H96DA00/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

that one even tilts into the wall for more space savings.

For example.

There's a lot of vertical wall mounts, but not many that pivot. This one only pivots in one direction, and getting the wheel in the hook is probably a bit trickier than with SteadyRack, just based on videos.

I'll probably end up getting 4 or 5 of these, whichever I choose, so the $60 price tag hurts.

If you're gonna drill, I can't recommend these guys enough. I use them now, but bought the free standing rack since I just got a set of carbon wheels and figure it's probably not safe to hang the bike by them.

If you're gonna hang multiple bikes, you need to be 2 stud lengths apart from each other so there's room for overlap, and you'll need probably around 40" of wall real estate per bike. I'd def. recommend drilling into studs.

I want to mount a bike mount on my wall and I’m concerned whether it’ll be too heavy for the wall / screws to hold it. Can anyone help please? Details are:

  • Velo Hinge bike mount link - weighs 900g. Attaches with 3 (long) screws
  • a normal road bike will hang from it
  • The wall is either plaster or drywall, I can’t seem to figure out which!
  • I’ve successfully hung 2 guitar mounts from the same walls, each holding a guitar, and they’re rock solid with no issues, using just 2 standard screws for each mount.

Seems the bike + mount will be a bit heavier than the guitars are, but given this has 3 screws I’m thinking maybe it’ll be ok.

Do you have any advice please?

    Thanks
